The Family of Esau
1Now this is the genealogy of Esau, ⚓who is Edom.
2⚓Esau took his wives from the daughters of Canaan: Adah the daughter of Elon the ⚓Hittite; ⚓Aholibamah the daughter of Anah, the daughter of Zibeon the Hivite;
3and ⚓Basemath, Ishmael’s daughter, sister of Nebajoth.
4Now ⚓Adah bore Eliphaz to Esau, and Basemath bore Reuel.
5And Aholibamah bore Jeush, Jaalam, and Korah. These were the sons of Esau who were born to him in the land of Canaan.
6Then Esau took his wives, his sons, his daughters, and all the persons of his household, his cattle and all his animals, and all his goods which he had gained in the land of Canaan, and went to a country away from the presence of his brother Jacob.
7⚓For their possessions were too great for them to dwell together, and ⚓the land where they were strangers could not support them because of their livestock.
8So Esau dwelt in ⚓Mount Seir. ⚓Esau is Edom.
9And this is the genealogy of Esau the father of the Edomites in Mount Seir.
10These were the names of Esau’s sons: ⚓Eliphaz the son of Adah the wife of Esau, and Reuel the son of Basemath the wife of Esau.
11And the sons of Eliphaz were Teman, Omar, Zepho, Gatam, and Kenaz.
12Now Timna was the concubine of Eliphaz, Esau’s son, and she bore ⚓Amalek to Eliphaz. These were the sons of Adah, Esau’s wife.
13These were the sons of Reuel: Nahath, Zerah, Shammah, and Mizzah. These were the sons of Basemath, Esau’s wife.
14These were the sons of Aholibamah, Esau’s wife, the daughter of Anah, the daughter of Zibeon. And she bore to Esau: Jeush, Jaalam, and Korah.
The Chiefs of Edom
15These were the chiefs of the sons of Esau. The sons of Eliphaz, the firstborn son of Esau, were Chief Teman, Chief Omar, Chief Zepho, Chief Kenaz,
16Chief Korah, Chief Gatam, and Chief Amalek. These were the chiefs of Eliphaz in the land of Edom. They were the sons of Adah.
17These were the sons of Reuel, Esau’s son: Chief Nahath, Chief Zerah, Chief Shammah, and Chief Mizzah. These were the chiefs of Reuel in the land of Edom. These were the sons of Basemath, Esau’s wife.
18And these were the sons of Aholibamah, Esau’s wife: Chief Jeush, Chief Jaalam, and Chief Korah. These were the chiefs who descended from Aholibamah, Esau’s wife, the daughter of Anah.
19These were the sons of Esau, who is Edom, and these were their chiefs.
The Sons of Seir
20⚓These were the sons of Seir ⚓the Horite who inhabited the land: Lotan, Shobal, Zibeon, Anah,
21Dishon, Ezer, and Dishan. These were the chiefs of the Horites, the sons of Seir, in the land of Edom.
22And the sons of Lotan were Hori and Hemam. Lotan’s sister was Timna.
23These were the sons of Shobal: Alvan, Manahath, Ebal, Shepho, and Onam.
24These were the sons of Zibeon: both Ajah and Anah. This was the Anah who found the water in the wilderness as he pastured ⚓the donkeys of his father Zibeon.
25These were the children of Anah: Dishon and Aholibamah the daughter of Anah.
26These were the sons of Dishon:Hemdan, Eshban, Ithran, and Cheran.
27These were the sons of Ezer: Bilhan, Zaavan, and Akan.
28These were the sons of Dishan: ⚓Uz and Aran.
29These were the chiefs of the Horites: Chief Lotan, Chief Shobal, Chief Zibeon, Chief Anah,
30Chief Dishon, Chief Ezer, and Chief Dishan. These were the chiefs of the Horites, according to their chiefs in the land of Seir.
The Kings of Edom
31⚓Now these were the kings who reigned in the land of Edom before any king reigned over the children of Israel:
32Bela the son of Beor reigned in Edom, and the name of his city was Dinhabah.
33And when Bela died, Jobab the son of Zerah of Bozrah reigned in his place.
34When Jobab died, Husham of the land of the Temanites reigned in his place.
35And when Husham died, Hadad the son of Bedad, who attacked Midian in the field of Moab, reigned in his place. And the name of his city was Avith.
36When Hadad died, Samlah of Masrekah reigned in his place.
37And when Samlah died, Saul of ⚓Rehoboth-by-the-River reigned in his place.
38When Saul died, Baal-Hanan the son of Achbor reigned in his place.
39And when Baal-Hanan the son of Achbor died, Hadar reigned in his place; and the name of his city was Pau. His wife’s name was Mehetabel, the daughter of Matred, the daughter of Mezahab.
