The Wickedness and Judgment of Man
1Now it came to pass, ⚓when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born to them,
2that the sons of God saw the daughters of men, that they were beautiful; and they ⚓took wives for themselves of all whom they chose.
3And the Lord said, ⚓“My Spirit shall not ⚓strive with man forever, ⚓for he is indeed flesh; yet his days shall be one hundred and twenty years.”
4There were giants on the earth in those ⚓days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of men and they bore children to them. Those were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown.
5Then the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every ⚓intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
6And ⚓the Lord was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and ⚓He was grieved in His ⚓heart.
7So the Lord said, “I will ⚓destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth, both man and beast, creeping thing and birds of the air, for I am sorry that I have made them.”
8But Noah ⚓found grace in the eyes of the Lord.
Noah Pleases God
9This is the genealogy of Noah. ⚓Noah was a just man, perfect in his generations. Noah ⚓walked with God.
10And Noah begot three sons: ⚓Shem, Ham, and Japheth.
11The earth also was corrupt ⚓before God, and the earth was ⚓filled with violence.
12So God ⚓looked upon the earth, and indeed it was corrupt; for ⚓all flesh had corrupted their way on the earth.
The Ark Prepared
13And God said to Noah, ⚓“The end of all flesh has come before Me, for the earth is filled with violence through them; ⚓and behold, ⚓I will destroy them with the earth.
14Make yourself an ark of gopherwood; make rooms in the ark, and cover it inside and outside with pitch.
15And this is how you shall make it: The length of the ark shall be three hundred cubits, its width fifty cubits, and its height thirty cubits.
16You shall make a window for the ark, and you shall finish it to a cubit from above; and set the door of the ark in its side. You shall make it with lower, second, and third decks.
17⚓And behold, I Myself am bringing ⚓floodwaters on the earth, to destroy from under heaven all flesh in which is the breath of life; everything that is on the earth shall ⚓die.
18But I will establish My ⚓covenant with you; and ⚓you shall go into the ark—you, your sons, your wife, and your sons’ wives with you.
19And of every living thing of all flesh you shall bring ⚓two of every sort into the ark, to keep them alive with you; they shall be male and female.
20Of the birds after their kind, of animals after their kind, and of every creeping thing of the earth after its kind, two of every kind⚓will come to you to keep them alive.
21And you shall take for yourself of all food that is eaten, and you shall gather it to yourself; and it shall be food for you and for them.”
22⚓Thus Noah did; ⚓according to all that ⚓God commanded him, so he did.

Tội ác gia tăng
1Loài người bắt đầu gia tăng trên mặt đất và sinh ra nhiều con gái.⚓
2Các con trai của Đức Chúa Trời⚓ thấy con gái loài người xinh đẹp thì cưới những người nào họ chọn để làm vợ.
3Đức Giê-hô-va phán: “Thần Ta sẽ không ngự trị mãi trong loài người vì⚓ họ chỉ là xác phàm, đời người sẽ chỉ còn một trăm hai mươi năm mà thôi.”
4Vào thời bấy giờ và sau đó có những người khổng lồ xuất hiện trên mặt đất, vì con trai Đức Chúa Trời ăn ở với con gái loài người rồi sinh con cái. Đó là những anh hùng thuở xưa, là những người danh tiếng.⚓
5Đức Giê-hô-va thấy sự gian ác của loài người lan tràn trên mặt đất và chúng chỉ luôn toan tính những mưu đồ xấu xa,⚓
6thì Ngài lấy làm tiếc vì đã tạo dựng loài người trên mặt đất, và đau buồn trong lòng.
7Đức Giê-hô-va phán: “Ta sẽ xóa sạch khỏi mặt đất loài người mà Ta đã tạo dựng, từ loài người cho đến loài súc vật, loài bò sát, loài chim trời, vì Ta lấy làm tiếc đã dựng nên chúng.”
Nô-ê được ơn Chúa
8Nhưng Nô-ê được ơn trước mặt Đức Giê-hô-va.
9Đây là dòng dõi của Nô-ê. Trong thế hệ mình, Nô-ê là một người công chính và trọn vẹn; ông cùng đi với Đức Chúa Trời.⚓
10Nô-ê sinh ba con trai là Sem, Cham và Gia-phết.
Nô-ê đóng tàu
11Thế gian bấy giờ đều bại hoại trước mặt Đức Chúa Trời và đầy dẫy điều hung bạo.
12Đức Chúa Trời nhìn xem thế gian, thấy chúng bại hoại, vì mọi người trên đất đều theo lối sống băng hoại.
13Đức Chúa Trời phán với Nô-ê: “Ta đã quyết định tận diệt mọi người, vì do chúng mà thế gian đầy dẫy điều hung bạo. Nầy, Ta sẽ tiêu diệt chúng khỏi mặt đất.
14Con hãy đóng một chiếc tàu bằng gỗ gô-phe,⚓ chia thành từng phòng và trét nhựa chai cả trong lẫn ngoài.
15Con hãy đóng tàu như thế nầy: Chiều dài một trăm năm mươi mét,⚓ chiều rộng hai mươi lăm mét, chiều cao mười lăm mét.
16Con cũng làm một mái che⚓ cho tàu, mái lợp cách tàu nửa mét, và trổ một cửa bên hông tàu. Con sẽ làm tầng dưới, tầng giữa và tầng trên.
17Còn Ta, Ta sẽ dẫn nước lụt đến trên đất để tiêu diệt tất cả các loài xác thịt có hơi thở ở dưới trời. Mọi vật trên đất đều sẽ chết hết.
18Nhưng Ta sẽ lập giao ước với con, rồi con sẽ vào tàu cùng với vợ, các con trai và các con dâu của mình.
19Về các loài sinh vật, con hãy đem vào tàu mỗi loài một cặp, có đực có cái, có trống có mái, để giữ cho chúng cùng sống với con.
20Chim tùy theo loại, súc vật tùy theo loại, loài bò sát tùy theo loại, mỗi loài một cặp, đều sẽ đến với con để con gìn giữ sự sống cho chúng.
21Ngoài ra, con cũng đem theo các thứ thức ăn dự trữ để làm lương thực cho con và các loài đó.”
22Nô ê làm mọi điều đúng như lời Đức Chúa Trời đã truyền phán.⚓
