Daniel’s Vision of a Man

¹In the third year of Cyrus king of Persia, a revelation was given to Daniel (who was called Belteshazzar). Its message was true and it concerned a great war.⚓ The understanding of the message came to him in a vision.
²At that time I, Daniel, mourned for three weeks. ³I ate no choice food; no meat or wine touched my lips; and I used no lotions at all until the three weeks were over.
⁴On the twenty-fourth day of the first month, as I was standing on the bank of the great river, the Tigris, ⁵I looked up and there before me was a man dressed in linen, with a belt of fine gold from Uphaz around his waist. ⁶His body was like topaz, his face like lightning, his eyes like flaming torches, his arms and legs like the gleam of burnished bronze, and his voice like the sound of a multitude.
⁷I, Daniel, was the only one who saw the vision; those who were with me did not see it, but such terror overwhelmed them that they fled and hid themselves. ⁸So I was left alone, gazing at this great vision; I had no strength left, my face turned deathly pale and I was helpless. ⁹Then I heard him speaking, and as I listened to him, I fell into a deep sleep, my face to the ground.
¹⁰A hand touched me and set me trembling on my hands and knees. ¹¹He said, “Daniel, you who are highly esteemed, consider carefully the words I am about to speak to you, and stand up, for I have now been sent to you.” And when he said this to me, I stood up trembling.
¹²Then he continued, “Do not be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day that you set your mind to gain understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to them. ¹³But the prince of the Persian kingdom resisted me twenty-one days. Then Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, because I was detained there with the king of Persia. ¹⁴Now I have come to explain to you what will happen to your people in the future, for the vision concerns a time yet to come.”
¹⁵While he was saying this to me, I bowed with my face toward the ground and was speechless. ¹⁶Then one who looked like a man⚓ touched my lips, and I opened my mouth and began to speak. I said to the one standing before me, “I am overcome with anguish because of the vision, my lord, and I feel very weak. ¹⁷How can I, your servant, talk with you, my lord? My strength is gone and I can hardly breathe.”
¹⁸Again the one who looked like a man touched me and gave me strength. ¹⁹“Do not be afraid, you who are highly esteemed,” he said. “Peace! Be strong now; be strong.”
When he spoke to me, I was strengthened and said, “Speak, my lord, since you have given me strength.”
²⁰So he said, “Do you know why I have come to you? Soon I will return to fight against the prince of Persia, and when I go, the prince of Greece will come; ²¹but first I will tell you what is written in the Book of Truth. (No one supports me against them except Michael, your prince.

²Bo ki, cứq Daniel ỡt tanúh dũn pái tốn. ³Cứq tỡ bữn cha sana ễm tỡ la sâiq ntrớu, tỡ la nguaiq blŏ́ng nho, cớp tỡ bữn siet sóc yỗn toau vớt pái tốn ki.
⁴Tâng tangái bar chít la pỗn, casâi muoi, tâng cumo ki cứq ỡt tayứng cheq tor crỗng Ti-crit. ⁵Cứq tangơq achỗn, chơ hữm manoaq samiang tâc tampâc busín, cớp catoân parnoân yễng muoi chít tâng ngkĩng án. ⁶Tỗ chác án bublưoq samoât tamáu moat. Mieiq án samoât lalieiq, cớp moat án blữ samoât pla ũih. Ngcŏ́ng cớp nlu án báiq samoât sapoan khoiq noau sat, cớp sưong án hũal casang samoât sưong cũai clứng.
⁷Ống manoaq cứq toâp hữm ŏ́c sapáh nâi. Máh cũai canŏ́h ca ỡt cớp cứq, alới tỡ bữn hữm ntrớu, ma alới sâng ngcŏh lứq; chơ alới lúh tooq nheq. ⁸Bữn ống manoaq cứq sâng ỡt nhêng máh ŏ́c sapáh ca salễh lứq ki. Rêng cứq cỡt pứt nheq, cớp mieiq cứq cỡt ngôt, toau tỡ bữn noau sacoal noâng cứq. ⁹Toâq cứq sâng samữong samiang ki, cứq dớm sarvéq tâng cutễq cớp pũp mieiq bân ntốq ki. ¹⁰Chơ lavoc bữn muoi lám atĩ âc cứq achỗn; án acŏ́q yỗn atĩ cớp racớl cứq troaq mu-cucông, ma tỗ chác cứq cangcoaih tháng.
