1King Solomon, however, loved many foreign women besides Pharaoh’s daughter—Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites, Sidonians and Hittites. 2They were from nations about which the Lord had told the Israelites, “You must not intermarry with them, because they will surely turn your hearts after their gods.” Nevertheless, Solomon held fast to them in love. 3He had seven hundred wives of royal birth and three hundred concubines, and his wives led him astray. 4As Solomon grew old, his wives turned his heart after other gods, and his heart was not fully devoted to the Lord his God, as the heart of David his father had been. 5He followed Ashtoreth the goddess of the Sidonians, and Molek the detestable god of the Ammonites. 6So Solomon did evil in the eyes of the Lord; he did not follow the Lord completely, as David his father had done. 7On a hill east of Jerusalem, Solomon built a high place for Chemosh the detestable god of Moab, and for Molek the detestable god of the Ammonites. 8He did the same for all his foreign wives, who burned incense and offered sacrifices to their gods. 9The Lord became angry with Solomon because his heart had turned away from the Lord, the God of Israel, who had appeared to him twice. 10Although he had forbidden Solomon to follow other gods, Solomon did not keep the Lord’s command. 11So the Lord said to Solomon, “Since this is your attitude and you have not kept my covenant and my decrees, which I commanded you, I will most certainly tear the kingdom away from you and give it to one of your subordinates. 12Nevertheless, for the sake of David your father, I will not do it during your lifetime. I will tear it out of the hand of your son. 13Yet I will not tear the whole kingdom from him, but will give him one tribe for the sake of David my servant and for the sake of Jerusalem, which I have chosen.”
Solomon’s Adversaries
14Then the Lord raised up against Solomon an adversary, Hadad the Edomite, from the royal line of Edom. 15Earlier when David was fighting with Edom, Joab the commander of the army, who had gone up to bury the dead, had struck down all the men in Edom. 16Joab and all the Israelites stayed there for six months, until they had destroyed all the men in Edom. 17But Hadad, still only a boy, fled to Egypt with some Edomite officials who had served his father. 18They set out from Midian and went to Paran. Then taking people from Paran with them, they went to Egypt, to Pharaoh king of Egypt, who gave Hadad a house and land and provided him with food. 19Pharaoh was so pleased with Hadad that he gave him a sister of his own wife, Queen Tahpenes, in marriage. 20The sister of Tahpenes bore him a son named Genubath, whom Tahpenes brought up in the royal palace. There Genubath lived with Pharaoh’s own children. 21While he was in Egypt, Hadad heard that David rested with his ancestors and that Joab the commander of the army was also dead. Then Hadad said to Pharaoh, “Let me go, that I may return to my own country.” 22“What have you lacked here that you want to go back to your own country?” Pharaoh asked. “Nothing,” Hadad replied, “but do let me go!” 23And God raised up against Solomon another adversary, Rezon son of Eliada, who had fled from his master, Hadadezer king of Zobah. 24When David destroyed Zobah’s army, Rezon gathered a band of men around him and became their leader; they went to Damascus, where they settled and took control. 25Rezon was Israel’s adversary as long as Solomon lived, adding to the trouble caused by Hadad. So Rezon ruled in Aram and was hostile toward Israel.
