Vision of the Locusts

¹Thus the Lord God showed me: Behold, He formed locust swarms at the beginning of the late crop; indeed it was the late crop after the king’s mowings. ²And so it was, when they had finished eating the grass of the land, that I said:
“O Lord God, forgive, I pray!
⚓Oh, that Jacob may stand,
For he is small!”
³So⚓the Lord relented concerning this.
“It shall not be,” said the Lord.

Vision of the Fire

⁴Thus the Lord God showed me: Behold, the Lord God called for conflict by fire, and it consumed the great deep and devoured the territory. ⁵Then I said:
“O Lord God, cease, I pray!
⚓Oh, that Jacob may stand,
For he is small!”
⁶So the Lord relented concerning this.
“This also shall not be,” said the Lord God.

Vision of the Plumb Line

⁷Thus He showed me: Behold, the Lord stood on a wall made with a plumb line, with a plumb line in His hand. ⁸And the Lord said to me, “Amos, what do you see?”
And I said, “A plumb line.”
Then the Lord said:
“Behold, ⚓I am setting a plumb line
In the midst of My people Israel;
⚓I will not pass by them anymore.
⁹⚓The high places of Isaac shall be desolate,
And the sanctuaries of Israel shall be laid waste.
⚓I will rise with the sword against the house of Jeroboam.”

Amaziah’s Complaint

¹⁰Then Amaziah the ⚓priest of ⚓Bethel sent to ⚓Jeroboam king of Israel, saying, “Amos has conspired against you in the midst of the house of Israel. The land is not able to bear all his words. ¹¹For thus Amos has said:
‘Jeroboam shall die by the sword,
And Israel shall surely be led away ⚓captive
From their own land.’ ”
¹²Then Amaziah said to Amos:
“Go, you seer!
Flee to the land of Judah.
There eat bread,
And there prophesy.
¹³But ⚓never again prophesy at Bethel,
⚓For it is the king’s sanctuary,
And it is the royal residence.”
¹⁴Then Amos answered, and said to Amaziah:
“I was no prophet,
Nor was I ⚓a son of a prophet,
But I was a ⚓sheepbreeder
And a tender of sycamore fruit.
¹⁵Then the Lord took me as I followed the flock,
And the Lord said to me,
‘Go, ⚓prophesy to My people Israel.’
¹⁶Now therefore, hear the word of the Lord:
You say, ‘Do not prophesy against Israel,
And ⚓do not spout against the house of Isaac.’
¹⁷“Therefore⚓ thus says the Lord:
⚓‘Your wife shall be a harlot in the city;
Your sons and daughters shall fall by the sword;
Your land shall be divided by survey line;
You shall die in a ⚓defiled land;
And Israel shall surely be led away captive
From his own land.’ ”

¹Yiang Sursĩ Ncháu Nheq Tữh Cũai sapáh yỗn cứq hữm muoi ranáq salễh neq: Cứq hữm Ncháu tễng sampứh lam. Bo ki la catữ moâm noau roaiq bát yỗn puo, cớp bát mbỡiq dáh loah tamái.⚓ ²Tâng ŏ́c sapáh ki cứq hữm sampứh lam toâq cha dũ ramứh sarnóh ramoong tâng cloong cutễq. Chơ cứq pai neq: “Ơ Yiang Sursĩ Ncháu Nheq Tữh Cũai ơi! Sễq anhia táh lôih yỗn máh cũai I-sarel. Yuaq alới cỡt tỗp cacớt cớp ieuq lứq.”
³Chơ Yiang Sursĩ ralêq loah mứt án, cớp pai neq: “Máh ranáq mới khoiq hữm ki, lứq tỡ bữn toâq mŏ.”

Amôt Hữm Ũih

⁴Yiang Sursĩ Ncháu Nheq Tữh Cũai sapáh yỗn cứq hữm muoi ranáq salễh ễn neq: Cứq hữm Ncháu thrũan ũih dŏq manrap cũai I-sarel. Ũih ki blữ cat dếh dỡq mưt yỗn cỡt sarễt khỗ nheq tâng cốc cutễq nâi; ũih ki cat dếh cutễq hỡ. ⁵Chơ cứq pai neq: “Ơ Yiang Sursĩ Ncháu Nheq Tữh Cũai ơi! Sễq anhia sarũiq táq tỗp I-sarel yỗn bữn tamoong. Yuaq tỗp alới la tỗp cacớt cớp ieuq lứq.”
⁶Chơ Yiang Sursĩ, la Ncháu nheq tữh cũai, ralêq mứt pahỡm sĩa cớp pai neq: “Máh ranáq nâi lứq tỡ bữn toâq mŏ.”

