Hai Chứng Nhân Bị Giết Và Sống Lại

¹Tôi được ban cho một cây sậy giống như cái thước và được lệnh: “Con hãy đứng dậy đo đền thờ Đức Chúa Trời và bàn thờ, cùng đếm những người thờ lạy trong đó, ²nhưng bỏ, đừng đo sân ngoài đền thờ vì nó đã được giao cho các dân tộc ngoại quốc. Họ sẽ chà đạp thành thánh trong bốn mươi hai tháng. ³Ta sẽ ban quyền năng cho hai nhân chứng của Ta; họ sẽ mặc bao gai và nói tiên tri suốt một ngàn hai trăm sáu mươi ngày. ⁴Đây là hai cây ô-liu và hai giá đèn đứng trước mặt Chúa Tể thế giới. ⁵Nếu có ai muốn hại họ thì lửa từ miệng họ loè ra đốt chết các kẻ thù nghịch. Ai muốn làm hại họ đều phải bị giết cách ấy. ⁶Hai người có quyền đóng trời lại không cho mưa xuống đất suốt thời gian họ nói tiên tri, cũng có quyền trên nước, biến nước thành máu và giáng mọi tai họa trên đất bất cứ lúc nào họ muốn.
⁷Khi họ hoàn tất cuộc làm chứng, Con Thú từ vực thẳm lên sẽ giao chiến với họ, chiến thắng và giết họ đi. ⁸Thây hai người nằm trên đường phố của thành phố lớn, gọi theo nghĩa bóng là Sô-đôm và Ai-cập, là nơi Chúa của họ đã bị đóng đinh. ⁹Trải qua ba ngày rưỡi, người ta thuộc mọi dân tộc, ngôn ngữ và quốc gia nhìn xem thây hai người và không cho chôn cất. ¹⁰Các dân cả thế giới sẽ vui mừng hớn hở vì hai người đã chết và gửi tặng phẩm chúc mừng nhau, vì hai tiên tri của Chúa đã làm khổ dân cư cả thế giới.
¹¹Nhưng sau ba ngày rưỡi, có sinh khí ra từ Đức Chúa Trời nhập vào trong hai người và họ đứng thẳng lên, khiến những kẻ nhìn xem đều phải khủng khiếp. ¹²Họ nghe một tiếng gọi lớn từ trời bảo: ‘Lên đây!’ Họ lên trời trong một đám mây; các kẻ thù nghịch họ đều nhìn theo.
¹³Trong giờ đó, có cơn động đất lớn, một phần mười thành phố sụp đổ, bảy ngàn người chết trong cơn động đất, và những kẻ còn sống sót đều kinh hoàng và tôn vinh Đức Chúa Trời trên trời.”
¹⁴Tai họa thứ nhì đã qua, kìa, tai họa thứ ba đến mau chóng.

Kèn Thứ Bảy

¹⁵Vị thiên sứ thứ bảy thổi kèn, liền có những tiếng lớn trên trời loan báo:
“Vương quốc của thế gian nay đã trở thành vương quốc của Chúa chúng ta và của Chúa Cứu Thế của Ngài!
Ngài sẽ trị vì đời đời!”
¹⁶Hai mươi bốn trưởng lão đang ngồi trên ngai mình trước mặt Đức Chúa Trời đều sấp mặt xuống, thờ lạy Đức Chúa Trời, ¹⁷và tung hô:
“Chúng con tạ ơn Ngài. Lạy Chúa, Đức Chúa Trời Toàn Năng,
Là Đấng đang có và đã có!
Vì Ngài đã lấy quyền năng vĩ đại
Mà trị vì.
¹⁸Các dân tộc nổi giận
Nhưng cơn thịnh nộ Ngài đã đổ xuống.
Đã đến lúc xử đoán các người chết
Và tưởng thưởng các đầy tớ, tức các tiên tri của Chúa,
Các thánh và các người kính sợ danh Ngài,
Cả lớn lẫn nhỏ,
Cùng hủy diệt những kẻ hủy diệt thế gian.”
¹⁹Lúc ấy, đền thờ Đức Chúa Trời trên trời mở ra, người ta thấy Rương Giao Ước trong đền thờ Ngài, rồi có những chớp nhoáng, tiếng ầm ầm, sấm sét, một cơn động đất và một trận mưa đá lớn.

The Two Witnesses

¹Then I was given ⚓a reed like a measuring rod. And the angel stood, saying, ⚓“Rise and measure the temple of God, the altar, and those who worship there. ²But leave out ⚓the court which is outside the temple, and do not measure it, ⚓for it has been given to the Gentiles. And they will ⚓tread the holy city underfoot for⚓forty-two months. ³And I will give power to my two ⚓witnesses, ⚓and they will prophesy ⚓one thousand two hundred and sixty days, clothed in sackcloth.”
⁴These are the ⚓two olive trees and the two lampstands standing before the God of the earth. ⁵And if anyone wants to harm them, ⚓fire proceeds from their mouth and devours their enemies. ⚓And if anyone wants to harm them, he must be killed in this manner. ⁶These ⚓have power to shut heaven, so that no rain falls in the days of their prophecy; and they have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to strike the earth with all plagues, as often as they desire.

The Witnesses Killed

⁷When they ⚓finish their testimony, ⚓the beast that ascends ⚓out of the bottomless pit ⚓will make war against them, overcome them, and kill them. ⁸And their dead bodies will lie in the street of ⚓the great city which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, ⚓where also our Lord was crucified. ⁹⚓Then those from the peoples, tribes, tongues, and nations will see their dead bodies three-and-a-half days, ⚓and not allow their dead bodies to be put into graves. ¹⁰⚓And those who dwell on the earth will rejoice over them, make merry, ⚓and send gifts to one another, ⚓because these two prophets tormented those who dwell on the earth.

The Witnesses Resurrected

¹¹⚓Now after the three-and-a-half days ⚓the breath of life from God entered them, and they stood on their feet, and great fear fell on those who saw them. ¹²And they heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them, “Come up here.” ⚓And they ascended to heaven ⚓in a cloud, ⚓and their enemies saw them. ¹³In the same hour ⚓there was a great earthquake, ⚓and a tenth of the city fell. In the earthquake seven thousand people were killed, and the rest were afraid ⚓and gave glory to the God of heaven.
¹⁴⚓The second woe is past. Behold, the third woe is coming quickly.

Seventh Trumpet: The Kingdom Proclaimed

¹⁵Then ⚓the seventh angel sounded: ⚓And there were loud voices in heaven, saying, ⚓“The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, ⚓and He shall reign forever and ever!” ¹⁶And ⚓the twenty-four elders who sat before God on their thrones fell on their faces and ⚓worshiped God, ¹⁷saying:
“We give You thanks, O Lord God Almighty,
The One ⚓who is and who was and who is to come,
Because You have taken Your great power ⚓and reigned.
¹⁸The nations were ⚓angry, and Your wrath has come,
And the time of the ⚓dead, that they should be judged,
And that You should reward Your servants the prophets and the saints,
And those who fear Your name, small and great,
And should destroy those who destroy the earth.”
¹⁹Then ⚓the temple of God was opened in heaven, and the ark of His covenant was seen in His temple. And ⚓there were lightnings, noises, thunderings, an earthquake, ⚓and great hail.