¹¹Ranễng Yiang Sursĩ ki pai chóq cứq neq: “Daniel ơi! Yiang Sursĩ ayooq mới! Cóq mới yuor tayứng cớp tamứng yỗn samoât máh santoiq cứq pai. Yiang Sursĩ ớn cứq toâq ramóh mới.”
Toâq moâm án pai ngkíq, chơ cứq yuor tayứng, ma tỗ chác cứq noâng cangcoaih.
¹²Vớt ki, án pai ễn neq: “Daniel ơi! Chỗi ngcŏh ntrớu! Tễ tangái dâu lứq mới khoiq asễng tỗ yáng moat Yiang Sursĩ, cớp sễq yoc ễ dáng raloaih máh ngê tễ ŏ́c án sapáh ki, Yiang Sursĩ khoiq roap chơ santoiq mới câu sễq. Lứq cứq toâp toâq dŏq ta‑ỡi máh ŏ́c mới câu sễq ki. ¹³Ma ranễng ca kĩaq cruang Pơ-sia, án catáng cứq dũn bar chít la muoi tangái. Chơ Mi-kêl la ranễng Yiang Sursĩ ca sốt clữi nheq tễ máh ranễng canŏ́h, án toâq chuai cứq, yuaq noau catáng cứq tâng cruang Pơ-sia. ¹⁴Cứq toâq dŏq atỡng yỗn mới dáng raloaih tễ máh ramứh ễ toâq pỡ cũai proai mới chumát. Ŏ́c sapáh nâi yỗn mới dáng tễ ranáq ễ toâq chumát.”
¹⁵Toâq án pai ngkíq, cứq ngũq mieiq asễng, cớp tỡ bữn tabỗq ntrớu. ¹⁶Ma ranễng ki, roâp án ariang roâp cũai; án satoaq atĩ tâng tambớr cứq. Chơ cứq pai chóq án ca tayứng yáng moat cứq neq: “Achuaih ơi! Ŏ́c sapáh ki táq yỗn cứq cỡt ieuq lamên; cứq tỡ têq tangứt cangcoaih. ¹⁷Cứq cỡt samoât cũai sũl ỡt acoan ncháu. Nŏ́q têq cứq táq ntỡng cớp anhia? Rêng cứq khoiq nheq chơ, dếh ễ tangứh la coat lứq.”
¹⁸Chơ án satoaq cứq muoi trỗ ễn; ngkíq cứq cỡt bán rêng loah. ¹⁹Án pai neq: “Yiang Sursĩ ayooq mới; yuaq ngkíq chỗi túh ngua cớp chỗi ngcŏh ntrớu.”
Toâq án pai ngkíq, cứq sâng rêng loah cớp pai neq: “Achuaih ơi! Sễq anhia atỡng yỗn hếq dáng tễ máh santoiq anhia pai ki. Anhia khoiq táq yỗn hếq bữn rêng loah chơ.”
^20-21Chơ án pai ễn neq: “Mới dáng ma tỡ bữn cỗ nŏ́q cứq toâq pỡ mới? Cứq toâq tangái nâi, la cỗ ễ atỡng yỗn mới dáng raloaih tễ máh santoiq khoiq chĩc tâng Tâm Saráq Ca Pĩeiq Lứq. Ma sanua, cứq cóq píh chu chíl ranễng yiang ca sốt cruang Pơ-sia. Vớt ki, ranễng yiang sốt cruang Créc ễn ễ toâq. Ma tỡ bữn noau chuai cứq; ống Mi-kêl toâp la ranễng Yiang Sursĩ ca sốt cruang I-sarel, têq chíl chuai cứq.
