1The words of Amos, who was among the ⚓sheepbreeders of ⚓Tekoa, which he saw concerning Israel in the days of ⚓Uzziah king of Judah, and in the days of ⚓Jeroboam the son of Joash, king of Israel, two years before the ⚓earthquake.
2And he said:
“The Lord⚓roars from Zion,
And utters His voice from Jerusalem;
The pastures of the shepherds mourn,
And the top of ⚓Carmel withers.”
Judgment on the Nations
3Thus says the Lord:
“For three transgressions of ⚓Damascus, and for four,
I will not turn away its punishment,
Because they have ⚓threshed Gilead with implements of iron.
4⚓But I will send a fire into the house of Hazael,
Which shall devour the palaces of ⚓Ben-Hadad.
5I will also break the gate⚓bar of Damascus,
And cut off the inhabitant from the Valley of Aven,
And the one who holds the scepter from Beth Eden.
The people of Syria shall go captive to Kir,”
Says the Lord.
6Thus says the Lord:
“For three transgressions of ⚓Gaza, and for four,
I will not turn away its punishment,
Because they took captive the whole captivity
To deliver them up to Edom.
7⚓But I will send a fire upon the wall of Gaza,
Which shall devour its palaces.
8I will cut off the inhabitant ⚓from Ashdod,
And the one who holds the scepter from Ashkelon;
I will ⚓turn My hand against Ekron,
And ⚓the remnant of the Philistines shall perish,”
Says the Lord God.
9Thus says the Lord:
“For three transgressions of ⚓Tyre, and for four,
I will not turn away its punishment,
Because they delivered up the whole captivity to Edom,
And did not remember the covenant of brotherhood.
10But I will send a fire upon the wall of Tyre,
Which shall devour its palaces.”
11Thus says the Lord:
“For three transgressions of ⚓Edom, and for four,
I will not turn away its punishment,
Because he pursued his ⚓brother with the sword,
And cast off all pity;
His anger tore perpetually,
And he kept his wrath forever.
12But ⚓I will send a fire upon Teman,
Which shall devour the palaces of Bozrah.”
13Thus says the Lord:
“For three transgressions of ⚓the people of Ammon, and for four,
I will not turn away its punishment,
Because they ripped open the women with child in Gilead,
That they might enlarge their territory.
14But I will kindle a fire in the wall of ⚓Rabbah,
And it shall devour its palaces,
⚓Amid shouting in the day of battle,
And a tempest in the day of the whirlwind.
15⚓Their king shall go into captivity,
He and his princes together,”
Says the Lord.

3Đức Giê-hô-va phán:⚓
“Vì tội ác của Đa-mách chồng chất thêm tội ác⚓
Nên Ta không rút lại án phạt khỏi nó.
Vì nó đã lấy dụng cụ đập lúa bằng sắt
Mà đập Ga-la-át.
4Ta sẽ sai lửa đến trên nhà Ha-xa-ên
Để thiêu hủy các đền đài của Bên-ha-đát.
5Ta sẽ bẻ gãy then cửa thành Đa-mách;
Ta sẽ hủy diệt cư dân khỏi trũng A-ven
Và kẻ cầm cây trượng khỏi Bết Ê-đen;
Còn dân chúng A-ram sẽ bị lưu đày qua Ki-rơ”
Đức Giê-hô-va phán vậy.
6Đức Giê-hô-va phán:⚓
“Vì tội ác của Ga-xa chồng chất thêm tội ác
Nên Ta không rút lại án phạt khỏi nó.
Vì nó đã bắt toàn bộ dân chúng đi đày,
Và nộp cho Ê-đôm.
7Ta sẽ sai lửa đến trên vách thành Ga-xa
Để thiêu hủy những đền đài của nó.
8Ta sẽ dứt cư dân khỏi Ách-đốt
Và kẻ cầm cây trượng khỏi Ách-ca-lôn.
Ta sẽ trở tay Ta chống lại Éc-rôn
Và phần sót lại của người Phi-li-tin sẽ chết”
Chúa Giê-hô-va phán vậy.
9Đức Giê-hô-va phán:⚓
“Vì tội ác của Ty-rơ chồng chất thêm tội ác
Nên Ta không rút lại án phạt khỏi nó
Vì chúng đã nộp cả dân chúng cho Ê-đôm
Chẳng hề nhớ đến lời giao ước với anh em.
10Ta sẽ sai lửa đến trên vách thành Ty-rơ
Lửa sẽ thiêu hủy những đồn lũy của nó.”
11Đức Giê-hô-va phán:⚓
“Vì tội ác của Ê-đôm chồng chất thêm tội ác
Nên Ta không rút án phạt khỏi nó,
Vì nó đã dùng gươm đuổi theo anh em mình⚓
Không chút xót thương;
Nó cứ giữ cơn giận mãi mãi,
Và nuôi thịnh nộ đến đời đời.
12Ta sẽ sai lửa đến trên Thê-man,
Lửa sẽ thiêu hủy những đồn lũy của Bốt-ra.”
13Đức Giê-hô-va phán:⚓
“Vì tội ác của con cái Am-môn chồng chất thêm tội ác
Nên Ta sẽ không rút án phạt khỏi nó.
Vì chúng đã mổ bụng phụ nữ mang thai của Ga-la-át
Để mở rộng biên cương mình.
14Ta sẽ châm lửa đốt vách thành Ráp-ba,
Lửa sẽ thiêu hủy những đồn lũy của nó
Giữa tiếng kêu la trong ngày chiến trận,
Giữa cơn gió lốc trong lúc phong ba.
15Vua và các quan chức của chúng
Sẽ cùng nhau bị lưu đày,”
