1On the third day a wedding took place at Cana in Galilee. Jesus’ mother was there, 2and Jesus and his disciples had also been invited to the wedding. 3When the wine was gone, Jesus’ mother said to him, “They have no more wine.” 4“Woman,⚓why do you involve me?” Jesus replied. “My hour has not yet come.” 5His mother said to the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.” 6Nearby stood six stone water jars, the kind used by the Jews for ceremonial washing, each holding from twenty to thirty gallons.⚓ 7Jesus said to the servants, “Fill the jars with water”; so they filled them to the brim. 8Then he told them, “Now draw some out and take it to the master of the banquet.” They did so, 9and the master of the banquet tasted the water that had been turned into wine. He did not realize where it had come from, though the servants who had drawn the water knew. Then he called the bridegroom aside 10and said, “Everyone brings out the choice wine first and then the cheaper wine after the guests have had too much to drink; but you have saved the best till now.” 11What Jesus did here in Cana of Galilee was the first of the signs through which he revealed his glory; and his disciples believed in him. 12After this he went down to Capernaum with his mother and brothers and his disciples. There they stayed for a few days.
Jesus Clears the Temple Courts
13When it was almost time for the Jewish Passover, Jesus went up to Jerusalem. 14In the temple courts he found people selling cattle, sheep and doves, and others sitting at tables exchanging money. 15So he made a whip out of cords, and drove all from the temple courts, both sheep and cattle; he scattered the coins of the money changers and overturned their tables. 16To those who sold doves he said, “Get these out of here! Stop turning my Father’s house into a market!”17His disciples remembered that it is written: “Zeal for your house will consume me.”⚓ 18The Jews then responded to him, “What sign can you show us to prove your authority to do all this?” 19Jesus answered them, “Destroy this temple, and I will raise it again in three days.” 20They replied, “It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and you are going to raise it in three days?” 21But the temple he had spoken of was his body. 22After he was raised from the dead, his disciples recalled what he had said. Then they believed the scripture and the words that Jesus had spoken. 23Now while he was in Jerusalem at the Passover Festival, many people saw the signs he was performing and believed in his name.⚓24But Jesus would not entrust himself to them, for he knew all people. 25He did not need any testimony about mankind, for he knew what was in each person.

Tiệc Cưới Tại Ca-na
1Ba ngày sau, có một tiệc cưới ở Ca-na, miền Ga-li-lê. Mẹ Đức Giê-su có mặt tại đó. 2Đức Giê-su và các môn-đệ cũng được mời dự tiệc. 3Khi thiếu rượu, mẹ Đức Giê-su bảo Ngài: “Người ta hết rượu rồi!” 4Đức Giê-su nói: “Thưa mẹ, việc của Con có can hệ gì đến mẹ, giờ Con chưa đến!” 5Mẹ Ngài nói với những người hầu tiệc: “Người bảo sao hãy làm vậy!” 6Tại đó có sáu cái vại bằng đá, mỗi cái chứa khoảng tám mươi đến một trăm hai mươi lít nước, dùng cho tục lệ tẩy sạch của người Do Thái. 7Đức Giê-su bảo: “Hãy đổ nước đầy các vại nầy đi!” Họ đổ đầy tới miệng vại. 8Rồi Ngài tiếp: “Bây giờ hãy múc đem cho người quản tiệc.” Vậy họ mang đến cho ông ấy. 9Khi người quản tiệc nếm nước đã biến thành rượu, (chẳng biết rượu từ đâu đến, nhưng những người hầu tiệc đã múc nước thì biết rõ) ông gọi chú rể 10bảo: “Người ta ai cũng đãi rượu ngon trước, còn rượu dở dành cho lúc khách đã say, riêng anh thì giữ rượu ngon cho đến bây giờ!” 11Thế là tại Ca-na, miền Ga-li-lê, Đức Giê-su thực hiện dấu lạ đầu tiên và bày tỏ vinh quang Ngài, nên các môn đệ tin Ngài. 12Sau đó, Chúa cùng với mẹ, các em và môn đệ xuống thành Ca-pha-na-um, nhưng chỉ ghé lại ít ngày thôi.
Dọn Sạch Đền Thờ
(Mat 21:12-13; Mác 11:15-17; Lu 19:45-46)
13Gần đến lễ Vượt Qua của người Do Thái, Đức Giê-su lên thành Giê-ru-sa-lem. 14Ngài thấy trong sân đền thờ người thì buôn bán bò, chiên, bồ câu; kẻ lại ngồi đổi bạc. 15Ngài bện dây roi, đánh đuổi tất cả ra khỏi đền thờ luôn với chiên bò. Ngài vứt tung tiền và lật đổ bàn ghế của người đổi bạc. 16Ngài truyền lệnh cho những người bán bồ câu: “Dẹp sạch những thứ nầy đi! Đừng biến nhà Cha Ta thành nơi buôn bán!” 17Môn đệ Ngài nhớ lời Kinh Thánh: “Nhiệt tình về nhà Chúa thiêu đốt tôi!”⚓ 18Còn người Do Thái vặn hỏi Ngài: “Ông có dấu lạ gì để chứng tỏ ông có quyền hành động như vậy?” 19Đức Giê-su trả lời: “Phá hủy thánh điện⚓ nầy đi rồi trong ba ngày Ta sẽ dựng lại!” 20Người Do Thái hỏi lại: “Người ta phải mất bốn mươi sáu năm để xây thánh điện này mà ông chỉ cần ba ngày để dựng lại sao?” 21Nhưng thánh điện Ngài nói đây là thân xác Ngài. 22Vì vậy, sau khi Ngài sống lại, các môn đệ mới nhớ ra là Ngài đã nói như vậy, nên họ tin Kinh Thánh⚓ và lời Đức Giê-su dạy.
Chúa Biết Lòng Người
23Khi Đức Giê-su ở Giê-ru-sa-lem trong kỳ lễ Vượt Qua, nhiều người tin danh Ngài vì thấy những dấu lạ Ngài đã làm, 24nhưng Đức Giê-su không tin cậy họ vì Ngài biết tất cả mọi người. 25Không cần ai làm chứng về loài người vì Ngài biết rõ lòng dạ con người.
