The Sign of the Broken Flask
1Thus says the Lord: “Go and get a potter’s earthen flask, and take some of the elders of the people and some of the elders of the priests.
2And go out to ⚓the Valley of the Son of Hinnom, which is by the entry of the Potsherd Gate; and proclaim there the words that I will tell you,
3⚓and say, ‘Hear the word of the Lord, O kings of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem. Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: “Behold, I will bring such a catastrophe on this place, that whoever hears of it, his ears will ⚓tingle.
4“Because they ⚓have forsaken Me and made this an alien place, because they have burned incense in it to other gods whom neither they, their fathers, nor the kings of Judah have known, and have filled this place with ⚓the blood of the innocents
5⚓(they have also built the high places of Baal, to burn their sons with fire for burnt offerings to Baal, ⚓which I did not command or speak, nor did it come into My mind),
6therefore behold, the days are coming,” says the Lord, “that this place shall no more be called Tophet or ⚓the Valley of the Son of Hinnom, but the Valley of Slaughter.
7And I will make void the counsel of Judah and Jerusalem in this place, ⚓and I will cause them to fall by the sword before their enemies and by the hands of those who seek their lives; their ⚓corpses I will give as meat for the birds of the heaven and for the beasts of the earth.
8I will make this city ⚓desolate and a hissing; everyone who passes by it will be astonished and hiss because of all its plagues.
9And I will cause them to eat the ⚓flesh of their sons and the flesh of their daughters, and everyone shall eat the flesh of his friend in the siege and in the desperation with which their enemies and those who seek their lives shall drive them to despair.” ’
10⚓“Then you shall break the flask in the sight of the men who go with you,
11and say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts: ⚓“Even so I will break this people and this city, as one breaks a potter’s vessel, which cannot be made whole again; and they shall ⚓bury them in Tophet till there is no place to bury.
12Thus I will do to this place,” says the Lord, “and to its inhabitants, and make this city like Tophet.
13And the houses of Jerusalem and the houses of the kings of Judah shall be defiled ⚓like the place of Tophet, because of all the houses on whose ⚓roofs they have burned incense to all the host of heaven, and ⚓poured out drink offerings to other gods.” ’ ”
14Then Jeremiah came from Tophet, where the Lord had sent him to prophesy; and he stood in ⚓the court of the Lord’s house and said to all the people,
15“Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: ‘Behold, I will bring on this city and on all her towns all the doom that I have pronounced against it, because ⚓they have stiffened their necks that they might not hear My words.’ ”

4Kyuadah phung ƀuôn sang lui wir kâo leh, leh anăn bi mčhŏ leh anôk anei hŏng klei diñu čuh mnơ̆ng ƀâo mngưi kơ yang mkăn, diñu, phung aê diñu, phung mtao Yuđa amâo tuôm thâo kral ôh; leh anăn kyuadah diñu bi bŏ leh anôk anei hŏng êrah amâo tuôm soh ôh.
5 Leh anăn diñu mdơ̆ng anôk dlông kơ yang Baal čiăng čuh anak êkei diñu hlăm pui jing mnơ̆ng myơr čuh kơ yang Baal, klei anăn kâo amâo tuôm mtă kăn tuôm hrŭn rei, kăn kâo tuôm mĭn kơ klei anăn rei.’
6‘Kyuanăn nĕ anei, hruê srăng truh,’ Yêhôwa lač, ‘Tơdah anôk anei arăng amâo srăng lŏ pia ôh Tôphet amâodah Tlung anak êkei Hinôm, ƀiădah arăng srăng pia Tlung Klei Koh Mdjiê.
7Hlăm anôk anei kâo srăng bi luč hĕ hdră phung Yuđa leh anăn phung ƀuôn Yêrusalem čiăng ngă, leh anăn kâo srăng brei phung ƀuôn sang diñu djiê hŏng đao gưm ti anăp phung roh diñu, leh anăn hŏng phung duah bi luč klei hdĭp diñu. Kâo srăng jao atâo diñu jing mnơ̆ng ƀơ̆ng kơ čĭm hlăm adiê leh anăn kơ hlô dliê ti lăn ala.
8Kâo srăng mjing ƀuôn anei sa klei bi huĭ, sa mnơ̆ng arăng djă djik djak; grăp čô hlei pô găn tinăn srăng huĭ leh anăn kyua jih klei truh leh.
9Kâo srăng brei phung ƀuôn sang ƀơ̆ng kđeh phung anak êkei leh anăn anak mniê diñu, leh anăn grăp čô srăng ƀơ̆ng kđeh pô riêng gah ñu êjai ênuk arăng wang ngă bi rŭng diñu, hŏng klei anăn phung roh diñu leh anăn phung duah bi luč klei hdĭp diñu bi knap diñu.’
10Leh anăn brei ih bi mčah čeh ti anăp phung êkei nao mbĭt hŏng ih,
11leh anăn lač kơ diñu, ‘Snei Yêhôwa kơ phung kahan lač: Msĕ snăn mơh kâo srăng bi mčah phung ƀuôn sang leh anăn ƀuôn prŏng anei, msĕ si arăng bi mčah sa boh čeh, tơl arăng amâo dưi lŏ mkra ôh. Arăng srăng dơr phung mnuih hlăm Tôphet tơl amâo lŏ mâo anôk dơr ôh.
12Msĕ snăn kâo srăng ngă kơ anôk anei, Yêhôwa lač, leh anăn kơ phung dôk hlăm anôk anei mjing ƀuôn anei msĕ si Tôphet.
13Jih jang sang hlăm ƀuôn Yêrusalem leh anăn jih jang sang phung mtao Yuđa — jih jang sang arăng tuôm čuh leh ti čuôr mnơ̆ng ƀâo mngưi kơ mtŭ hlăm adiê leh anăn tuôm tuh leh mnơ̆ng myơr mnăm kơ yang mkăn — arăng srăng bi mčhŏ msĕ si anôk Tôphet.’ ”
14Leh anăn Y-Yêrêmi wĭt mơ̆ng Tôphet, anôk Yêhôwa tiŏ nao ñu leh brei hưn êlâo, leh anăn ñu dôk dơ̆ng hlăm wăl sang Yêhôwa, leh anăn lač kơ jih jang phung ƀuôn sang:
15“Snei klei Yêhôwa kơ phung kahan, Aê Diê phung Israel, lač, ‘Nĕ anei, kâo bi truh kơ ƀuôn prŏng anei leh anăn kơ jih jang ƀuôn điêt gơ̆ djăp mta klei jhat kâo hưn kơ gơ̆ leh, kyuadah diñu bi khăng leh ai tiê diñu, hngah amâo čiăng hmư̆ klei kâo blŭ ôh.’ ”
