The Wickedness and Judgment of Man
1Now it came to pass, ⚓when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born to them,
2that the sons of God saw the daughters of men, that they were beautiful; and they ⚓took wives for themselves of all whom they chose.
3And the Lord said, ⚓“My Spirit shall not ⚓strive with man forever, ⚓for he is indeed flesh; yet his days shall be one hundred and twenty years.”
4There were giants on the earth in those ⚓days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of men and they bore children to them. Those were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown.
5Then the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every ⚓intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
6And ⚓the Lord was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and ⚓He was grieved in His ⚓heart.
7So the Lord said, “I will ⚓destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth, both man and beast, creeping thing and birds of the air, for I am sorry that I have made them.”
8But Noah ⚓found grace in the eyes of the Lord.
Noah Pleases God
9This is the genealogy of Noah. ⚓Noah was a just man, perfect in his generations. Noah ⚓walked with God.
10And Noah begot three sons: ⚓Shem, Ham, and Japheth.
11The earth also was corrupt ⚓before God, and the earth was ⚓filled with violence.
12So God ⚓looked upon the earth, and indeed it was corrupt; for ⚓all flesh had corrupted their way on the earth.
The Ark Prepared
13And God said to Noah, ⚓“The end of all flesh has come before Me, for the earth is filled with violence through them; ⚓and behold, ⚓I will destroy them with the earth.
14Make yourself an ark of gopherwood; make rooms in the ark, and cover it inside and outside with pitch.
15And this is how you shall make it: The length of the ark shall be three hundred cubits, its width fifty cubits, and its height thirty cubits.
16You shall make a window for the ark, and you shall finish it to a cubit from above; and set the door of the ark in its side. You shall make it with lower, second, and third decks.
17⚓And behold, I Myself am bringing ⚓floodwaters on the earth, to destroy from under heaven all flesh in which is the breath of life; everything that is on the earth shall ⚓die.
18But I will establish My ⚓covenant with you; and ⚓you shall go into the ark—you, your sons, your wife, and your sons’ wives with you.
19And of every living thing of all flesh you shall bring ⚓two of every sort into the ark, to keep them alive with you; they shall be male and female.
20Of the birds after their kind, of animals after their kind, and of every creeping thing of the earth after its kind, two of every kind⚓will come to you to keep them alive.
21And you shall take for yourself of all food that is eaten, and you shall gather it to yourself; and it shall be food for you and for them.”
22⚓Thus Noah did; ⚓according to all that ⚓God commanded him, so he did.

Con người trở nên độc ác
1Dân số trên đất càng ngày càng tăng, con gái sinh ra cũng nhiều.
2Khi các con trai Thượng Đế thấy các cô gái đó xinh đẹp thì chọn làm vợ.
3CHÚA phán, “Thần linh ta sẽ không thể nào ở cùng⚓ loài người mãi được vì loài người chỉ là xác thịt. Chúng nó chỉ sống đến 120 tuổi thôi.”
4Dân Nê-phi-lim sống trên đất trong thời kỳ đó và những thời kỳ sau. Đó là thời kỳ mà con trai Thượng Đế ăn ở với con gái loài người và sinh ra con cái. Chúng nổi tiếng và trở thành những chiến sĩ anh dũng thời xưa.
5CHÚA thấy loài người trên đất rất độc ác, còn tư tưởng của họ lúc nào cũng xấu xa.
6Ngài hối hận đã dựng ra con người trên đất, nên rất buồn lòng.
7CHÚA bảo, “Ta sẽ tiêu diệt loài người mà ta đã tạo dựng trên đất. Ta sẽ tiêu diệt mọi loài thú vật và mọi loài bò sát, mọi loài chim trời, vì ta rất hối hận đã tạo dựng ra chúng.”
8Nhưng Nô-ê sống đẹp lòng CHÚA.
Nô-ê và trận lụt lớn
9Sau đây là gia phổ của Nô-ê. Nô-ê là người nhân đức, chân thật nhất trong thời đại ông. Nô-ê đồng đi với Thượng Đế.
10Ông có ba con trai: Sem, Cham và Gia-phết.
11Dân cư trên đất làm những điều Thượng Đế cho là độc ác. Đâu đâu cũng thấy điều bạo ngược.
12Khi Thượng Đế thấy loài người đã làm hư hoại đất vì họ chỉ chuyên làm ác,
13thì Ngài phán cùng Nô-ê rằng, “Vì đất đã đầy dẫy điều bạo ngược do con người tạo ra, nên ta sẽ tiêu diệt mọi sinh vật khỏi đất.
14Con hãy đóng một chiếc tàu bằng gỗ bách⚓ cho con. Hãy làm nhiều phòng trong tàu rồi lấy nhựa chai trét bên trong và bên ngoài.
15Tàu sẽ có kích thước như sau: dài 150 thước, rộng 25 thước, cao 15 thước.
16Hãy làm một cửa sổ quanh nóc tàu cao 5 tấc tính từ mép của nóc xuống. Trổ một cửa lớn bên hông tàu. Bên trong tàu chia làm ba từng: từng trên, từng giữa và từng dưới.
17Ta sẽ mang nước lụt đến trên đất để tiêu diệt tất cả các sinh vật sống dưới bầu trời, toàn thể các sinh vật có hơi sống. Mọi loài trên đất đều sẽ chết hết.
18Nhưng ta sẽ lập giao ước với con. Các con trai con, vợ con, các nàng dâu con sẽ đi vào tàu.
19Ngoài ra con phải mang vào tàu mỗi sinh vật một cặp, trống và mái. Hãy nuôi sống các loài ấy.
20Loài chim, thú vật, động vật bò sát, mỗi loài một cặp sẽ đến với con để sống còn.
21Con cũng phải thu góp các loại thực phẩm để dự trữ trên tàu dùng làm thức ăn cho con và các loài sinh vật.”
22Nô-ê làm đúng theo lời Thượng Đế truyền dặn.
