1Here is a trustworthy saying: Whoever aspires to be an overseer desires a noble task. 2Now the overseer is to be above reproach, faithful to his wife, temperate, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, 3not given to drunkenness, not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money. 4He must manage his own family well and see that his children obey him, and he must do so in a manner worthy of full⚓ respect. 5(If anyone does not know how to manage his own family, how can he take care of God’s church?) 6He must not be a recent convert, or he may become conceited and fall under the same judgment as the devil. 7He must also have a good reputation with outsiders, so that he will not fall into disgrace and into the devil’s trap. 8In the same way, deacons⚓ are to be worthy of respect, sincere, not indulging in much wine, and not pursuing dishonest gain. 9They must keep hold of the deep truths of the faith with a clear conscience. 10They must first be tested; and then if there is nothing against them, let them serve as deacons. 11In the same way, the women⚓ are to be worthy of respect, not malicious talkers but temperate and trustworthy in everything. 12A deacon must be faithful to his wife and must manage his children and his household well. 13Those who have served well gain an excellent standing and great assurance in their faith in Christ Jesus.
Reasons for Paul’s Instructions
14Although I hope to come to you soon, I am writing you these instructions so that, 15if I am delayed, you will know how people ought to conduct themselves in God’s household, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and foundation of the truth. 16Beyond all question, the mystery from which true godliness springs is great: He appeared in the flesh, was vindicated by the Spirit,⚓ was seen by angels, was preached among the nations, was believed on in the world, was taken up in glory.

1Nau ngơi aơ jêng nanê̆, tơlah du huê joi kan jêng kôranh chiă uănh, păng ŭch ma kan khlay ngăn, 2kôranh chiă uănh nây mâu geh nau bu dơi nduyh, gŭ knŏng du huê ur, blau sông sa di keh, gĭt njrăng, dơi khư, gĭt rom bunuyh, dơi nti lah. 3Mâu jêng bunuyh nhŭl ndrănh ôh, mâu jêng bunuyh hăt janh ôh, ƀiălah rdơ̆, mâu rŏng nau tâm djrel, mâu rŏng ma prăk âk. 4Ăn păng mât uănh ngih păng nơm ăn ueh jêh ri ăn phung kon păng blau tông bâr ma păng jêh ri gŭ sŏng ngăn; 5Yorlah tơlah du huê mâu blau chiă uănh ngih păng nơm, mâm păng mra dơi chiă uănh phung ngih Brah Ndu? 6Du huê mhe chroh mâu dơi ôh, klach lah bêng ma nau sưr păng tŭp tâm dâng nau phat dôih brah mhĭk. 7Ăn păng geh nau nkoch ueh bơh phung padih, gay lơi ăn păng tŭp tâm nau bu nduyh jêh ri tâm dăk brah mhĭk. 8Phung kôranh ngih brah tâm ban lĕ mra jêng sŏng srăng, mâu ngơi bar bâr ôh, mâu nhêt âk dak play kriăk ƀâu ôh (ndrănh) mâu jêng bunuyh hay sa ma prăk âk ôh. 9Khân păng mra djôt prăp nau khlay ndâp bơh nau chroh tâm nuih n'hâm sŏng kloh. 10Ăn bu rlong uănh khân păng lor, tơlah khân păng mâu geh nau bu dơi nduyh ăn khân păng pah kan ƀư kôranh ngih brah. 11Phung bu ur tâm ban lĕ mra jêng sŏng srăng, mâu dơi ngơi mhĭk ma bu ôh, ƀiălah sông sa di keh, gŭ răp jăp tâm lĕ rngôch ndơ. 12Ăn phung kôranh ngih brah gŭ knŏng du huê ur, jêh ri chiă uănh ăn ueh phung kon khân păng, jêh ri ngih khân păng nơm. 13Yorlah mbu nơm pah kan ueh mra geh nau yơk ma khân păng nơm, jêh ri nau gĭt nanê̆ tâm nau chroh ma Yêsu Krist. 14Gâp nchih nau aơ ma may ma nau kâp gân hăn gơnh ma may, ƀiălah gay ma may gĭt. 15Tơlah gâp tât nkai mâm ƀư bu gŭ ngao krao sach tâm ndŭl mpôl Brah Ndu, nâm bu ntĭt phung ngih Brah Ndu rêh, jêng nâm bu meh jêh ri ntur ma nau nanê̆. 16Nau khlay ndâp tâm nau yơk ma Brah Ndu toyh ngăn jêh ri bu mâu dơi dun ôh: "Nơm tâm mpơl jêh tâm nglay săk, Brah Huêng Ueh kơp păng sŏng. Phung tông păr ueh Brah Ndu saơ păng jêh. Bu mbơh jêh păng ma phung ndŭl mpôl, bu chroh jêh ma păng tâm neh ntu. Jêh ri Brah Ndu chông leo jêh păng tâm nau chrêk rmah.
