葡萄園之歌

¹我要為我親愛的唱歌，
我所愛的、他的葡萄園之歌。
我親愛的有葡萄園
在肥沃的山岡上。
²他刨挖園子，清除石頭，
栽種上等的葡萄樹，
在園中蓋了一座樓，
又鑿出酒池；
指望它結葡萄，
反倒結了野葡萄。

³耶路撒冷的居民和猶大人哪，
現在，請你們在我與我的葡萄園之間斷定是非。
⁴我為我葡萄園所做的之外，
還有甚麼可做的呢？
我指望它結葡萄，
怎麼倒結了野葡萄呢？

⁵現在我告訴你們，
我要向我的葡萄園怎麼做。
我必撤去籬笆，使它被燒燬；
拆毀圍牆，使它被踐踏。
⁶我必使它荒廢，不再修剪，
不再鋤草，任荊棘蒺藜生長；
我也必吩咐密雲，
不再降雨在其上。

⁷萬軍之耶和華的葡萄園就是以色列家；
他所喜愛的樹就是猶大人。
他指望公平，
看哪，卻有流血；
指望公義，
看哪，卻有冤聲。

人的惡行

⁸禍哉！你們以房接房，
以地連地，
以致不留餘地，
只顧自己獨居境內。
⁹我耳聞萬軍之耶和華說：
「許多房屋必然荒廢；
宏偉華麗，無人居住。
¹⁰十畝⚓的葡萄園只釀出一罷特的酒，
一賀梅珥的穀種只結一伊法糧食。」

¹¹禍哉！那些清晨早起，追尋烈酒，
因酒狂熱，流連到深夜的人，
¹²他們在宴席上
彈琴，鼓瑟，擊鼓，吹笛，飲酒，
卻不留意耶和華的作為，
也不留心他手所做的。
¹³所以，我的百姓因無知就被擄去；
尊貴的人甚是飢餓，
平民也極其乾渴。

¹⁴因此，陰間胃口⚓大開，
張開無限量的口；
令耶路撒冷的貴族與平民、狂歡的與作樂的人
都掉落其中。
¹⁵人為之屈膝，
人就降為卑；
高傲的眼目也降為卑。
¹⁶惟有萬軍之耶和華因公平顯為崇高，
神聖的上帝因公義顯為聖。
¹⁷羔羊必來吃草，如同在自己的草場；
在富有人的廢墟，流浪的牲畜也來吃⚓。

¹⁸禍哉！那些以虛假的繩子牽引罪孽，
以套車的繩索緊拉罪惡的人。
¹⁹他們說：
「任以色列的聖者急速前行，快快成就他的作為，
好讓我們看看；
任他的籌算臨近成就，
好使我們知道。」
²⁰禍哉！那些稱惡為善，稱善為惡，
以暗為光，以光為暗，
以苦為甜，以甜為苦的人。
²¹禍哉！那些在自己眼中有智慧，
在自己面前有通達的人。
²²禍哉！那些以飲酒稱雄，
以調烈酒稱霸的人。
²³他們因受賄賂，就稱惡人為義，
將義人的義奪去。

²⁴火苗怎樣吞滅碎稭，
乾草怎樣落在火焰之中，
照樣，他們的根必然腐朽，
他們的花像灰塵揚起；
因為他們厭棄萬軍之耶和華的教誨，
藐視以色列聖者的言語。
²⁵因此，耶和華的怒氣向他的百姓發作。
他伸手攻擊他們，山嶺就震動；
他們的屍首在街市上好像糞土。
雖然如此，他的怒氣並未轉消，
他的手依然伸出。

²⁶他必豎立大旗，召集遠方的國民，
把他們從地極叫來。
看哪，他們必急速奔來，
²⁷其中沒有疲倦的，絆跌的；
沒有打盹的，睡覺的；
腰帶並不放鬆，
鞋帶也不拉斷。
²⁸他們的箭銳利，
弓也上了弦；
馬蹄如堅石，
車輪像旋風。
²⁹他們要吼叫，像母獅，
咆哮，像少壯獅子；
他們要咆哮，抓取獵物，
穩穩叼走，無人能救回。
³⁰那日，他們要向以色列人咆哮，
像海浪澎湃；
人若望地，看哪，只有黑暗與禍患，
光明因密雲而變黑暗。

