1Behold ⚓what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that ⚓we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, ⚓because it did not know Him.
2Beloved, ⚓now we are children of God; and ⚓it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, ⚓we shall be like Him, for ⚓we shall see Him as He is.
3⚓And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.
Sin and the Child of God
4Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and ⚓sin is lawlessness.
5And you know ⚓that He was manifested ⚓to take away our sins, and ⚓in Him there is no sin.
6Whoever abides in Him does not sin. Whoever sins has neither seen Him nor known Him.
7Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous.
8⚓He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, ⚓that He might destroy the works of the devil.
9Whoever has been ⚓born of God does not sin, for ⚓His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God.
The Imperative of Love
10In this the children of God and the children of the devil are manifest: Whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is he who does not love his brother.
11For this is the message that you heard from the beginning, ⚓that we should love one another,
12not as ⚓Cain who was of the wicked one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his works were evil and his brother’s righteous.
13Do not marvel, my brethren, if ⚓the world hates you.
14We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love the brethren. He who does not love his brother abides in death.
15⚓Whoever hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that ⚓no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.
The Outworking of Love
16⚓By this we know love, ⚓because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.
17But ⚓whoever has this world’s goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him?
18My little children, ⚓let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth.
19And by this we know ⚓that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before Him.
20⚓For if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and knows all things.
21Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, ⚓we have confidence toward God.
22And ⚓whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments ⚓and do those things that are pleasing in His sight.
23And this is His commandment: that we should believe on the name of His Son Jesus Christ ⚓and love one another, as He gave us commandment.
The Spirit of Truth and the Spirit of Error
24Now ⚓he who keeps His commandments ⚓abides in Him, and He in him. And ⚓by this we know that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us.

3Grăp čô mâo klei čang hmăng anei hlăm Krist bi doh ñu pô msĕ si Krist pô jing doh.
4Grăp čô ngă soh jing gao klei bhiăn; kyua klei soh jing klei gao klei bhiăn.
5 Diih thâo Yêsu bi êdah leh čiăng mă hĕ klei soh, leh anăn hlăm Ñu amâo mâo klei soh ôh.
6Hlei pô dôk hlăm Ñu amâo ngă soh ôh; hlei pô ngă soh amâo tuôm ƀuh Ñu ôh, kăn thâo kral Ñu rei.
7Ơ phung anak điêt, đăm brei arăng mplư diih ôh. Hlei pô ngă klei kpă jing kpă, msĕ si Krist jing kpă.
8Hlei pô ngă soh jing anak yang jhat; kyuadah yang jhat ngă soh leh mơ̆ng mphŭn dơ̆ng. Anak Aê Diê bi êdah leh čiăng bi rai bruă yang jhat.
9Hlei pô Aê Diê kkiêng leh amâo ngă klei soh ôh; kyuadah mjeh Aê Diê dôk hlăm ñu, leh anăn ñu amâo dưi lŏ ngă soh ôh, kyuadah Aê Diê kkiêng kơ ñu leh.
10Hŏng klei anei arăng dưi thâo kral hlei jing phung anak Aê Diê leh anăn hlei jing phung anak yang jhat: hlei pô amâo ngă klei kpă amâo kbiă hriê mơ̆ng Aê Diê ôh, kăn rei pô amâo khăp kơ ayŏng adei ñu.

11 Kyuadah klei mtô anei jing klei diih hmư̆ leh mơ̆ng mphŭn dơ̆ng, brei drei bi khăp hdơ̆ng drei pô,
12 đăm jing msĕ si Y-Kain ôh, pô kbiă hriê mơ̆ng yang jhat leh anăn bi mdjiê hĕ adei ñu. Ya ngă ñu bi mdjiê gơ̆? Kyuadah bruă ñu pô jing jhat leh anăn bruă adei ñu jing kpă.
13Ơ phung ayŏng adei, đăm bi kngăr ôh tơdah lăn ala bi êmut kơ diih.
14 Drei thâo kơ drei kbiă leh mơ̆ng klei djiê mŭt hlăm klei hdĭp, kyuadah drei khăp kơ phung ayŏng adei. Hlei pô amâo thâo khăp ôh ăt dôk hlăm klei djiê.
15Hlei pô bi êmut kơ ayŏng adei ñu jing pô bi mdjiê mnuih; leh anăn diih thâo kơ pô bi mdjiê mnuih amâo mâo ôh klei hdĭp hlŏng lar dôk hlăm ñu.
16Hŏng klei anei drei thâo kral klei khăp: Ñu săn asei mlei leh kyua drei; leh anăn jing djŏ kơ drei msĕ mơh săn asei mlei kyua phung ayŏng adei.
17Tơdah arăng mâo ngăn dŏ lăn ala anei leh anăn ƀuh ayŏng adei ñu mâo klei kƀah, ƀiădah kđăl ai tiê kơ gơ̆, si klei Aê Diê khăp dưi dôk hlăm ñu lĕ?
18Ơ phung anak điêt, đăm drei khăp knŏng hŏng boh blŭ leh anăn ti êlah kƀuê ôh, ƀiădah hŏng klei ngă leh anăn hŏng klei sĭt.
Klei Jhŏng Ti Anăp Aê Diê
19Hŏng klei anăn drei thâo kơ drei jing dŏ klei sĭt nik, leh anăn ai tiê drei dưi dôk hơĭt ti anăp Ñu.
20Tơdah ai tiê drei kčŭt kơ drei, kyuadah Aê Diê jing prŏng hĭn kơ ai tiê drei, leh anăn Ñu thâo jih jang mnơ̆ng.
21Ơ phung kâo khăp, tơdah ai tiê drei amâo kčŭt kơ drei ôh, drei mâo klei knang kjăp ti anăp Aê Diê;
22leh anăn drei mă tŭ mơ̆ng Ñu ya klei drei akâo, kyuadah drei gưt kơ klei Ñu mtă, leh anăn ngă klei bi mơak kơ Ñu.