Jeroboam Rebels Against Solomon
26Also, Jeroboam son of Nebat rebelled against the king. He was one of Solomon’s officials, an Ephraimite from Zeredah, and his mother was a widow named Zeruah. 27Here is the account of how he rebelled against the king: Solomon had built the terraces⚓ and had filled in the gap in the wall of the city of David his father. 28Now Jeroboam was a man of standing, and when Solomon saw how well the young man did his work, he put him in charge of the whole labor force of the tribes of Joseph. 29About that time Jeroboam was going out of Jerusalem, and Ahijah the prophet of Shiloh met him on the way, wearing a new cloak. The two of them were alone out in the country, 30and Ahijah took hold of the new cloak he was wearing and tore it into twelve pieces. 31Then he said to Jeroboam, “Take ten pieces for yourself, for this is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: ‘See, I am going to tear the kingdom out of Solomon’s hand and give you ten tribes. 32But for the sake of my servant David and the city of Jerusalem, which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, he will have one tribe. 33I will do this because they have⚓ forsaken me and worshiped Ashtoreth the goddess of the Sidonians, Chemosh the god of the Moabites, and Molek the god of the Ammonites, and have not walked in obedience to me, nor done what is right in my eyes, nor kept my decrees and laws as David, Solomon’s father, did. 34“ ‘But I will not take the whole kingdom out of Solomon’s hand; I have made him ruler all the days of his life for the sake of David my servant, whom I chose and who obeyed my commands and decrees. 35I will take the kingdom from his son’s hands and give you ten tribes. 36I will give one tribe to his son so that David my servant may always have a lamp before me in Jerusalem, the city where I chose to put my Name. 37However, as for you, I will take you, and you will rule over all that your heart desires; you will be king over Israel. 38If you do whatever I command you and walk in obedience to me and do what is right in my eyes by obeying my decrees and commands, as David my servant did, I will be with you. I will build you a dynasty as enduring as the one I built for David and will give Israel to you. 39I will humble David’s descendants because of this, but not forever.’ ” 40Solomon tried to kill Jeroboam, but Jeroboam fled to Egypt, to Shishak the king, and stayed there until Solomon’s death.
Solomon’s Death
41As for the other events of Solomon’s reign—all he did and the wisdom he displayed—are they not written in the book of the annals of Solomon? 42Solomon reigned in Jerusalem over all Israel forty years. 43Then he rested with his ancestors and was buried in the city of David his father. And Rehoboam his son succeeded him as king.

Tỗp mansễm nâi táq yỗn án nguai chíq tễ Yiang Sursĩ. 4Toâq án thâu, máh lacuoi án radững án pỡq cucốh sang máh yiang cruang canŏ́h. Án tỡ bữn tanoang tapứng noâng chóq Yiang Sursĩ la Ncháu án. Ngkíq án mpha tễ puo Davĩt mpoaq án, yuaq Davĩt la cũai tanoang tapứng. 5Án cucốh sang yiang At-taret la yiang tỗp Sadôn, cớp yiang Mil-côm la yiang tỗp Amôn ca nhơp apỗ luat ngư. 6Án táq ranáq lôih chóq Yiang Sursĩ; án tỡ bữn táq tanoang tapứng noâng chóq Ncháu, tỡ bữn táq ĩn puo Davĩt mpoaq án khoiq táq. 7Ỡt tâng pỡng cóh coah angia mandang loŏh vil Yaru-salem, puo Sa-lamôn táq ntốq sang yiang Khê-môt, la yiang nhơp nhuo lứq tỗp Mô-ap; cớp án táq ntốq cucốh sang yiang Mil-côm,⚓ la yiang nhơp nhuo lứq tỗp Amôn. 8Án táq ntốq sang yỗn nheq tữh lacuoi án tễ cruang canŏ́h dŏq tỗp alới chŏ́ng crơng phuom cớp chiau crơng sang yỗn máh yiang tỗp alới. 9Ngkíq Yiang Sursĩ cutâu lứq chóq Sa-lamôn. Khoiq bar trỗ Yiang Sursĩ toâq sapáh chóq Sa-lamôn, ma Sa-lamôn noâng nguai tễ Yiang Sursĩ, la Ncháu tỗp I-sarel. 10Tam Yiang Sursĩ catoaih atỡng Sa-lamôn chỗi sacốh racớl sang yiang canŏ́h, ma Sa-lamôn tỡ bữn trĩh; án chứng clĩ chíq tễ Yiang Sursĩ. 11Ngkíq Yiang Sursĩ pai chóq án neq: “Cỗ tian mới táh máh parnai mới khoiq parkhán cớp cứq, dếh tỡ bữn trĩh santoiq cứq patâp, cứq pai samoât lứq, cứq ễ ĩt loah cruang cutễq tễ mới, chơ chiau yỗn muoi noaq cũai ayững atĩ mới ễn ndỡm. 12Ma tam ngkíq, cỗ nhơ tễ Davĩt mpoaq mới, ngkíq yuaq cứq tỡ bữn táq ĩn cứq khoiq pai toau sốt dỡi mới. Ma ranáq nâi toâq tâng dỡi con samiang mới. 13Cứq tỡ bữn yỗn con mới ndỡm nheq máh cutễq nâi, ma cứq ễ dŏq yỗn án ndỡm muoi tỗp la cỗ nhơ tễ Davĩt, la cũai táq ranáq cứq; cớp cỗ nhơ tễ vil Yaru-salem la vil cứq khoiq rưoh dŏq.”
