Linh hồn khát khao được thỏa nguyện nơi Đức Chúa Trời

Thơ Đa-vít làm, Khi người ở trong rừng vắng Giu-đa⚓

¹ Hỡi Đức Chúa Trời, Chúa là Đức Chúa Trời tôi, vừa sáng tôi tìm cầu Chúa;
Trong một đất khô khan, cực nhọc, chẳng nước,
Linh hồn tôi khát khao Chúa, thân thể tôi mong mỏi về Chúa,
² Đặng xem sự quyền năng và sự vinh hiển của Chúa,
Như tôi đã nhìn xem Chúa tại trong nơi thánh.
³ Vì sự nhân từ Chúa tốt hơn mạng sống;
Môi tôi sẽ ngợi khen Chúa.
⁴ Như vậy, tôi sẽ chúc phước Chúa trọn đời tôi;
Nhân danh Chúa tôi sẽ giơ tay lên.
⁵ Linh hồn tôi được no nê dường như ăn tủy xương và mỡ;
Miệng tôi sẽ lấy môi vui vẻ mà ngợi khen Chúa.
⁶ Khi trên giường tôi nhớ đến Chúa,
Bèn suy gẫm về Chúa trọn các canh đêm;
⁷ Vì Chúa đã giúp đỡ tôi,
Dưới bóng cánh của Chúa tôi sẽ mừng rỡ.
⁸ Linh hồn tôi đeo theo Chúa;
Tay hữu Chúa nâng đỡ tôi.
⁹ Những kẻ nào tìm hại mạng sống tôi
Sẽ sa xuống nơi thấp của đất.
¹⁰ Chúng nó sẽ bị phó cho quyền thanh gươm,
Bị làm mồi cho chó cáo.
¹¹ Nhưng vua sẽ vui vẻ nơi Đức Chúa Trời;
Phàm ai chỉ Ngài mà thề sẽ khoe mình;
Vì miệng những kẻ nói dối sẽ bị ngậm lại.

Joy in the Fellowship of God

A Psalm of David ⚓when he was in the wilderness of Judah.

¹O God, You are my God;
Early will I seek You;
⚓My soul thirsts for You;
My flesh longs for You
In a dry and thirsty land
Where there is no water.
²So I have looked for You in the sanctuary,
To see ⚓Your power and Your glory.
³⚓Because Your lovingkindness is better than life,
My lips shall praise You.
⁴Thus I will bless You while I live;
I will ⚓lift up my hands in Your name.
⁵My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness,
And my mouth shall praise You with joyful lips.
⁶When ⚓I remember You on my bed,
I meditate on You in the night watches.
⁷Because You have been my help,
Therefore in the shadow of Your wings I will rejoice.
⁸My soul follows close behind You;
Your right hand upholds me.
⁹But those who seek my life, to destroy it,
Shall go into the lower parts of the earth.
¹⁰They shall fall by the sword;
They shall be a portion for jackals.
¹¹But the king shall rejoice in God;
⚓Everyone who swears by Him shall glory;
But the mouth of those who speak lies shall be stopped.
