Immorality Defiles the Church

¹It is actually reported that there is sexual immorality among you, and such sexual immorality as is not even named among the Gentiles—that a man has his father’s ⚓wife! ²⚓And you are puffed up, and have not rather ⚓mourned, that he who has done this deed might be taken away from among you. ³⚓For I indeed, as absent in body but present in spirit, have already judged (as though I were present) him who has so done this deed. ⁴In the ⚓name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when you are gathered together, along with my spirit, ⚓with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ, ⁵⚓deliver such a one to ⚓Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that his spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.
⁶⚓Your glorying is not good. Do you not know that ⚓a little leaven leavens the whole lump? ⁷Therefore purge out the old leaven, that you may be a new lump, since you truly are unleavened. For indeed ⚓Christ, our ⚓Passover, was sacrificed for us. ⁸Therefore ⚓let us keep the feast, ⚓not with old leaven, nor ⚓with the leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

Immorality Must Be Judged

⁹I wrote to you in my epistle ⚓not to keep company with sexually immoral people. ¹⁰Yet I certainly did not mean with the sexually immoral people of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or idolaters, since then you would need to go ⚓out of the world. ¹¹But now I have written to you not to keep company ⚓with anyone named a brother, who is sexually immoral, or covetous, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or an extortioner—⚓not even to eat with such a person.
¹²For what have I to do with judging those also who are outside? Do you not judge those who are inside? ¹³But those who are outside God judges. Therefore ⚓“put away from yourselves the evil person.”

¹Có tin đồn rằng trong anh em có sự dâm loạn, một thứ dâm loạn đến nỗi ngay cả các dân ngoại cũng không có như thế; vì có kẻ đã ăn nằm với vợ kế của cha mình!⚓ ²Thế mà anh em còn vênh vang! Đáng ra anh em phải than khóc và loại trừ kẻ làm điều đó ra khỏi anh em! ³Vì tôi, thân tuy xa cách, nhưng tâm linh thì ở đó. Tôi đã lên án kẻ làm điều ấy, như thể tôi đang có mặt tại đó. ⁴Khi anh em nhóm lại, tâm linh tôi cũng hiện diện cùng với quyền năng của Chúa chúng ta là Đức Chúa Jêsus; nhân danh Chúa là Đức Chúa Jêsus, ⁵chúng ta phó kẻ như thế cho Sa-tan hủy hoại phần thân xác để phần tâm linh được cứu trong ngày của Chúa.
⁶Sự kiêu căng của anh em chẳng có gì tốt đẹp cả. Anh em không biết rằng một chút men đủ làm dậy cả đống bột sao?⚓ ⁷Hãy làm sạch men cũ đi, để anh em có thể trở thành một đống bột mới không men, như anh em thật sự là bánh không men vậy. Vì Đấng Christ, Chiên Con lễ Vượt Qua của chúng ta đã được dâng làm sinh tế rồi.⚓ ⁸Vậy, chúng ta hãy kỷ niệm lễ Vượt Qua, chớ dùng men cũ, là men hiểm độc và gian ác, mà hãy dùng bánh không men của sự thành thật và chân lý.⚓
⁹Trong thư viết cho anh em, tôi đã dặn đừng giao tiếp với những kẻ gian dâm. ¹⁰Tôi không có ý nói đến những kẻ gian dâm ở thế gian nầy, hay những kẻ tham lam và trộm cướp, hoặc những kẻ thờ thần tượng, vì nếu vậy thì anh em phải rời bỏ thế gian nầy. ¹¹Nhưng điều tôi viết cho anh em là đừng giao tiếp với bất cứ người nào tự xưng là anh em mà lại gian dâm, hoặc tham lam, hoặc thờ thần tượng, hoặc chưởi rủa, hoặc say sưa, hoặc trộm cướp, cũng không nên ăn chung với người như vậy. ¹²Tôi xét xử những người ở ngoài để làm gì? Chẳng phải anh em nên xét xử những người ở trong sao? ¹³Đức Chúa Trời sẽ xét xử những kẻ ở ngoài.
“Hãy loại trừ những kẻ gian ác ra khỏi anh em.” ⚓
