  1Yixayee yog tsob txiv hmab
uas hlob zoo thiab txi txiv ncw.
  Yimhuab txi txiv ntau
kuj yimhuab ua thaj teev dab ntau.
Thaum lawv lub tebchaws vam meej tuaj,
lawv yimhuab ua tej ncej teev dab
   zoo nkauj tuaj.
  2Lawv lub siab dag,
nimno lawv thiaj yuav tsum ris lawv lub txim.
Yawmsaub yuav tsoo lawv tej thaj pov tseg,
thiab muab lawv tej ncej teev dab
   ua kom puam tsuaj.
3Thaum ntawd lawv yuav hais tias,
  “Peb tsis muaj vajntxwv
vim peb tsis paub ntshai Yawmsaub.
  Yog peb muaj vajntxwv
nws yuav pab tau peb li cas?”
4Lawv hais lus do do xwb,
lawv lam cog lus twv qhuav qhuav xwb.
Vim li no kev ua plaub ua ntug yuav hlav tuaj
yam nkaus li tej nroj tsuag muaj taug
tuaj raws kwj hniav khais hauv daim teb.
5Cov Xamali tshee hnyo vim txhawj txog
tus dab mlom thav nyuj ntawm Npe‑avee.
  Lawv yuav quaj ntsuag
thiab cov pov thawj uas teev dab
yuav quaj nyiav tus dab mlom,
  vim tus dab mlom ntawd
   lub koob meej ploj lawm.
6Tus dab mlom ntawd yuav raug coj mus
rau Axilia tebchaws pub ua tshav ntuj
rau tus vajntxwv uas loj kawg.
Efa‑i yuav raug poob ntsej muag,
   Yixayee yuav txaj muag
vim yog qhov uas ua dab mlom.
7Xamali tus vajntxwv yuav puam tsuaj,
yam nkaus li tej nplais ntoo
   ntab saum nplaim dej mus.
8Tej chaw siab teev dab hauv lub moos Avee,
   uas yog Yixayee lub txim,
   yuav raug puam tsuaj tag.
Tej pos thiab nroj tsuag yuav tuaj
rau saum lawv tej thaj xyeem.
Lawv yuav hais rau tej roob tias,
“Cia li txhub kiag peb lauj,”
thiab hais rau tej pov roob tias,
“Cia li nphau los tsuam peb.”

9“Cov Yixayee 'e, nej yeej ua txhaum
txij thaum ua hauv lub moos Kinpe‑a.
  Lawv tseem ua quj qees
ntawm lub chaw ntawd los li.
Kev ua rog tseem yuav tsis los raug lawv
   ntawm Kinpe‑a lov?
  10Kuv yuav tuaj rau txim
rau cov neeg tawv ncauj ntawd.
Ib tsoom tebchaws yuav sau zog
tuaj ua ke tawm tsam lawv,
  mas lawv yuav raug khi
vim muaj ob npaug kev txhaum.
11Efa‑i yog tus xyuas nyuj uas cob tau,
nws nyiam tsuj qoob hauv lub tshav,
  kuv tsis tau yuam nws
lub cej dab zoo nkauj ua haujlwm hnyav.
Tiamsis kuv yuav muab Efa‑i hai tus quab,
   Yuda yuav tsum laij,
Yakhauj yuav tsum muab lob phuaj sua.
12Cia li tseb txojkev ncaj ncees rau nej tus kheej,
cia li sau tej uas tau ntawm qhov uas hlub kuv,
cia li laij daim teb uas muab tso tseg lawm,
  rau qhov txog sijhawm
   uas yuav mus nrhiav Yawmsaub,
xwv nws thiaj los tso txojkev dim rau nej.
13Nej twb cog txojkev limhiam lawm,
   nej twb sau txojkev phem,
nej twb saws tej uas nej dag tau los noj.
Vim nej tso siab rau nej tej tsheb nees ua rog
thiab tso siab rau nej cov tub rog uas coob coob,
14lub suab ua rog thiaj yuav nrov
tshwm rau hauv nej haiv neeg,
nej tej chaw ruaj khov huvsi
yuav raug muab ua puam tsuaj,
ib yam li Samas muab lub moos Npe Anpee
ua puam tsuaj rau hnub uas ua rog.
  Leej niam raug muab ntsawm
   ntuag ua tej dwb daim
nrog nws cov menyuam ua ke.
  15Cov neeg hauv Npe‑ee 'e,
nej yuav raug li no ntag lauj,
rau qhov nej txojkev limhiam loj kawg li.
Thaum kaj ntug Yixayee tus vajntxwv
yuav raug muab txiav tu nrho.”

  1Israel was a spreading vine;
he brought forth fruit for himself.
  As his fruit increased,
   he built more altars;
  as his land prospered,
   he adorned his sacred stones.
  2Their heart is deceitful,
and now they must bear their guilt.
The Lord will demolish their altars
   and destroy their sacred stones.

3Then they will say, “We have no king
because we did not revere the Lord.
But even if we had a king,
what could he do for us?”
  4They make many promises,
   take false oaths
   and make agreements;
  therefore lawsuits spring up
like poisonous weeds in a plowed field.
5The people who live in Samaria fear
for the calf-idol of Beth Aven.
Its people will mourn over it,
and so will its idolatrous priests,
those who had rejoiced over its splendor,
because it is taken from them into exile.
6It will be carried to Assyria
as tribute for the great king.
  Ephraim will be disgraced;
Israel will be ashamed of its foreign alliances.
  7Samaria’s king will be destroyed,
swept away like a twig on the surface of the waters.
8The high places of wickedness will be destroyed—
it is the sin of Israel.
Thorns and thistles will grow up
   and cover their altars.
Then they will say to the mountains, “Cover us!”
and to the hills, “Fall on us!”

9“Since the days of Gibeah, you have sinned, Israel,
   and there you have remained.
  Will not war again overtake
   the evildoers in Gibeah?
  10When I please, I will punish them;
nations will be gathered against them
to put them in bonds for their double sin.
  11Ephraim is a trained heifer
   that loves to thresh;
so I will put a yoke
   on her fair neck.
  I will drive Ephraim,
   Judah must plow,
and Jacob must break up the ground.
  12Sow righteousness for yourselves,
reap the fruit of unfailing love,
  and break up your unplowed ground;
for it is time to seek the Lord,
  until he comes
and showers his righteousness on you.
  13But you have planted wickedness,
   you have reaped evil,
you have eaten the fruit of deception.
Because you have depended on your own strength
   and on your many warriors,
14the roar of battle will rise against your people,
so that all your fortresses will be devastated—
as Shalman devastated Beth Arbel on the day of battle,
when mothers were dashed to the ground with their children.
15So will it happen to you, Bethel,
   because your wickedness is great.
  When that day dawns,
the king of Israel will be completely destroyed.
