Ma-na-se phạm tội
1Ma-na-se được mười hai tuổi lúc lên ngôi, và cai trị năm mươi lăm năm tại Giê-ru-sa-lem. Mẹ vua là Hép-si-ba.
2Ma-na-se làm điều ác trước mặt Chúa Hằng Hữu theo con đường tội lỗi của các thổ dân đã bị Chúa đuổi ra khỏi đất này để lấy đất cho người Y-sơ-ra-ên ở.
3Vua dựng lại các miếu trên đồi đã bị Ê-xê-chia cha mình phá hủy; xây bàn thờ Ba-anh, dựng tượng A-sê-ra như A-háp vua Y-sơ-ra-ên đã làm và thờ tất cả các tinh tú trên trời.
4,5Vua xây bàn thờ các tinh tú trong hai hành lang Đền thờ, đặt bàn thờ tà thần trong Đền thờ tại Giê-ru-sa¬-lem, thành được Chúa chọn để mang danh Ngài.
6Vua đem con mình thiêu sống tế thần; học coi bói, coi điềm, nghe lời đồng bóng, phù thủy. Vua làm điều cực ác, chọc giận Chúa.
7Ma-na-se còn chạm tượng A-sê-ra, đem vào đặt trong Đền thờ, bất tuân lời Chúa đã phán với Đa-vít và Sa-lô-môn: "Đền thờ này và thành Giê-ru-sa-lem là nơi được Ta chọn để mang Danh Ta mãi mãi.
8Nếu người Y-sơ-ra-ên tuân theo lệnh Ta, tức các luật lệ Mai-sen đã truyền cho họ, Ta sẽ không bắt họ phải bị lưu lạc nữa,
9nhưng họ không nghe lời Ta." Ngoài ra, Ma-na-se còn xúi giục họ làm nhiều điều ác hơn cả các thổ dân ở đây trước kia, là các dân đã làm ác nên bị Chúa tiêu diệt và lấy đất này cho dân Y-sơ-ra-ên ở.
10Vì thế Chúa Hằng Hữu phán qua các đầy tớ Ngài rằng:
11Vì Ma-na-se, vua Giu-đa đã làm những điều đáng ghê tởm này, là những điều thất nhơn ác đức còn hơn cả thổ dân Am-môn trước kia và xúi dân Giu-đa thờ thần tượng,
12nên Ta, Thượng Đế Hằng Hữu của Y-sơ-ra-ên sẽ giáng họa trên Giê-ru-sa-lem và Giu-đa, khiến cho ai nghe tin này cũng phải bàng hoàng.
13Ta sẽ lấy dây đo Sa-ma-ri và dây dò⚓ nhà A-háp giăng trên Giê-ru-sa-lem. Ta sẽ quét sạch Giê-ru-sa-lem như một người chùi sạch cái dĩa rồi úp nó xuống.
14Ta sẽ từ bỏ những người còn lại, mặc dù họ vốn thuộc về Ta và giao họ cho quân thù. Họ trở thành miếng mồi, và chiến lợi phẩm của địch.
15Vì họ làm điều ác trước mặt Ta, chọc Ta giận từ ngày tổ tiên họ được đem ra khỏi Ai-cập đến nay.
16Ngoài tội xúi giục Giu-đa thờ thần tượng, Ma-na-se còn giết nhiều người vô tội, làm cho máu họ tràn ngập Giê-ru-sa-lem.
17Các công việc khác của Ma-na-se, tội lỗi vua làm đều được chép trong sách lịch sử các vua Giu-đa.
18Ma-na-se mất và được chôn trong vườn ngự uyển U-sa. Con Ma-na-se là A-môn lên kế vị.
A-môn
19A-môn lên ngôi lúc hai mươi tuổi, và cai trị hai năm tại Giê-ru-sa-lem. Mẹ vua là Mê-su-lê-mết, con Ha-rút ở Giô-ba.
20Vua làm điều ác trước mặt Chúa Hằng Hữu cũng như Ma-na-se cha mình.
