Chúa Dự Tiệc Cưới Tại Ca-na

¹Qua ngày thứ ba, có một tiệc cưới tại Ca-na, trong miền Ga-li-lê, và mẹ của Ðức Chúa Jesus có ở đó. ²Ðức Chúa Jesus và các môn đồ Ngài cũng được mời đến dự tiệc cưới. ³Vừa khi hết rượu, mẹ của Ðức Chúa Jesus nói với Ngài, “Họ hết rượu rồi.”
⁴Ðức Chúa Jesus nói với bà, “Mẹ à, mẹ và con phải lo việc nầy sao? Chưa đến giờ của con mà.”
⁵Mẹ Ngài nói với những người giúp việc, “Hễ Người bảo chi, các bạn hãy làm theo.”
⁶Lúc ấy tại đó có sáu chum bằng đá để dùng trong tục lệ thanh tẩy của người Do-thái, mỗi chum chứa khoảng một trăm lít nước. ⁷Ðức Chúa Jesus bảo họ, “Hãy đổ nước đầy các chum nầy.” Họ đổ nước đầy tới miệng. ⁸Ngài lại bảo, “Bây giờ hãy múc ra và đem đến người quản tiệc.” Họ mang đến người quản tiệc. ⁹Khi người quản tiệc nếm thì nước đã biến thành rượu rồi, và ông không biết rượu ấy từ đâu mà có, nhưng mấy người giúp việc đã múc nước thì biết rõ. Người quản tiệc gọi chàng rể đến ¹⁰và nói, “Mọi người đều đãi rượu ngon trước, sau khi quan khách đã ngà ngà say mới đem rượu thường ra, còn anh lại giữ rượu ngon đến giờ nầy!”
¹¹Ðức Chúa Jesus đã làm phép lạ đầu tiên ấy tại Ca-na, trong miền Ga-li-lê. Ngài bày tỏ vinh hiển của Ngài, và các môn đồ Ngài tin Ngài.
¹²Sau đó Ngài, mẹ Ngài, các em trai Ngài, và các môn đồ Ngài đi xuống Ca-phác-na-um. Họ ở lại đó ít ngày.

Chúa Dẹp Sạch Ðền Thờ

(Mat 21:12-13; Mác 11:15-17; Lu 19:45-46)

¹³Gần đến Lễ Vượt Qua của người Do-thái, Ðức Chúa Jesus đi lên Giê-ru-sa-lem. ¹⁴Ngài thấy trong đền thờ những kẻ buôn bán bò, chiên, bồ câu, và những người ngồi đổi tiền. ¹⁵Ngài lấy dây nhỏ bện thành cái roi, rồi đuổi họ, cùng với chiên và bò, ra khỏi đền thờ. Ngài đổ bạc và lật bàn của những người đổi tiền. ¹⁶Ngài nói với những người bán bồ câu rằng, “Hãy đem những thứ nầy ra khỏi đây. Ðừng biến nhà Cha Ta thành nơi buôn bán.”
¹⁷Các môn đồ Ngài nhớ lại những gì đã chép rằng,
“Lòng nhiệt thành về nhà Chúa sẽ thiêu đốt con.”
¹⁸Người Do-thái cất tiếng hỏi Ngài, “Thầy có phép lạ gì cho chúng tôi thấy để chứng tỏ Thầy có quyền làm những điều nầy?”
¹⁹Ðức Chúa Jesus trả lời và nói với họ, “Hãy phá đền thờ nầy đi, trong ba ngày Ta sẽ dựng nó lại.”
²⁰Bấy giờ người Do-thái nói, “Ðền thờ nầy phải mất bốn mươi sáu năm mới xây xong, mà Thầy sẽ dựng lại trong ba ngày sao?” ²¹Nhưng đền thờ Ngài nói chỉ về thân thể Ngài. ²²Vì thế sau khi Ngài từ cõi chết sống lại, các môn đồ Ngài nhớ lại Ngài đã nói điều nầy; họ tin Kinh Thánh và tin những lời Ðức Chúa Jesus đã nói.
²³Khi Ðức Chúa Jesus ở Giê-ru-sa-lem trong dịp Lễ Vượt Qua; trong kỳ lễ nhiều người tin danh Ngài vì thấy những phép lạ Ngài làm. ²⁴Nhưng Ðức Chúa Jesus không tin họ, vì Ngài biết rõ mọi người. ²⁵Ngài không cần ai làm chứng về người nào, vì Ngài thấu hiểu mọi sự trong lòng người.

Water Turned to Wine

¹On the third day there was a ⚓wedding in ⚓Cana of Galilee, and the ⚓mother of Jesus was there. ²Now both Jesus and His disciples were invited to the wedding. ³And when they ran out of wine, the mother of Jesus said to Him, “They have no wine.”
⁴Jesus said to her, ⚓“Woman, ⚓what does your concern have to do with Me? ⚓My hour has not yet come.”
⁵His mother said to the servants, “Whatever He says to you, do it.”
⁶Now there were set there six waterpots of stone, ⚓according to the manner of purification of the Jews, containing twenty or thirty gallons apiece. ⁷Jesus said to them, “Fill the waterpots with water.” And they filled them up to the brim. ⁸And He said to them, “Draw some out now, and take it to the master of the feast.” And they took it. ⁹When the master of the feast had tasted ⚓the water that was made wine, and did not know where it came from (but the servants who had drawn the water knew), the master of the feast called the bridegroom. ¹⁰And he said to him, “Every man at the beginning sets out the good wine, and when the guests have well drunk, then the inferior. You have kept the good wine until now!”
¹¹This ⚓beginning of signs Jesus did in Cana of Galilee, ⚓and manifested His glory; and His disciples believed in Him.
¹²After this He went down to ⚓Capernaum, He, His mother, ⚓His brothers, and His disciples; and they did not stay there many days.

Jesus Cleanses the Temple

¹³⚓Now the Passover of the Jews was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. ¹⁴⚓And He found in the temple those who sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the money changers doing business. ¹⁵When He had made a whip of cords, He drove them all out of the temple, with the sheep and the oxen, and poured out the changers’ money and overturned the tables. ¹⁶And He said to those who sold doves, “Take these things away! Do not make ⚓My Father’s house a house of merchandise!” ¹⁷Then His disciples remembered that it was written, ⚓“Zeal for Your house has eaten Me up.”
¹⁸So the Jews answered and said to Him, ⚓“What sign do You show to us, since You do these things?”
¹⁹Jesus answered and said to them, ⚓“Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.”
²⁰Then the Jews said, “It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and will You raise it up in three days?”
²¹But He was speaking ⚓of the temple of His body. ²²Therefore, when He had risen from the dead, ⚓His disciples remembered that He had said this to them; and they believed the Scripture and the word which Jesus had said.

The Discerner of Hearts

²³Now when He was in Jerusalem at the Passover, during the feast, many believed in His name when they saw the ⚓signs which He did. ²⁴But Jesus did not commit Himself to them, because He ⚓knew all men, ²⁵and had no need that anyone should testify of man, for ⚓He knew what was in man.
