¹In that day the Lord with His severe sword, great and strong,
Will punish Leviathan the fleeing serpent,
⚓Leviathan that twisted serpent;
And He will slay ⚓the reptile that is in the sea.

The Restoration of Israel

²In that day ⚓sing to her,
⚓“A vineyard of red wine!
³⚓I, the Lord, keep it,
I water it every moment;
Lest any hurt it,
I keep it night and day.
⁴Fury is not in Me.
Who would set ⚓briers and thorns
Against Me in battle?
I would go through them,
I would burn them together.
⁵Or let him take hold ⚓of My strength,
That he may ⚓make peace with Me;
And he shall make peace with Me.”
⁶Those who come He shall cause ⚓to take root in Jacob;
Israel shall blossom and bud,
And fill the face of the world with fruit.
⁷⚓Has He struck Israel as He struck those who struck him?
Or has He been slain according to the slaughter of those who were slain by Him?
⁸⚓In measure, by sending it away,
You contended with it.
⚓He removes it by His rough wind
In the day of the east wind.
⁹Therefore by this the iniquity of Jacob will be covered;
And this is all the fruit of taking away his sin:
When he makes all the stones of the altar
Like chalkstones that are beaten to dust,
Wooden images and incense altars shall not stand.
¹⁰Yet the fortified city will be⚓desolate,
The habitation forsaken and left like a wilderness;
There the calf will feed, and there it will lie down
And consume its branches.
¹¹When its boughs are withered, they will be broken off;
The women come and set them on fire.
For ⚓it is a people of no understanding;
Therefore He who made them will ⚓not have mercy on them,
And ⚓He who formed them will show them no favor.
¹²And it shall come to pass in that day
That the Lord will thresh,
From the channel of the River to the Brook of Egypt;
And you will be ⚓gathered one by one,
O you children of Israel.
¹³⚓So it shall be in that day:
⚓The great trumpet will be blown;
They will come, who are about to perish in the land of Assyria,
And they who are outcasts in the land of ⚓Egypt,
And shall ⚓worship the Lord in the holy mount at Jerusalem.

Giải phóng Y-sơ-ra-ên

¹Ngày ấy, Chúa sẽ đâm chết "lê-vi-a-than" con quái vật dưới biển, con rắn nhặm lẹ uốn khúc với lưỡi kiếm lớn, bén nhọn và đáng sợ⚓ của Ngài. ²Ngày ấy người ta sẽ hát bài này về sự giải phóng Y-sơ-ra-ên: ³Y-Sơ-ra-ên là vườn nho Ta. Ta, Đấng Hằng Hữu bảo vệ nó, tưới nước liên tiếp và chăm sóc ngày đêm, không cho ai phá hoại. ⁴Cơn phẫn nộ Ta đã dứt. Nếu vườn mọc gai dại, cỏ hoang, Ta sẽ đốt đi. ⁵Hoặc giả Y-sơ-ra-ên sẽ bám chặt lấy Ta, nương nhờ sức mạnh Ta để làm hòa với Ta. Phải, hãy làm hòa với Ta."
⁶Sẽ đến ngày Gia-cốp đâm rễ, nứt lộc, trổ hoa và cung cấp nho cho cả thế giới.
^7,8Y-sơ-ra-ên có bị Chúa trừng phạt nặng nề như các thù nghịch nó không? Không, quân thù bị tiêu diệt nhưng Y-sơ-ra-ên chỉ bị trừng phạt nhẹ, bị lưu đày đến một miền xa lạ như bị bão tố phương đông nổi lên càn quét. ⁹Vì sao Chúa làm việc ấy? Chỉ vì mục đích tẩy thanh gian ác của Y-sơ-ra-ên, dẹp sạch các bàn thờ và thần tượng. Tượng đá vỡ tan và nát ra như bột phấn; các thần tượng và trụ đá đổ xuống, không bao giờ dựng lại. ¹⁰Các thành lũy kiên cố và đồng cỏ xanh tươi trở thành hoang vắng, và im lìm như sa mạc. Bò con sẽ đến ăn cỏ rồi nằm xuống gặm nhắm các cành cây khô.
¹¹Y-sơ-ra-ên giống như những cành khô gãy xuống. Đàn bà đến lượm đem về chụm bếp. Thật là một dân tộc dại khờ vì họ khước từ Đấng Tạo hóa mình. Vì thế Ngài không thương xót và làm ơn cho họ nữa. ¹²Nhưng sẽ đến ngày Chúa làm xáo trộn các nước từ Lưỡng hà đến Ai-cập,⚓ đem từng người Y-sơ-ra-ên về nước, như người ta lượm từng hạt trên sân đạp lúa. ¹³Ngày ấy, có tiếng kèn thổi vang lừng. Những người lưu lạc đang ở rải rác từ Lưỡng-hà⚓ đến Ai-cập sẽ quay về thờ phượng Chúa Hằng Hữu trên Núi thánh tại Giê-ru-sa-lem.