Máh Cũai Ũan Chóq Puo Sa-lamôn
14Ngkíq Yiang Sursĩ táq yỗn Hadat la muoi noaq tễ dống sũ puo Ê-dôm cỡt cũai par‑ũal Sa-lamôn. 15Nhũang lứq tễ ranáq nâi cỡt, bo puo Davĩt cheng ĩt cruang Ê-dôm, ma Yô-ap la cũai nhêng salĩq tahan pỡq chu vil ki ễ tứp cumuiq. 16Án cớp tahan án kiang tâng Ê-dôm tapoât casâi. Bo tỗp alới ỡt tâng ntốq ki, alới cachĩt táh nheq tữh cũai samiang tâng vil ki. 17Ma bo ki, Hadat cớp máh cũai ayững atĩ mpoaq án tễ tỗp Ê-dôm bữn lúh vớt chu cruang Ê-yip-tô. (Bo ki Hadat noâng carnễn.) 18Tỗp alới loŏh tễ vil Madian, chơ pỡq chu vil Paran; cớp bữn máh cũai Paran pỡq parnơi cớp tỗp alới. Tỗp alới pỡq chu cruang Ê-yip-tô cớp mut hâu puo. Puo Ê-yip-tô chiau muoi pún cutễq cớp muoi láng dống yỗn Hadat, cớp án chuai sana hỡ yỗn án. 19Puo sâng bũi pahỡm cớp Hadat. Yuaq ngkíq, puo chiau ralễp án yỗn Hadat táq lacuoi; ramứh niang ki la Tapê-net. 20Mansễm nâi bữn muoi lám con samiang, ramứh Kê-nubat. Tapê-net rabán carnễn nâi tâng dống puo, parnơi cớp con samiang puo. 21Toâq Hadat sâng noau pai puo Davĩt khoiq cuchĩt chơ, cớp Yô-ap la cũai taniap máh tahan puo khoiq cuchĩt tê, ngkíq án pai neq: “Sễq anhia yỗn hếq píh chu loah pỡ cruang hếq.” 22Puo ta‑ỡi án neq: “Cỗ nŏ́q? Cứq yỗn mới tỡ bữn dũ tỡ? Nŏ́q mới ma yoc ễ píh chu loah pỡ cruang mới?” Hadat ta‑ỡi puo: “Ơq, dũ nheq. Ma sễq anhia yỗn hếq píh chu.” Moâm ki, án chu loah pỡ cruang án.⚓ 23Yiang Sursĩ táq yỗn Rê-son con samiang E-lia-da ễn cỡt cũai par‑ũal puo Sa-lamôn. Rê-son lúh tễ Hada-dê-sơ la puo cruang Sô-ba, la cũai sốt án, 24cớp Rê-son ayông muoi tỗp cũai ễ cheng sốt. Ranáq ki bữn cỡt toâq vớt puo Davĩt chíl riap puo Hada-dê-sơ, cớp cachĩt tỗp Si-ri la yớu ratoi Hada-dê-sơ. Rê-son cớp yớu án pỡq ỡt tâng vil Damac; chơ tỗp alới chóh án yỗn cỡt puo Si-ri. 25Án cỡt par‑ũal níc chóq máh cũai I-sarel machớng cớp Hadat bo Sa-lamôn noâng tamoong.