The Chiefs of Esau
40And these were the names of the chiefs of Esau, according to their families and their places, by their names: Chief Timnah, Chief Alvah, Chief Jetheth,
41Chief Aholibamah, Chief Elah, Chief Pinon,
42Chief Kenaz, Chief Teman, Chief Mibzar,
43Chief Magdiel, and Chief Iram. These were the chiefs of Edom, according to their dwelling places in the land of their possession. Esau was the father of the Edomites.

1這是以掃的後代，以掃就是以東。
2以掃娶迦南的女子為妻，就是赫人以倫的女兒亞大和希未人祭便的孫女，亞拿的女兒阿何利巴瑪，
3又娶了以實瑪利的女兒，尼拜約的妹妹巴實抹。
4亞大為以掃生了以利法；巴實抹生了流珥；
5阿何利巴瑪生了耶烏施、雅蘭、可拉。這些都是以掃的兒子，是在迦南地生的。
6以掃帶着他的妻子、兒女和家中所有的人，以及他的牛羊、牲畜和一切財物，就是他在迦南地所得的，往別處去，離開了他的兄弟雅各。
7因為他們擁有的很多，不能住在一起。因為牲畜的緣故，寄居的地方容不下他們。
8於是以掃住在西珥山；以掃就是以東。
9這是以掃的後代，他是西珥山裏以東人的始祖。
10以掃子孫的名字如下：以掃的妻子亞大生以利法；以掃的妻子巴實抹生流珥。
11以利法的兒子是提幔、阿抹、洗玻、迦坦、基納斯。
12亭納是以掃兒子以利法的妾，她為以利法生了亞瑪力。這是以掃的妻子亞大的子孫。
13流珥的兒子是拿哈、謝拉、沙瑪、米撒。這是以掃妻子巴實抹的子孫。
14以掃的妻子阿何利巴瑪是祭便的孫女，亞拿的女兒。她為以掃生了耶烏施、雅蘭、可拉。
15這是以掃子孫中作族長的：以掃的長子以利法的子孫中，有提幔族長、阿抹族長、洗玻族長、基納斯族長、
16可拉族長、迦坦族長、亞瑪力族長。這是在以東地，從以利法所出的族長，是亞大的子孫。
17以掃的兒子流珥的子孫中，有拿哈族長、謝拉族長、沙瑪族長、米撒族長。這是在以東地，從流珥所出的族長，是以掃妻子巴實抹的子孫。
18以掃的妻子阿何利巴瑪的子孫中，有耶烏施族長、雅蘭族長、可拉族長。這是從以掃的妻子，亞拿的女兒阿何利巴瑪的子孫中所出的族長。
19以上的族長都是以掃的子孫；以掃就是以東。
西珥的子孫
（代上1．38－42）
20這是那地原來的居民，何利人西珥的子孫：羅坍、朔巴、祭便、亞拿、
21底順、以察、底珊。這是在以東地，從何利人西珥子孫中所出的族長。
22羅坍的兒子是何利、希幔，羅坍的妹妹是亭納。
23朔巴的兒子是亞勒文、瑪拿轄、以巴錄、示玻、阿南。
24祭便的兒子是愛亞、亞拿，當時在曠野牧放他父親祭便的驢，發現溫泉的就是這亞拿。
25亞拿的兒子是底順，亞拿的女兒是阿何利巴瑪。
26底順的兒子是欣但、伊是班、益蘭、基蘭。
27以察的兒子是辟罕、撒番、亞干。
28底珊的兒子是烏斯、亞蘭。
29這是從何利人所出的族長：羅坍族長、朔巴族長、祭便族長、亞拿族長、
30底順族長、以察族長、底珊族長。這是從何利人所出的族長，都在西珥地，按着族長⚓來分。
以東諸王
（代上1．43－54）
31以色列未有君王治理之前，這些是在以東地作王的。
32比珥的兒子比拉在以東作王，他的城名叫亭哈巴。
33比拉死了，波斯拉人謝拉的兒子約巴接續他作王。
34約巴死了，提幔人之地的戶珊接續他作王。
35戶珊死了，比達的兒子哈達接續他作王，哈達曾在摩押地擊敗米甸人，他的城名叫亞未得。
36哈達死了，瑪士利加人桑拉接續他作王。
37桑拉死了，大河邊的利河伯人掃羅接續他作王。
38掃羅死了，亞革波的兒子巴勒‧哈南接續他作王。
39亞革波的兒子巴勒‧哈南死了，哈達爾⚓接續他作王，他的城名叫巴烏。他的妻子名叫米希她別，是米‧薩合的孫女，瑪特列的女兒。
40這是以掃的族長，按着他們的宗族、住處和名字：亭納族長、亞勒瓦族長、耶帖族長、
41阿何利巴瑪族長、以拉族長、比嫩族長、
42基納斯族長、提幔族長、米比薩族長、
43瑪基疊族長、以蘭族長。這些是以東人在所得為業的地上，按着他們住處的族長。以掃是以東人的始祖。
