Gióp tôn cao quyền năng và khôn ngoan của Đức Chúa Trời

¹Gióp lên tiếng đáp lại:
²“Anh thật khéo giúp đỡ người cô thế!
Tiếp cứu người yếu đuối!
³Khuyên giải người kém khôn ngoan,
Và đưa ra bao lời khuyên sáng suốt!
⁴Anh giảng giải những điều đó cho ai?
Linh nào đã nói qua miệng anh?

⁵Vong linh người chết quằn quại dưới kia,
Nước và mọi vật sống trong nước cũng vậy.
⁶Âm phủ lộ ra trước mặt Đức Chúa Trời,
Địa ngục không có màn che.
⁷Chúa trải phương bắc ra trên vùng trống,
Treo trái đất lơ lửng trong không gian.
⁸Ngài gói nước trong các đám mây Ngài,
Nhưng mây không vỡ ra vì nước ấy.
⁹Ngài bao phủ ngai Ngài,
Và giăng trải mây Ngài trên đó.
¹⁰Ngài đã vẽ một vòng tròn trên mặt nước,
Tại ranh giới giữa ánh sáng và bóng tối.
¹¹Những trụ cột của các tầng trời rúng động,
Và sững sờ khi Ngài quở trách.
¹²Ngài dùng quyền năng làm sóng yên biển lặng;
Lấy tri thức mà đánh gục Ra-háp.⚓
¹³Hơi thở Chúa làm bầu trời trong sáng;
Tay Ngài xuyên thủng rắn yêu tinh.
¹⁴Đây chỉ là những phác họa về công việc Ngài,
Là những tiếng thầm thì mà chúng ta nghe được về Ngài;
Còn tiếng sấm rền vang về quyền năng Ngài, mấy ai hiểu hết?”

Job

¹Then Job replied:
²“How you have helped the powerless!
How you have saved the arm that is feeble!
³What advice you have offered to one without wisdom!
And what great insight you have displayed!
⁴Who has helped you utter these words?
And whose spirit spoke from your mouth?

⁵“The dead are in deep anguish,
those beneath the waters and all that live in them.
⁶The realm of the dead is naked before God;
Destruction⚓ lies uncovered.
⁷He spreads out the northern skies over empty space;
he suspends the earth over nothing.
⁸He wraps up the waters in his clouds,
yet the clouds do not burst under their weight.
⁹He covers the face of the full moon,
spreading his clouds over it.
¹⁰He marks out the horizon on the face of the waters
for a boundary between light and darkness.
¹¹The pillars of the heavens quake,
aghast at his rebuke.
¹²By his power he churned up the sea;
by his wisdom he cut Rahab to pieces.
¹³By his breath the skies became fair;
his hand pierced the gliding serpent.
¹⁴And these are but the outer fringe of his works;
how faint the whisper we hear of him!
Who then can understand the thunder of his power?”
