1Moâm ki, bữn máh tỗp Mô-ap, Amôn, cớp Mê-unit pruam parnơi ễ chíl puo Yê-hô-saphat, puo cruang Yuda.
2Bữn noau dững santoiq pau mut atỡng puo Yê-hô-saphat neq: “Bữn muoi tỗp tahan Ê-dôm clứng lứq toâq tễ angia coah tooh dỡq mưt Boi. Tỗp alới khoiq chíl riap vil Hasa-sôn Tamar chơ. (Vil nâi bữn ramứh En Kê-di hỡ.) Sanua alới ntôm toâq ễ chíl anhia ễn.”
3Yê-hô-saphat sâng ngcŏh; chơ án câu sễq tễ Yiang Sursĩ nheq mứt pahỡm. Cớp án ớn noau pỡq pau chũop cruang Yuda yỗn ót sana muoi tangái.
4Cũai proai dũ vil tâng cruang Yuda toâq rôm parnơi dŏq câu sễq yỗn Yiang Sursĩ chuai. Tỗp alới loŏh tễ máh vil alới ỡt, chơ pỡq chu vil Yaru-salem dŏq câu sễq tễ Yiang Sursĩ.
5Yê-hô-saphat tayứng yáng moat máh cũai proai cruang Yuda cớp cũai proai tâng vil Yaru-salem ca toâq rôm parnơi pỡ nchŏh tamái choâng moat Dống Sang Toâr,
6cớp án aloŏh sưong casang câu neq: “Ơ Yiang Sursĩ, Ncháu achúc achiac tỗp hếq, ơi! Tễ pỡng paloŏng anhia ndỡm máh cũai tâng cốc cutễq nâi. Anhia la sốt toâr lứq cớp bữn chớc lứq, tỡ bữn noau khớn catáng anhia.
7Anhia la Ncháu tỗp hếq. Bo máh proai I-sarel toâq tâng cruang cutễq nâi, anhia khoiq tuih aloŏh nheq máh cũai ca ỡt tâng ntốq nâi, chơ chiau cutễq nâi yỗn tŏ́ng toiq A-praham, la yớu ratoi anhia ễn, yỗn cỡt mun tỗp alới níc.
8Nheq tữh tỗp alới bữn ỡt tâng ntốq nâi, cớp táq muoi lám dống toâr dŏq sang toam anhia.
9Hếq dáng samoât lứq, khân ranáq cuchĩt pứt toâq pỡ tỗp hếq na yúc, ỗn, tỡ la panhieih khlac, chơ tỗp hếq tayứng to moat chu Dống Sang Toâr nâi, la ntốq sang toam anhia. Chơ tỗp hếq câu sễq yỗn anhia toâq rachuai bo hếq ramóh túh coat, cớp anhia lứq pachêng cutũr tamứng cớp rachuai tỗp hếq.
10“Ma sanua tỗp Amôn, tỗp Mô-ap, cớp tỗp Ê-dôm ntôm toâq chíl tỗp hếq. Bo nhũang anhia tỡ bữn yỗn cũai I-sarel mut chíl máh cruang ki bo tỗp alới mbỡiq loŏh tễ cruang Ê-yip-tô, ma anhia avĩaq cớp tỡ yỗn pupứt tỗp alới.
11Sanua tỗp alới culáh cóng tỗp hếq na tuih aloŏh tễ cutễq ca anhia khoiq chiau yỗn hếq ndỡm.
12Ơ Yiang Sursĩ, Ncháu hếq, ơi! Sễq anhia yỗn tỗp alới roap tôt, yuaq tỗp hếq tỡ têq táq ntrớu chóq tỗp tahan clứng lứq nâi, la cũai ca ntôm toâq ễ chíl hếq. Tỗp hếq tỡ dáng nŏ́q ễ táq, ma mpỡl poâng canưm cớp sễq anhia toâp rachuai hếq.”
13Bo ki, nheq tữh samiang tâng cruang Yuda cớp máh con lacuoi tỗp alới ỡt tayứng choâng moat Yiang Sursĩ.
14Chơ Raviei Yiang Sursĩ cỡt sốt tâng muoi noaq samiang tễ tỗp Lê-vi, ramứh Ya-hasiel sâu Asap. Ya-hasiel la con samiang Sa-chari, châu Be-naya, chễ Yêl, cho Ma-tania.
