Israel’s Futile Idolatry

¹The righteous perishes,
And no man takes it to heart;
⚓Merciful men are taken away,
⚓While no one considers
That the righteous is taken away from evil.
²He shall enter into peace;
They shall rest in ⚓their beds,
Each one walking in his uprightness.
³“But come here,
⚓You sons of the sorceress,
You offspring of the adulterer and the harlot!
⁴Whom do you ridicule?
Against whom do you make a wide mouth
And stick out the tongue?
Are you not children of transgression,
Offspring of falsehood,
⁵Inflaming yourselves with gods ⚓under every green tree,
⚓Slaying the children in the valleys,
Under the clefts of the rocks?
⁶Among the smooth ⚓stones of the stream
Is your portion;
They, they, are your lot!
Even to them you have poured a drink offering,
You have offered a grain offering.
Should I receive comfort in ⚓these?
⁷“On⚓ a lofty and high mountain
You have set ⚓your bed;
Even there you went up
To offer sacrifice.
⁸Also behind the doors and their posts
You have set up your remembrance;
For you have uncovered yourself to those other than Me,
And have gone up to them;
You have enlarged your bed
And made a covenant with them;
⚓You have loved their bed,
Where you saw their nudity.
⁹⚓You went to the king with ointment,
And increased your perfumes;
You sent your ⚓messengers far off,
And even descended to Sheol.
¹⁰You are wearied in the length of your way;
⚓Yet you did not say, ‘There is no hope.’
You have found the life of your hand;
Therefore you were not grieved.
¹¹“And ⚓of whom have you been afraid, or feared,
That you have lied
And not remembered Me,
Nor taken it to your heart?
Is it not because ⚓I have held My peace from of old
That you do not fear Me?
¹²I will declare your righteousness
And your works,
For they will not profit you.
¹³When you cry out,
Let your collection of idols deliver you.
But the wind will carry them all away,
A breath will take them.
But he who puts his trust in Me shall possess the land,
And shall inherit My holy mountain.”

Healing for the Backslider

¹⁴And one shall say,
⚓“Heap it up! Heap it up!
Prepare the way,
Take the stumbling block out of the way of My people.”
¹⁵For thus says the High and Lofty One
Who inhabits eternity, ⚓whose name is Holy:
⚓“I dwell in the high and holy place,
⚓With him who has a contrite and humble spirit,
⚓To revive the spirit of the humble,
And to revive the heart of the contrite ones.
¹⁶⚓For I will not contend forever,
Nor will I always be angry;
For the spirit would fail before Me,
And the souls ⚓which I have made.
¹⁷For the iniquity of ⚓his covetousness
I was angry and struck him;
⚓I hid and was angry,
⚓And he went on backsliding in the way of his heart.
¹⁸I have seen his ways, and ⚓will heal him;
I will also lead him,
And restore comforts to him
And to ⚓his mourners.
¹⁹“I create ⚓the fruit of the lips:
Peace, peace ⚓to him who is far off and to him who is near,”
Says the Lord,
“And I will heal him.”
²⁰⚓But the wicked are like the troubled sea,
When it cannot rest,
Whose waters cast up mire and dirt.
²¹“There⚓ is no peace,”
Says my God, “for the wicked.”

以色列拜偶像被定罪

¹義人死亡，
無人放在心上；
虔誠的人被接去，
無人理解；
義人被接去，以免禍患。
²行為正直的人進入平安，
得以在床上安歇⚓。
³到這裏來吧！
你們這些巫婆的兒子，
姦夫和妓女的後代；
⁴你們向誰戲笑？
向誰張口吐舌呢？
你們豈不是叛逆所生的兒女，
虛謊所生的後代嗎？
⁵你們在橡樹⚓中間，在各青翠的樹下慾火攻心；
在山谷間，在巖隙下殺了兒女；
⁶去拜谷中光滑的石頭有你們的份，
這些就是你們的命運。
你向它們獻澆酒祭，獻供物，
這事我豈能容忍嗎？
⁷你在高而又高的山上安設床舖，
上那裏去獻祭。
⁸你在門後，在門框後，
立起你的牌來；
你離棄了我，赤露己身，
又爬上自己所鋪寬闊的床鋪，
與它們立約；
你喜愛它們的床，看着它們的赤體⚓。
⁹你帶了油到摩洛⚓那裏，
加上許多香水。
你派遣使者往遠方去，
甚至降到陰間，
¹⁰因路途遙遠，你就疲倦，
卻不說，這是枉然，
以為能找到復興之力，
所以不覺疲憊。

¹¹你怕誰，因誰恐懼，
竟說謊，不記得我，
不將這事放在心上。
是否因我許久閉口不言，
你就不怕我了呢？
¹²我可以宣告你的公義和你的作為，
但它們與你無益。
¹³你哀求的時候，
讓你所搜集的神像⚓拯救你吧！
風要把它們全都颳散，
吹一口氣就都吹走。
但那投靠我的必得地產，
承受我的聖山為業。

上帝應許幫助和醫治

¹⁴耶和華說：
「你們要修築，修築，要預備道路，
除掉我百姓路中的絆腳石。」
¹⁵那至高無上、永遠長存、
名為聖者的如此說：
「我住在至高至聖的所在，
卻與心靈痛悔的謙卑人同住；
要使謙卑的人心靈甦醒，
使痛悔的人內心復甦。
¹⁶我必不長久控訴，也不永遠懷怒，
因為我雖使靈性發昏，我也造了人的氣息。
¹⁷我因人貪婪的罪孽，發怒擊打他；
我轉臉向他發怒，
他卻仍隨意背道而行。
¹⁸我看見他的行為，
要醫治他，引導他⚓，
使他和與他一同哀傷的人都得安慰。
¹⁹我要醫治他，
他要結出嘴唇的果實。
平安，平安，歸給遠處和近處的人！
這是耶和華說的。」
²⁰但是惡人好像翻騰的海，
不得平靜；
其中的水常湧出污穢和淤泥。
²¹我的上帝說：「惡人必不得平安！」
