The Ark Brought to Jerusalem
1Again David gathered all the choice men of Israel, thirty thousand.
2And ⚓David arose and went with all the people who were with him from Baale Judah to bring up from there the ark of God, whose name is called by the Name, the Lord of Hosts, ⚓who dwells between the cherubim.
3So they set the ark of God on a new cart, and brought it out of the house of Abinadab, which was on ⚓the hill; and Uzzah and Ahio, the sons of Abinadab, drove the new cart.
4And they brought it out of ⚓the house of Abinadab, which was on the hill, accompanying the ark of God; and Ahio went before the ark.
5Then David and all the house of Israel ⚓played music before the Lord on all kinds of instruments of fir wood, on harps, on stringed instruments, on tambourines, on sistrums, and on cymbals.
6And when they came to ⚓Nachon’s threshing floor, Uzzah put out his⚓hand to the ark of God and took hold of it, for the oxen stumbled.
7Then the anger of the Lord was aroused against Uzzah, and God struck him there for his error; and he died there by the ark of God.
8And David became angry because of the Lord’s outbreak against Uzzah; and he called the name of the place Perez Uzzah to this day.
9⚓David was afraid of the Lord that day; and he said, “How can the ark of the Lord come to me?”
10So David would not move the ark of the Lord with him into the ⚓City of David; but David took it aside into the house of Obed-Edom the ⚓Gittite.
11⚓The ark of the Lord remained in the house of Obed-Edom the Gittite three months. And the Lord⚓blessed Obed-Edom and all his household.
12Now it was told King David, saying, “The Lord has blessed the house of Obed-Edom and all that belongs to him, because of the ark of God.” ⚓So David went and brought up the ark of God from the house of Obed-Edom to the City of David with gladness.
13And so it was, when ⚓those bearing the ark of the Lord had gone six paces, that he sacrificed ⚓oxen and fatted sheep.
14Then David ⚓danced before the Lord with all his might; and David was wearing ⚓a linen ephod.
15⚓So David and all the house of Israel brought up the ark of the Lord with shouting and with the sound of the trumpet.
16Now as the ark of the Lord came into the City of David, ⚓Michal, Saul’s daughter, looked through a window and saw King David leaping and whirling before the Lord; and she despised him in her heart.
17So ⚓they brought the ark of the Lord, and set it in ⚓its place in the midst of the tabernacle that David had erected for it. Then David ⚓offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before the Lord.
18And when David had finished offering burnt offerings and peace offerings, ⚓he blessed the people in the name of the Lord of hosts.
19⚓Then he distributed among all the people, among the whole multitude of Israel, both the women and the men, to everyone a loaf of bread, a piece of meat, and a cake of raisins. So all the people departed, everyone to his house.
20⚓Then David returned to bless his household. And Michal the daughter of Saul came out to meet David, and said, “How glorious was the king of Israel today, ⚓uncovering himself today in the eyes of the maids of his servants, as one of the ⚓base fellows shamelessly uncovers himself!”
21So David said to Michal, “It was before the Lord, ⚓who chose me instead of your father and all his house, to appoint me ruler over the ⚓people of the Lord, over Israel. Therefore I will play music before the Lord.
22And I will be even more undignified than this, and will be humble in my own sight. But as for the maidservants of whom you have spoken, by them I will be held in honor.”
23Therefore Michal the daughter of Saul had no children ⚓to the day of her death.

Vua Đa-vít Quyết Định Dời Rương Giao Ước Về Thành Giê-ru-sa-lem
1Vua Đa-vít lại tập hợp toàn quân tinh nhuệ trong Y-sơ-ra-ên, số là ba mươi ngàn người.
2Vua dẫn toàn quân đến thành Ba-a-la trong xứ Giu-đa⚓ để thỉnh rương giao ước của Đức Chúa Trời về. Rương giao ước mang danh của CHÚA Vạn Quân. Ngài đặt ngôi của Ngài trên các thần hộ giá, trên nắp rương.
3Họ đặt rương giao ước của Đức Chúa Trời lên một cỗ xe mới, đem ra khỏi nhà ông A-bi-na-đáp ở trên đồi. Ông U-xa và ông A-hi-giô, hai người con của ông A-bi-na-đáp, dẫn chiếc xe mới đi.
4Họ dẫn xe ra khỏi nhà ông A-bi-na-đáp ở trên đồi, trên xe có rương giao ước của Đức Chúa Trời, ông U-xa đi bên cạnh rương⚓ và ông A-hi-giô đi trước rương.