Amôt Hữm Samữ Chiaq

⁷Yiang Sursĩ sapáh muoi ranáq salễh ễn neq: Yiang Sursĩ tayứng cheq muoi lám viang ca noau chiaq toâq samữ. Tâng atĩ án yống samữ noau chiaq. ⁸Chơ Yiang Sursĩ blớh cứq neq: “Amôt ơi! Ntrớu noâq mới hữm?”
Cứq ta‑ỡi: “Cứq hữm samữ chiaq noau ayŏ́ng dŏq.”
Chơ Yiang Sursĩ pai neq: “Nhêng chu nâi! Cứq ĩt samữ nâi dŏq apáh yỗn noau dáng cũai proai cứq la samoât viang tỡ bữn tanoang. Cứq tỡ bữn ralêq noâng ễ manrap alới. ⁹Máh ntốq tŏ́ng toiq I-sac⚓ dốq rôm sang toam, nỡ‑ra noau talốh nheq. Ntốq tỗp I-sarel dốq sang toam cứq, lứq cỡt rúng ralốh nheq. Cứq ễ táq yỗn tŏ́ng toiq puo Yê-rabũam cuchĩt thréc nheq.”

Amôt Cớp Ama-siah

¹⁰Chơ Ama-siah, la cũai tễng rit sang tâng vil Bet-el, cơiq parnai atỡng Yê-rabũam puo I-sarel dáng neq: “Amôt ntôm aloŏh ngê ễ chíl anhia, tâng tỗp I-sarel nâi toâp. Máh santoiq án pai ễ talốh cruang cutễq nâi. ¹¹Amôt pai neq: ‘Yê-rabũam cóq cuchĩt tâng ntốq rachíl! Cớp máh cũai I-sarel pĩeiq noau cỗp dững chu cruang canŏ́h ca yơng tễ tâm cutễq alới.’”
¹²Chơ Ama-siah pai chóq Amôt neq: “Péq chơ, mới chỗi atỡng noâng parnai Yiang Sursĩ! O mới píh chu loah pỡ cruang Yuda, cớp atỡng parnai Yiang Sursĩ pỡ ntốq ki ễn, dŏq alới ki chứm siem dỡi tamoong mới. ¹³Chỗi pau atỡng noâng parnai Yiang Sursĩ tâng vil Bet-el nâi, yuaq ntốq nâi la ntốq puo sang toam, cớp ntốq máh cũai tâng cruang nâi dốq sang toam.”
¹⁴Amôt ta‑ỡi loah neq: “Cứq tỡ cỡn cũai atỡng parnai Yiang Sursĩ ễq cũai canŏ́h chứm siem cứq. Cứq la cũai bán charán cớp sama nỡm tarúng. ¹⁵Ma Yiang Sursĩ yỗn cứq táh ranáq bán cữu; cớp án ớn cứq pau atỡng parnai án yỗn máh cũai I-sarel proai án têq dáng. ¹⁶Sanua cóq mới tamứng máh santoiq Yiang Sursĩ pai. Mới ớn cứq chỗi atỡng parnai Yiang Sursĩ, cớp chỗi pai santoiq chíl máh cũai I-sarel. ¹⁷Cỗ tian ngkíq Yiang Sursĩ pai neq: ‘Nỡ‑ra, lacuoi mới toâp cỡt mansễm chếq tỗ tâng vil nâi. Máh con mansễm samiang mới pĩeiq noau cachĩt tâng ntốq rachíl. Tâm cutễq mới noau tampễq yỗn cũai canŏ́h ễn ndỡm. Chơ mới cuchĩt tâng cruang cũai ca tỡ bữn sa‑âm Yiang Sursĩ. Cớp cũai proai I-sarel, lứq noau cỗp dững chu cruang canŏ́h ca yơng lứq.’”