God’s Disappointing Vineyard

¹Now let me sing to my Well-beloved
A song of my Beloved ⚓regarding His vineyard:
My Well-beloved has a vineyard
On a very fruitful hill.
²He dug it up and cleared out its stones,
And planted it with the choicest vine.
He built a tower in its midst,
And also made a winepress in it;
⚓So He expected it to bring forth good grapes,
But it brought forth wild grapes.
³“And now, O inhabitants of Jerusalem and men of Judah,
⚓Judge, please, between Me and My vineyard.
⁴What more could have been done to My vineyard
That I have not done in ⚓it?
Why then, when I expected it to bring forth good grapes,
Did it bring forth wild grapes?
⁵And now, please let Me tell you what I will do to My vineyard:
⚓I will take away its hedge, and it shall be burned;
And break down its wall, and it shall be trampled down.
⁶I will lay it ⚓waste;
It shall not be pruned or dug,
But there shall come up briers and ⚓thorns.
I will also command the clouds
That they rain no rain on it.”
⁷For the vineyard of the Lord of hosts is the house of Israel,
And the men of Judah are His pleasant plant.
He looked for justice, but behold, oppression;
For righteousness, but behold, a cry for help.

Impending Judgment on Excesses

⁸Woe to those who join ⚓house to house;
They add field to field,
Till there is no place
Where they may dwell alone in the midst of the land!
⁹⚓In my hearing the Lord of hosts said,
“Truly, many houses shall be desolate,
Great and beautiful ones, without inhabitant.
¹⁰For ten acres of vineyard shall yield one ⚓bath,
And a homer of seed shall yield one ephah.”
¹¹⚓Woe to those who rise early in the morning,
That they may follow intoxicating drink;
Who continue until night, till wine inflames them!
¹²⚓The harp and the strings,
The tambourine and flute,
And wine are in their feasts;
But ⚓they do not regard the work of the Lord,
Nor consider the operation of His hands.
¹³⚓Therefore my people have gone into captivity,
Because they have no ⚓knowledge;
Their honorable men are famished,
And their multitude dried up with thirst.
¹⁴Therefore Sheol has enlarged itself
And opened its mouth beyond measure;
Their glory and their multitude and their pomp,
And he who is jubilant, shall descend into it.
¹⁵People shall be brought down,
⚓Each man shall be humbled,
And the eyes of the lofty shall be humbled.
¹⁶But the Lord of hosts shall be ⚓exalted in judgment,
And God who is holy shall be hallowed in righteousness.
¹⁷Then the lambs shall feed in their pasture,
And in the waste places of ⚓the fat ones strangers shall eat.
¹⁸Woe to those who draw iniquity with cords of vanity,
And sin as if with a cart rope;
¹⁹⚓That say, “Let Him make speed and hasten His work,
That we may see it;
And let the counsel of the Holy One of Israel draw near and come,
That we may know it.”
²⁰Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil;
Who put darkness for light, and light for darkness;
Who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!
²¹Woe to those who are⚓wise in their own eyes,
And prudent in their own sight!
²²Woe to men mighty at drinking wine,
Woe to men valiant for mixing intoxicating drink,
²³Who ⚓justify the wicked for a bribe,
And take away justice from the righteous man!
²⁴Therefore, ⚓as the fire devours the stubble,
And the flame consumes the chaff,
So⚓their root will be as rottenness,
And their blossom will ascend like dust;
Because they have rejected the law of the Lord of hosts,
And despised the word of the Holy One of Israel.
²⁵⚓Therefore the anger of the Lord is aroused against His people;
He has stretched out His hand against them
And stricken them,
And ⚓the hills trembled.
Their carcasses were as refuse in the midst of the streets.
⚓For all this His anger is not turned away,
But His hand is stretched out still.
²⁶⚓He will lift up a banner to the nations from afar,
And will ⚓whistle to them from ⚓the end of the earth;
Surely ⚓they shall come with speed, swiftly.
²⁷No one will be weary or stumble among them,
No one will slumber or sleep;
Nor ⚓will the belt on their loins be loosed,
Nor the strap of their sandals be broken;
²⁸⚓Whose arrows are sharp,
And all their bows bent;
Their horses’ hooves will seem like flint,
And their wheels like a whirlwind.
²⁹Their roaring will be like a lion,
They will roar like young lions;
Yes, they will roar
And lay hold of the prey;
They will carry it away safely,
And no one will deliver.
³⁰In that day they will roar against them
Like the roaring of the sea.
And if one⚓looks to the land,
Behold, darkness and sorrow;
And the light is darkened by the clouds.
