Luật thanh tẩy người mẹ sau khi sinh con
1Đức Giê-hô-va phán với Môi-se rằng:
2“Con hãy bảo dân Y-sơ-ra-ên:
‘Khi một phụ nữ mang thai và sinh con trai thì sẽ bị ô uế trong bảy ngày, như trong kỳ kinh nguyệt.
3Đến ngày thứ tám phải làm lễ cắt bì cho đứa trẻ.⚓
4Người phụ nữ ấy phải ngồi nhà thêm ba mươi ba ngày nữa cho trọn thời kỳ thanh tẩy. Bà ấy không được đụng đến vật thánh hay đi vào nơi thánh, cho đến khi kỳ thanh tẩy chấm dứt.
5Còn nếu sinh con gái thì người phụ nữ sẽ bị ô uế trong hai tuần như trong kỳ kinh nguyệt. Sau đó, bà phải ngồi nhà thêm sáu mươi sáu ngày nữa cho trọn thời kỳ thanh tẩy.
6Khi kỳ thanh tẩy chấm dứt, dù sinh con trai hay con gái, người phụ nữ ấy phải đem đến cho thầy tế lễ tại cửa Lều Hội Kiến một chiên con một tuổi để làm tế lễ thiêu và một bồ câu hoặc một chim gáy để làm tế lễ chuộc tội.
7Thầy tế lễ sẽ dâng sinh tế đó trước mặt Đức Giê-hô-va để làm lễ thanh tẩy cho bà, và bà sẽ được thanh sạch sau khi mất huyết. Đây là luật liên quan đến người phụ nữ sinh con trai hay con gái.
8Nếu người phụ nữ không đủ khả năng dâng một chiên con thì phải dâng một cặp chim gáy hoặc một cặp bồ câu con, một con làm tế lễ thiêu, một con làm tế lễ chuộc tội. Thầy tế lễ sẽ làm lễ thanh tẩy cho bà và bà sẽ được thanh sạch.’”⚓

The Ritual After Childbirth
1Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,
2“Speak to the children of Israel, saying: ‘If a ⚓woman has conceived, and borne a male child, then ⚓she shall be unclean seven days; ⚓as in the days of her customary impurity she shall be unclean.
3And on the ⚓eighth day the flesh of his foreskin shall be circumcised.
4She shall then continue in the blood of her purification thirty-three days. She shall not touch any hallowed thing, nor come into the sanctuary until the days of her purification are fulfilled.
5‘But if she bears a female child, then she shall be unclean two weeks, as in her customary impurity, and she shall continue in the blood of her purification sixty-six days.
6⚓‘When the days of her purification are fulfilled, whether for a son or a daughter, she shall bring to the priest a ⚓lamb of the first year as a burnt offering, and a young pigeon or a turtledove as a ⚓sin offering, to the door of the tabernacle of meeting.
7Then he shall offer it before the Lord, and make atonement for her. And she shall be clean from the flow of her blood. This is the law for her who has borne a male or a female.
8⚓‘And if she is not able to bring a lamb, then she may bring two turtledoves or two young pigeons—one as a burnt offering and the other as a sin offering. ⚓So the priest shall make atonement for her, and she will be clean.’ ”