21Vua theo đúng đường lối cha mình, thờ các thần tượng cha mình đã thờ;
22bỏ Thượng Đế Hằng Hữu của tổ tiên mình, không theo đường lối của Ngài.
23Các tôi tớ A-môn làm phản, giết A-môn ngay trong cung vua.
24Nhưng nhân dân nổi lên giết hết những người phản loạn, rồi lập Giô-si-a, con A-môn lên làm vua.
25Các công việc khác của A-môn đều được chép trong sách lịch sử của các vua Giu-đa.
26A-môn được chôn trong mộ tại vườn U-xa. Giô-si-a lên kế vị.

Manasseh Reigns in Judah
1Manasseh ⚓was twelve years old when he became king, and he reigned fifty-five years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Hephzibah.
2And he did evil in the sight of the Lord, ⚓according to the abominations of the nations whom the Lord had cast out before the children of Israel.
3For he rebuilt the high places ⚓which Hezekiah his father had destroyed; he raised up altars for Baal, and made a wooden image, ⚓as Ahab king of Israel had done; and he ⚓worshiped all the host of heaven and served them.
4⚓He also built altars in the house of the Lord, of which the Lord had said, ⚓“In Jerusalem I will put My name.”
5And he built altars for all the host of heaven in the ⚓two courts of the house of the Lord.
6⚓Also he made his son pass through the fire, practiced ⚓soothsaying, used witchcraft, and consulted spiritists and mediums. He did much evil in the sight of the Lord, to provoke Him to anger.
7He even set a carved image of Asherah that he had made, in the house of which the Lord had said to David and to Solomon his son, ⚓“In this house and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, I will put My name forever;
8⚓and I will not make the feet of Israel wander anymore from the land which I gave their fathers—only if they are careful to do according to all that I have commanded them, and according to all the law that My servant Moses commanded them.”
9But they paid no attention, and Manasseh ⚓seduced them to do more evil than the nations whom the Lord had destroyed before the children of Israel.
10And the Lord spoke ⚓by His servants the prophets, saying,
11⚓“Because Manasseh king of Judah has done these abominations (⚓he has acted more wickedly than all the ⚓Amorites who were before him, and ⚓has also made Judah sin with his idols),
12therefore thus says the Lord God of Israel: ‘Behold, I am bringing such calamity upon Jerusalem and Judah, that whoever hears of it, both ⚓his ears will tingle.
13And I will stretch over Jerusalem ⚓the measuring line of Samaria and the plummet of the house of Ahab; ⚓I will wipe Jerusalem as one wipes a dish, wiping it and turning it upside down.
14So I will forsake the ⚓remnant of My inheritance and deliver them into the hand of their enemies; and they shall become victims of plunder to all their enemies,
15because they have done evil in My sight, and have provoked Me to anger since the day their fathers came out of Egypt, even to this day.’ ”
16⚓Moreover Manasseh shed very much innocent blood, till he had filled Jerusalem from one end to another, besides his sin by which he made Judah sin, in doing evil in the sight of the Lord.
17Now ⚓the rest of the acts of ⚓Manasseh—all that he did, and the sin that he committed—are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?
18So ⚓Manasseh rested with his fathers, and was buried in the garden of his own house, in the garden of Uzza. Then his son Amon reigned in his place.
Amon’s Reign and Death
19⚓Amon was twenty-two years old when he became king, and he reigned two years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Meshullemeth the daughter of Haruz of Jotbah.
20And he did evil in the sight of the Lord, ⚓as his father Manasseh had done.
21So he walked in all the ways that his father had walked; and he served the idols that his father had served, and worshiped them.
22He ⚓forsook the Lord God of his fathers, and did not walk in the way of the Lord.
23⚓Then the servants of Amon ⚓conspired against him, and killed the king in his own house.
24But the people of the land ⚓executed all those who had conspired against King Amon. Then the people of the land made his son Josiah king in his place.
25Now the rest of the acts of Amon which he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?
26And he was buried in his tomb in the garden of Uzza. Then Josiah his son reigned in his place.
