1Therefore, laying aside all malice, all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and all evil speaking, 2as newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby, 3if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is gracious.

The Chosen Stone and His Chosen People

4Coming to Him as to a living stone, rejected indeed by men, but chosen by God and precious, 5you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. 6Therefore it is also contained in the Scripture,
  “Behold, I lay in Zion
   A chief cornerstone, elect, precious,
   And he who believes on Him will by no means be put to shame.”
7Therefore, to you who believe, He is precious; but to those who are disobedient,
  “The stone which the builders rejected
   Has become the chief cornerstone,”
8and
  “A stone of stumbling
   And a rock of offense.”
They stumble, being disobedient to the word, to which they also were appointed.
9But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; 10who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy.

Living Before the World

11Beloved, I beg you as sojourners and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts which war against the soul, 12having your conduct honorable among the Gentiles, that when they speak against you as evildoers, they may, by your good works which they observe, glorify God in the day of visitation.

Submission to Government

13Therefore submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord’s sake, whether to the king as supreme, 14or to governors, as to those who are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers and for the praise of those who do good. 15For this is the will of God, that by doing good you may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men— 16as free, yet not using liberty as a cloak for vice, but as bondservants of God. 17Honor all people. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king.

Submission to Masters

18Servants, be submissive to your masters with all fear, not only to the good and gentle, but also to the harsh. 19For this iscommendable, if because of conscience toward God one endures grief, suffering wrongfully. 20For what credit is it if, when you are beaten for your faults, you take it patiently? But when you do good and suffer, if you take it patiently, this is commendable before God. 21For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps:
  22“Who committed no sin,
   Nor was deceit found in His mouth”;
23who, when He was reviled, did not revile in return; when He suffered, He did not threaten, but committed Himself to Him who judges righteously; 24who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed. 25For you were like sheep going astray, but have now returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.

4Hriê bĕ giăm Ñu, Pô jing Boh Tâo hdĭp, phung mnuih hngah leh ƀiădah jing Pô Aê Diê ruah leh anăn yap yuôm. 5Diih msĕ si boh tâo hdĭp, brei Aê Diê mdơ̆ng diih pô hlăm sa boh sang myang, čiăng jing phung khua ngă yang doh jăk, čiăng myơr mnơ̆ng ngă yang myang bi mơak kơ Aê Diê hlăm Yêsu Krist. 6 Kyuadah Klei Aê Diê Blŭ čih leh:
  “Nĕ anei, kâo dưm ti ƀuôn Siôn sa klŏ boh tâo jing boh tâo kiêng,
   kâo ruah leh leh anăn yap yuôm,
  leh anăn hlei pô đăo kơ ñu Aê Diê amâo srăng bi luč klei čang hmăng ñu ôh.”
7 Kyuanăn kơ diih phung đăo leh, boh tâo anei jing yuôm; ƀiădah kơ phung amâo đăo ôh,
  “Boh tâo phung ngă sang hngah leh,
   jing hĕ leh boh tâo phŭn ti kiêng,”
8 leh anăn
  “Sa klŏ boh tâo bi têč hnêč phung mnuih,
   leh anăn boh tâo prŏng bi lĕ buh diñu.”
Diñu čah boh tâo anăn kyuadah diñu amâo gưt ôh kơ klei blŭ, tui si Aê Diê čuăn leh kơ diñu ngă.
9 Ƀiădah diih jing sa phung găp djuê Aê Diê ruah leh, phung khua ngă yang kơ mtao, sa phung găp djuê doh jăk, phung ƀuôn sang Aê Diê pô, čiăng kơ diih dưi hưn bruă yuôm bhăn Pô iêu leh diih kbiă mơ̆ng klei mmăt truh kơ klei mngač yuôm bhăn Ñu. 10 Mphŭn dô diih amâo jing sa phung ƀuôn sang ôh, ƀiădah ară anei diih jing leh phung ƀuôn sang Aê Diê. Mphŭn dô diih amâo tuôm mă tŭ ôh klei Aê Diê pap, ƀiădah ară anei diih mă tŭ leh klei pap anăn.

11Ơ phung kâo khăp, ti lăn ala anei diih jing msĕ si phung tue leh anăn phung dôk ti êngao čar pô, kâo kwưh kơ diih brei diih hngah hĕ kơ klei kđeh tluh dôk bi blah ngă kơ mngăt diih. 12Brei diih dôk dơ̆ng ƀơ̆ng huă jăk nanao ti krah phung amâo đăo, čiăng kơ tơdah diñu mčeh kơ diih jing mnuih ngă jhat, diñu dưi ƀuh bruă jăk diih ngă leh anăn mpŭ mni kơ Aê Diê ti hruê Ñu srăng lŏ hriê.
13Kyua Khua Yang, brei diih gưt jih phung khua mnuih mkŏ mjing leh, thâodah kơ mtao jing pô prŏng hĭn, 14amâodah kơ khua prŏng jing dĭng ktang mtao tiŏ hriê čiăng bi kmhal phung ngă klei jhat leh anăn bi mni kơ phung ngă klei jăk. 15Kyuadah snei jing klei Aê Diê čiăng: hŏng klei ngă klei jăk diih srăng brei klei blŭ hơăi mang phung mluk mgu dôk ñăt. 16Hdĭp bĕ msĕ si phung mnuih êngiê, ƀiădah đăm yua ôh klei êngiê jing mnơ̆ng mdăp klei jhat; ƀiădah brei diih hdĭp msĕ si phung dĭng buăl Aê Diê. 17Mpŭ bĕ kơ jih jang mnuih. Khăp bĕ kơ phung ayŏng adei đăo. Huĭ mpŭ bĕ kơ Aê Diê. Mpŭ bĕ kơ mtao.

18Ơ phung dĭng buăl, đup gưt bĕ kơ phung khua diih hŏng klei mpŭ sĭt, amâo djŏ ôh knŏng kơ phung khua jăk leh anăn êmhač, ƀiădah wăt kơ phung khua mâo knuih khăng msĕ mơh. 19Jăk jĭn yơh kơ pô thâo klei Aê Diê čiăng, tơdah ñu tŭ klei knap mñai amâo djŏ kyua klei soh ñu ngă ôh. 20Kyuadah ya klei yuôm tơdah diih gĭr tŭ klei arăng čăm kyua diih ngă soh? Ƀiădah tơdah diih ngă klei jăk, leh anăn gĭr tŭ klei knap mñai kyua klei anăn, Aê Diê srăng tŭ diih. 21Kyua kơ klei anăn Aê Diê iêu leh diih, kyuadah Krist msĕ mơh tŭ leh klei knap mñai kyua diih, čiăng brei kơ diih klei bi hmô, čiăng kơ diih tui hlue kru Ñu.

23 Tơdah arăng dlao wač kơ Ñu, Ñu amâo lŏ dlao wač kơ arăng ôh; tơdah Ñu tŭ klei knap mñai, Ñu amâo arưp aram ôh.