15Chơ Ya-hasiel pai neq: “Puo Yê-hô-saphat, cớp nheq tữh cũai proai Yuda, dếh cũai tâng vil Yaru-salem ơi! Yiang Sursĩ pai neq: ‘Anhia chỗi ngcŏh ntrớu, cớp chỗi cỡt pê pahỡm cỗ tễ cũai clứng nâi. Yuaq ranáq rachíl nâi tỡ cỡn khong tỗp anhia, ma cỡt khong Yiang Sursĩ.
16Tangái parnỡ cóq anhia pỡq chíl tỗp alới; anhia lứq ramóh tỗp alới pỡ raláp cóh Sĩt ca ỡt coah angia mandang loŏh yáng ntốq aiq cheq vil Yê-ruol.
17Yúc trỗ nâi tỡ bữn cóq anhia loŏh rachíl. Ma cóq anhia ỡt acoan pỡ ntốq ki, chơ anhia lứq hữm Yiang Sursĩ chíl riap. Ơ cũai Yuda cớp cũai Yaru-salem ơi! Anhia chỗi clơng cớp chỗi ngcŏh ntrớu; cóq anhia loŏh ramóh alới, yuaq Yiang Sursĩ toâp ỡt nứng anhia!’”
18Chơ puo Yê-hô-saphat pũp asễng tâng cutễq, cớp nheq tữh cũai proai la pũp asễng sang toam Yiang Sursĩ.
19Chơ máh cũai Lê-vi tễ sâu Cô-hat cớp tễ sâu Cô-ra yuor tayứng, cớp alới ũat khễn na sưong casang lứq dŏq sang toam Yiang Sursĩ la Ncháu tỗp I-sarel.
20Toâq poang tarưp parnỡ noâng cláih, máh cũai proai pỡq chu ntốq aiq pỡ Tacua. Ma nhũang tỗp alới pỡq, puo Yê-hô-saphat yuor tayứng cớp pai chóq tỗp alới neq: “Máh cũai Yuda cớp cũai Yaru-salem ơi! Cóq anhia tamứng cứq nơ! Cóq anhia sa‑âm Yiang Sursĩ la Ncháu anhia; chơ tỗp anhia bữn ỡt ien khễ níc. Cóq anhia noap samoât samơi lứq máh santoiq cũai tang bỗq Yiang Sursĩ atỡng anhia, chơ anhia têq táq moâm máh ranáq anhia ễ táq.”
21Toâq moâm puo sarhống cớp máh cũai proai, án rưoh máh cũai dŏq ũat cansái ũat sang toam Yiang Sursĩ, dếh tâc tampâc nêuq o dŏq ũat sang toam Yiang Sursĩ. Alới loŏh pỡq nhũang cũai tahan cớp pai neq:
“Lứq khễn Yiang Sursĩ!
Yuaq ŏ́c ayooq Ncháu ỡt mantái níc!”
22Bo tỗp alới ntôm ũat khễn, Yiang Sursĩ táq yỗn tahan tỗp Amôn, Mô-ap, cớp Ê-dôm ca toâq ễ chíl tỗp Yuda, cỡt pứt mứt.
23Tỗp Amôn cớp tỗp Mô-ap mut chíl tahan tỗp Ê-dôm toau cuchĩt thréc nheq. Moâm ki, bar tỗp ki alới rachíl ratuaq ễn.
24Tữ tỗp tahan Yuda pỡq toâq pỡ ngôl kĩaq tâng ntốq aiq ki, alới tapoang nhêng chu tỗp tahan ca par‑ũal alới; chơ alới hữm nheq tữh alới ki cuchĩt thréc nheq, tỡ va khlâiq muoi noaq noâng.
25Chơ puo Yê-hô-saphat cớp tahan án mut ĩt máh crơng crớu alới ki. Bữn ntroŏq, crơng sana, tampâc, cớp máh crơng bữn kia lứq. Tỗp alới parỗm máh crơng ki tâng pái tangái nŏ́q moâm; ma cỗ máh crơng hâp sa‑ữi, ngkíq tỗp alới tỡ loâp ĩt achu dũ ramứh.
