but the income of the wicked brings ruin.

but the hearts of fools are not upright.

⁸The Lord detests the sacrifice of the wicked,
but the prayer of the upright pleases him.

but he loves those who pursue righteousness.

¹⁰Stern discipline awaits anyone who leaves the path;
the one who hates correction will die.

¹¹Death and Destruction⚓ lie open before the Lord—
how much more do human hearts!

so they avoid the wise.

but gracious words are pure in his sight.

but the one who hates bribes will live.

còn hơn ăn thịt ngon với kẻ ghét mình.

nhưng ai trầm tĩnh ngăn được cuộc cãi vã.
¹⁹Lối đi của kẻ lười biếng bị gai gốc ngăn chận,
còn lối đi của người công chính như đường lộ bằng phẳng.
²⁰Con khôn ngoan làm cho cha vui,
nhưng con dại dột khinh rẻ mẹ mình.

nhưng người ghét của hối lộ sẽ được sống.

còn miệng kẻ ác tuôn ra điều ác.

nhưng Ngài nghe lời khẩn nguyện của người ngay thẳng.

Tin vui làm cho thân thể thêm sức lực.

thì con sẽ sống giữa vòng người khôn ngoan.