5Vua Đa-vít và toàn dân Y-sơ-ra-ên vui mừng nhảy múa trước mặt CHÚA, theo tiếng đàn của đủ loại nhạc cụ bằng gỗ tùng như đàn hạc và đàn lia, có đệm theo tiếng trống con, chũm chọe, thanh la.
6Khi đến sân đạp lúa của Na-côn, bò vấp chân, nên ông U-xa giơ tay ra đỡ rương giao ước của Đức Chúa Trời.
7CHÚA nổi giận với ông U-xa. Đức Chúa Trời đánh phạt ông ngay tại chỗ vì cử chỉ sơ ý đó.⚓ Ông chết ngay đó, cạnh bên rương giao ước của Đức Chúa Trời.
8Vua Đa-vít buồn bực vì CHÚA đã đánh chết ông U-xa, khiến cho dòng dõi ông bị đứt đoạn; vua gọi nơi đó là Pê-rết U-xa⚓ tên này vẫn còn cho đến nay.
9Ngày hôm ấy, vua Đa-vít sợ CHÚA và tự nhủ: “Làm sao tôi dám đem rương giao ước của CHÚA về với tôi được?”
10Vua Đa-vít không muốn đem rương giao ước của CHÚA về thành Đa-vít với mình nên chuyển hướng, đưa rương về nhà ông Ô-bết Ê-đôm, quê ở thành Gát.
11Rương giao ước của CHÚA ở ba tháng trong nhà của ông Ô-bết Ê-đôm, người thành Gát. CHÚA ban phước cho ông Ô-bết Ê-đôm và cả gia đình ông.
Rương Giao Ước Về Thành Giê-ru-sa-lem
12Có người báo tin cho vua Đa-vít: “Vì rương giao ước của Đức Chúa Trời, CHÚA có ban phước cho gia đình ông Ô-bết Ê-đôm và mọi tài sản của ông.” Vua liền đi thỉnh rương giao ước của Đức Chúa Trời từ nhà ông Ô-bết Ê-đôm lên thành Đa-vít với lễ tiệc liên hoan.
13Khi những người khiêng rương giao ước của CHÚA đi được sáu bước, vua dâng một con bò đực béo tốt làm sinh tế.
14Để tôn vinh CHÚA, vua Đa-vít quấn chiếc ê-phót bằng vải lanh ngang hông, ra sức nhảy múa quay cuồng,
15trong khi vua và toàn dân Y-sơ-ra-ên thỉnh rương giao ước của CHÚA về giữa tiếng reo mừng với tiếng tù và.
16Khi rương giao ước của CHÚA vào thành Đa-vít, bà Mi-canh, ái nữ vua Sau-lơ, nhìn qua cửa sổ, thấy vua Đa-vít nhảy múa quay cuồng trước mặt CHÚA. Bà đem lòng khinh dể vua.
17Người ta đem rương giao ước của CHÚA đặt vào chỗ dành riêng cho rương trong lều vua Đa-vít dựng sẵn, rồi vua Đa-vít dâng lên CHÚA sinh tế toàn thiêu và sinh tế liên hoan.
18Khi vua Đa-vít dâng các sinh tế toàn thiêu và sinh tế liên hoan xong, vua nhân danh CHÚA Vạn Quân chúc phước cho dân.
19Rồi vua phân phát cho toàn dân, cho toàn thể đám đông người Y-sơ-ra-ên, cả nam lẫn nữ, mỗi người một ổ bánh mì, một miếng thịt nướng và một cái bánh nho khô. Sau đó, mọi người ai nấy về nhà mình.
20Vua Đa-vít cũng về nhà chúc phước cho gia đình mình. Bà Mi-canh, ái nữ vua Sau-lơ, ra đón vua Đa-vít. Bà nói: “Hôm nay vua Y-sơ-ra-ên thật đã tự làm cho mình nên tôn trọng khi vua nhảy múa để lộ thân hình mình ra trước mặt bọn nữ tỳ của triều thần y như một người chẳng ra gì!”
21Vua Đa-vít đáp: “Ta nhảy múa để tôn vinh CHÚA, là Đấng đã chọn ta thay vì thân phụ nàng và cả gia đình thân phụ nàng. Ngài lập ta lên chỉ huy dân Y-sơ-ra-ên của CHÚA. Vì thế ta vui mừng nhảy múa để tôn vinh CHÚA.
22Và ta sẽ làm cho mình nên khinh hèn hơn nữa, ta sẽ tự hạ mình xuống thấp hơn nữa. Còn bọn nữ tỳ nàng vừa nhắc đến, chính họ sẽ tôn trọng ta.”
23Vì vậy, bà Mi-canh, ái nữ vua Sau-lơ, không có con cho đến ngày qua đời.