26Tâng tangái pỗn, alới toâq rôm parnơi pỡ avúng Be-raca, cớp alới khễn Yiang Sursĩ tâng ntốq ki tễ máh ranáq Ncháu khoiq chuai alới. Yuaq ngkíq, noau dŏq avúng nâi la avúng Be-raca⚓ toau toâq tangái nâi.
27Chơ puo Yê-hô-saphat dững tỗp tahan án píh chu loah pỡ vil Yaru-salem, cớp bữn bũi óh lứq, yuaq Yiang Sursĩ khoiq táq chóq cũai par‑ũal alới cỡt pê.
28Toâq tỗp alới mut tâng clống vil Yaru-salem chơ, tỗp alới pỡq tanoang chu ntốq Dống Sang Toâr, dếh tapáih achúng toâr cớp plóng lavia casang, cỗ alới sâng bũi óh lứq.
29Nheq máh cũai tâng cruang canŏ́h bữn sâng tễ ranáq Yiang Sursĩ táq chóq máh cũai par‑ũal tỗp I-sarel cỡt pê, ki alới sâng ngcŏh lứq.
30Chơ cruang cutễq ca Yê-hô-saphat sốt bữn ien khễ loah, yuaq Yiang Sursĩ táq yỗn án bữn ien khễ dũ angia.
Ranáq Parsốt Tháng Yê-hô-saphat Táq
31Yê-hô-saphat cỡt puo Yuda bo án mbỡiq pái chít la sỡng cumo, cớp án cỡt sốt tâng vil Yaru-salem bar chít la sỡng cumo. Mpiq án ramứh A-suba con Sil-hi.
32Án táq dũ ranáq samoât puo Asa mpoaq án khoiq táq; án tỡ bữn chứng clĩ chóq máh ranáq ki. Án táq tanoang tapứng chóq Yiang Sursĩ.
33Ma án tỡ bữn talốh máh ntốq noau cucốh sang yiang canŏ́h, cớp máh cũai proai noâng tỡ yũah píh sang Yiang Sursĩ achúc achiac alới nheq tễ mứt pahỡm.
34Máh ranáq puo Yê-hô-saphat táq, tễ dâu toau toâq parsốt, noau chĩc dŏq tâng pơ saráq atỡng tễ Yê-hu con samiang Ha-nani, la cỡt muoi pún tê tâng pơ saráq atỡng tễ Ranáq Máh Puo Cũai I-sarel Khoiq Táq.
35Bữn muoi trỗ, Yê-hô-saphat puo Yuda cỡt yớu ratoi cớp Aha-sia puo I-sarel, la cũai táq ranáq sâuq sa‑ữi ramứh.
36Yê-hô-saphat pruam táq parnơi máh tuoc toâr dŏq chếq chỡng pỡ vil Tar-sit; alới táq tuoc ki tâng vil Ê-si-ôn Ki-bơ.
37Ma E-lia-se, con samiang Dô-dava-hu tễ vil Marê-sa, tếq Yê-hô-saphat neq: “Cỗ tian anhia pruam táq ranáq cớp Aha-sia, ngkíq Yiang Sursĩ ễ talốh táh nheq máh ranáq anhia khoiq táq.”
Chơ tỡ bữn dũn, tuoc ki cỡt pacháh, cớp tỡ têq dững chu léq noâng.

Jehoshaphat Defeats Moab and Ammon
1After this, the Moabites and Ammonites with some of the Meunites⚓ came to wage war against Jehoshaphat.
2Some people came and told Jehoshaphat, “A vast army is coming against you from Edom,⚓ from the other side of the Dead Sea. It is already in Hazezon Tamar” (that is, En Gedi).
3Alarmed, Jehoshaphat resolved to inquire of the Lord, and he proclaimed a fast for all Judah.
4The people of Judah came together to seek help from the Lord; indeed, they came from every town in Judah to seek him.
5Then Jehoshaphat stood up in the assembly of Judah and Jerusalem at the temple of the Lord in the front of the new courtyard
6and said:
“Lord, the God of our ancestors, are you not the God who is in heaven? You rule over all the kingdoms of the nations. Power and might are in your hand, and no one can withstand you.
7Our God, did you not drive out the inhabitants of this land before your people Israel and give it forever to the descendants of Abraham your friend?