Yiang Sursĩ Parkhán Cớp Yê-rabũam
26Noâng bữn muoi noaq samiang ễn táq lớn-sarlớn chóq puo Sa-lamôn, ramứh Yê-rabũam con samiang Nê-bat tễ vil Sê-rada, tỗp Ep-ra-im. Mpiq án la cán cumai, ramứh Sê-rua. 27Ntốq nâi atỡng tễ máh ranáq Yê-rabũam ễ cheng sốt tễ puo Sa-lamôn. Puo Sa-lamôn khoiq cubớl cutễq coah angia mandang loŏh tĩng vil Yaru-salem cớp atức loah viang vil. 28Yê-rabũam la samiang póng ca roan clŏ́q lứq; chơ toâq puo Sa-lamôn hữm samiang póng ki táq ranáq nheq tễ mứt pahỡm, ngkíq án chóh Yê-rabũam cỡt cũai nhêng salĩq máh cũai táq ranáq tễ tỗp Ma-nasê cớp tỗp Ep-ra-im. 29Muoi tangái, bo Yê-rabũam ntôm loŏh tễ Yaru-salem, bữn manoaq tang bỗq ramứh Ahi-cha tễ vil Si-lô ramóh án pỡq manoaq án bữm tâng rana yáng tiah vil. 30Ahi-cha sớp au tamái, chơ án tũot aloŏh cớp háq cỡt muoi chít la bar mễng. 31Chơ án pai chóq Yê-rabũam neq: “Cóq mới ĩt dững achu muoi chít mễng aroâiq nâi, yuaq Yiang Sursĩ, la Ncháu tỗp I-sarel, atỡng mới neq: ‘Cứq ễ ĩt muoi chít tỗp tễ cruang puo Sa-lamôn, chơ chiau yỗn mới ndỡm. 32Sa-lamôn bữn cỡt sốt muoi tỗp la cỗ nhơ puo Davĩt, la cũai táq ranáq cứq, cớp cỗ nhơ vil Yaru-salem, la vil cứq khoiq rưoh dŏq tễ máh vil tâng cruang I-sarel. 33Cứq táq nneq la cỗ tian Sa-lamôn nguai chíq tễ cứq cớp pỡq cucốh sang máh yiang tỗp canŏ́h, la yiang At-taret, yiang tỗp Sadôn, yiang Khê-môt, yiang tỗp Mô-ap, cớp Mil-côm la yiang tỗp Amôn. Cứq táq ngkíq la cỗ nhơ tễ Davĩt, la cũai táq ranáq cứq, án ca cứq khoiq rưoh, cớp án yống níc máh santoiq cứq khoiq patâp. 35Cứq ễ ĩt muoi chít tỗp tễ cruang con samiang Sa-lamôn, chơ chiau yỗn mới ndỡm. 36Ma cứq dŏq yỗn con samiang Sa-lamôn noâng ndỡm muoi tỗp la cỗ cứq ễ chóh muoi noaq tễ tŏ́ng toiq Davĩt dŏq cỡt sốt mantái níc tâng vil Yaru-salem, la vil cứq khoiq rưoh dŏq sang toam cứq. 37Yê-rabũam ơi! Cứq ễ yỗn mới cỡt puo máh tỗp I-sarel, cớp mới bữn cỡt sốt chũop nheq cruang cutễq ki ariang mới yoc. 38Khân mới trĩh cứq dũ ramứh, táq puai phễp rit cứq, cớp táq yỗn cứq sâng bũi pahỡm ariang Davĩt, la cũai táq ranáq cứq, khoiq táq; cứq lứq ỡt níc cớp mới. Cứq ễ yỗn mới cỡt puo cũai I-sarel, dếh yỗn mới bữn con châu dŏq pláih loah mới, machớng cứq khoiq táq yỗn Davĩt tê. 39Cỗ Sa-lamôn táq lôih, ngkíq cứq yỗn tŏ́ng toiq Davĩt roap tôt; ma tỡ cỡn yỗn dũ dỡi dũ prôq alới roap tôt.’” 40Sa-lamôn ravoât ễ cachĩt chíq Yê-rabũam, ma Yê-rabũam lúh tooq ỡt cớp Si-sac, la puo Ê-yip-tô, cớp ỡt tâng cruang ki toau puo Sa-lamôn cuchĩt.
Sa-lamôn Cuchĩt
41Máh ranáq puo Sa-lamôn khoiq táq, dếh máh ŏ́c roan rangoaiq án, noau chĩc dŏq tâng pơ saráq atỡng tễ Máh Ranáq Puo Sa-lamôn Khoiq Táq. 42Sa-lamôn ỡt tâng vil Yaru-salem cớp cỡt puo cruang I-sarel pỗn chít cumo. 43Toâq Sa-lamôn cuchĩt noau tứp án tâng ping pỡ Vil Davĩt. Chơ Rê-habũam con samiang án ễn chỗn cỡt puo pláih án.
