David Prepares to Build the Temple

¹Then David said, ⚓“This is the house of the Lord God, and this is the altar of burnt offering for Israel.” ²So David commanded to gather the ⚓aliens who were in the land of Israel; and he appointed masons to ⚓cut hewn stones to build the house of God. ³And David prepared iron in abundance for the nails of the doors of the gates and for the joints, and bronze in abundance ⚓beyond measure, ⁴and cedar trees in abundance; for the ⚓Sidonians and those from Tyre brought much cedar wood to David.
⁵Now David said, ⚓“Solomon my son is young and inexperienced, and the house to be built for the Lordmust be exceedingly magnificent, famous and glorious throughout all countries. I will now make preparation for it.” So David made abundant preparations before his death.
⁶Then he called for his son Solomon, and charged him to build a house for the Lord God of Israel. ⁷And David said to Solomon: “My son, as for me, ⚓it was in my mind to build a house ⚓to the name of the Lord my God; ⁸but the word of the Lord came to me, saying, ⚓‘You have shed much blood and have made great wars; you shall not build a house for My name, because you have shed much blood on the earth in My sight. ⁹⚓Behold, a son shall be born to you, who shall be a man of rest; and I will give him ⚓rest from all his enemies all around. His name shall be Solomon, for I will give peace and quietness to Israel in his days. ¹⁰⚓He shall build a house for My name, and ⚓he shall be My son, and I will be his Father; and I will establish the throne of his kingdom over Israel forever.’ ¹¹Now, my son, may ⚓the Lord be with you; and may you prosper, and build the house of the Lord your God, as He has said to you. ¹²Only may the Lord⚓give you wisdom and understanding, and give you charge concerning Israel, that you may keep the law of the Lord your God. ¹³⚓Then you will prosper, if you take care to fulfill the statutes and judgments with which the Lord charged Moses concerning Israel. ⚓Be strong and of good courage; do not fear nor be dismayed. ¹⁴Indeed I have taken much trouble to prepare for the house of the Lord one hundred thousand talents of gold and one million talents of silver, and bronze and iron ⚓beyond measure, for it is so abundant. I have prepared timber and stone also, and you may add to them. ¹⁵Moreover there are workmen with you in abundance: woodsmen and stonecutters, and all types of skillful men for every kind of work. ¹⁶Of gold and silver and bronze and iron there is no limit. Arise and begin working, and ⚓the Lord be with you.”
¹⁷David also commanded all the ⚓leaders of Israel to help Solomon his son, saying, ¹⁸“Is not the Lord your God with you? ⚓And has He not given you rest on every side? For He has given the inhabitants of the land into my hand, and the land is subdued before the Lord and before His people. ¹⁹Now set your heart and your soul to seek the Lord your God. Therefore arise and build the sanctuary of the Lord God, to ⚓bring the ark of the covenant of the Lord and the holy articles of God into the house that is to be built ⚓for the name of the Lord.”

¹大卫说：“这是耶和华上帝的殿，这是以色列献燔祭的坛。”

筹备建殿

²大卫吩咐人召集住以色列地的寄居者，又派石匠凿石头，要建造上帝的殿。 ³大卫预备许多铁，要做门上的钉子和钩子，又预备许多铜，多得无法可秤； ⁴还有无数的香柏木，因为西顿人和推罗人给大卫运了许多香柏木来。 ⁵大卫说：“我儿子所罗门还年幼脆弱，要为耶和华建造的殿宇必须高大辉煌，使名声荣耀传遍万国，所以我要为殿预备。”于是，大卫在未死之前预备了许多材料。
⁶大卫召了他儿子所罗门来，吩咐他为耶和华－以色列的上帝建造殿宇。 ⁷大卫对所罗门说：“我儿啊，我心里本想为耶和华－我上帝的名建造殿宇， ⁸可是耶和华的话临到我说：‘你流了许多的血，打了多次大仗；你不可为我的名建造殿宇，因为你在我面前使许多血流在地上。 ⁹看哪，你要生一个儿子，他必成为安宁的人；我必使他得享安宁，不被四围仇敌扰乱。他的名字要叫所罗门⚓，在他的日子，我必使以色列平安康泰。 ¹⁰他必为我的名建造殿宇。他要作我的子，我要作他的父。我必坚定他国度的王位，使他治理以色列，直到永远。’ ¹¹我儿啊，现今愿耶和华与你同在，使你亨通，建造耶和华－你上帝的殿，正如他指着你所说的。 ¹²但愿耶和华赐你聪明智慧，好按着他吩咐你的去治理以色列，遵行耶和华－你上帝的律法。 ¹³那时候，你若谨守遵行耶和华藉摩西吩咐以色列的律例典章，就得亨通。你当刚强壮胆，不要惧怕，也不要惊惶。 ¹⁴看哪，我辛苦地为耶和华的殿预备了十万他连得金子，一百万他连得银子，铜和铁多得无法可秤；我也预备了木头、石头，你还可以增添。 ¹⁵你有许多工匠，就是石匠、木匠，和一切能做各样工的巧匠， ¹⁶以及无数的金银铜铁。你当起来做工，愿耶和华与你同在。”
¹⁷大卫又吩咐以色列的众官长帮助他儿子所罗门： ¹⁸“耶和华－你们的上帝不是与你们同在吗？他不是使你们四围都平安吗？因他已将这地的居民交在我手中，这地已在耶和华与他百姓面前制伏了。 ¹⁹现在你们应当立定心意，寻求耶和华－你们的上帝。你们当起来建造耶和华上帝的圣所，好将耶和华的约柜和上帝神圣的器皿都搬进为耶和华的名建造的殿里。”