8They have lived in it and have built in it a sanctuary for your Name, saying,
9‘If calamity comes upon us, whether the sword of judgment, or plague or famine, we will stand in your presence before this temple that bears your Name and will cry out to you in our distress, and you will hear us and save us.’
10“But now here are men from Ammon, Moab and Mount Seir, whose territory you would not allow Israel to invade when they came from Egypt; so they turned away from them and did not destroy them.
11See how they are repaying us by coming to drive us out of the possession you gave us as an inheritance.
12Our God, will you not judge them? For we have no power to face this vast army that is attacking us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you.”
13All the men of Judah, with their wives and children and little ones, stood there before the Lord.
14Then the Spirit of the Lord came on Jahaziel son of Zechariah, the son of Benaiah, the son of Jeiel, the son of Mattaniah, a Levite and descendant of Asaph, as he stood in the assembly.
15He said: “Listen, King Jehoshaphat and all who live in Judah and Jerusalem! This is what the Lord says to you: ‘Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s.
16Tomorrow march down against them. They will be climbing up by the Pass of Ziz, and you will find them at the end of the gorge in the Desert of Jeruel.
17You will not have to fight this battle. Take up your positions; stand firm and see the deliverance the Lord will give you, Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Go out to face them tomorrow, and the Lord will be with you.’ ”
18Jehoshaphat bowed down with his face to the ground, and all the people of Judah and Jerusalem fell down in worship before the Lord.
19Then some Levites from the Kohathites and Korahites stood up and praised the Lord, the God of Israel, with a very loud voice.
20Early in the morning they left for the Desert of Tekoa. As they set out, Jehoshaphat stood and said, “Listen to me, Judah and people of Jerusalem! Have faith in the Lord your God and you will be upheld; have faith in his prophets and you will be successful.”
21After consulting the people, Jehoshaphat appointed men to sing to the Lord and to praise him for the splendor of his⚓ holiness as they went out at the head of the army, saying:
“Give thanks to the Lord,
for his love endures forever.”
22As they began to sing and praise, the Lord set ambushes against the men of Ammon and Moab and Mount Seir who were invading Judah, and they were defeated.
23The Ammonites and Moabites rose up against the men from Mount Seir to destroy and annihilate them. After they finished slaughtering the men from Seir, they helped to destroy one another.
24When the men of Judah came to the place that overlooks the desert and looked toward the vast army, they saw only dead bodies lying on the ground; no one had escaped.
25So Jehoshaphat and his men went to carry off their plunder, and they found among them a great amount of equipment and clothing⚓ and also articles of value—more than they could take away. There was so much plunder that it took three days to collect it.
26On the fourth day they assembled in the Valley of Berakah, where they praised the Lord. This is why it is called the Valley of Berakah⚓ to this day.
27Then, led by Jehoshaphat, all the men of Judah and Jerusalem returned joyfully to Jerusalem, for the Lord had given them cause to rejoice over their enemies.
28They entered Jerusalem and went to the temple of the Lord with harps and lyres and trumpets.
29The fear of God came on all the surrounding kingdoms when they heard how the Lord had fought against the enemies of Israel.
30And the kingdom of Jehoshaphat was at peace, for his God had given him rest on every side.
The End of Jehoshaphat’s Reign
31So Jehoshaphat reigned over Judah. He was thirty-five years old when he became king of Judah, and he reigned in Jerusalem twenty-five years. His mother’s name was Azubah daughter of Shilhi.
32He followed the ways of his father Asa and did not stray from them; he did what was right in the eyes of the Lord.
33The high places, however, were not removed, and the people still had not set their hearts on the God of their ancestors.
34The other events of Jehoshaphat’s reign, from beginning to end, are written in the annals of Jehu son of Hanani, which are recorded in the book of the kings of Israel.
35Later, Jehoshaphat king of Judah made an alliance with Ahaziah king of Israel, whose ways were wicked.
36He agreed with him to construct a fleet of trading ships.⚓ After these were built at Ezion Geber,
37Eliezer son of Dodavahu of Mareshah prophesied against Jehoshaphat, saying, “Because you have made an alliance with Ahaziah, the Lord will destroy what you have made.” The ships were wrecked and were not able to set sail to trade.⚓
