Thơ A-sáp làm

¹ Đức Chúa Trời ôi! xin chớ làm thinh.
Đức Chúa Trời ôi! xin chớ nín lặng, chớ đứng yên.
² Vì, kìa, các kẻ thù nghịch Chúa náo loạn,
Và những kẻ ghét Chúa ngước đầu lên.
³ Chúng nó toan mưu độc hại dân sự Chúa,
Bàn nghị nhau nghịch những kẻ Chúa che giấu.
⁴ Chúng nó nói rằng: Hãy đến tuyệt diệt chúng nó đến nỗi không còn làm nước,
Hầu cho danh Y-sơ-ra-ên không còn được kỷ niệm nữa.
⁵ Vì chúng nó một lòng bàn nghị nhau,
Lập giao ước nghịch cùng Chúa:
⁶ Các trại Ê-đôm và người Ích-ma-ên,
Mô-áp và người Ha-ga-rít.
⁷ Ghê-banh, Am-môn, và A-ma-léc,
Người Phi-li-tin, với dân Ty-rơ;
⁸ A-si-ri cũng hiệp với chúng nó,
Mà giúp đỡ con cháu Lót. (Sê-la)
⁹ Hãy đãi chúng nó như Ma-đi-an,
Như Si-sê-ra, như Gia-bin tại khe Ki-sôn,⚓
¹⁰ Là kẻ bị hư nát tại Ên-đô-rơ,
Trở thành phân cho đất.
¹¹ Hãy làm cho các người tước vị chúng nó giống như Ô-rép và Xê-ép,
Và hết thảy quan trưởng họ giống như Xê-bách và Xanh-mu-na;⚓
¹² Vì chúng nó nói rằng: Ta hãy chiếm lấy làm của
Các nơi ở Đức Chúa Trời.
¹³ Đức Chúa Trời tôi ôi! hãy làm cho chúng nó giống như bụi bị gió cuộn,
Tựa như rơm rạ ở trước gió.
¹⁴ Lửa thiêu đốt rừng,
Lửa ngọn cháy núi thể nào,
¹⁵ Hãy lấy trận bão Chúa đuổi rượt chúng nó,
Và dùng giông tố Chúa khiến chúng nó kinh khiếp thể ấy.
¹⁶ Hỡi Đức Giê-hô-va, xin hãy làm mặt chúng nó đầy nhuốc nhơ,
Để chúng nó tìm cầu danh-Ngài.
¹⁷ Nguyện chúng nó bị hổ thẹn và thất kinh đến đời đời;
Nguyện chúng nó bị hổ ngươi và hư mất;
¹⁸ Hầu cho chúng nó biết rằng chỉ một mình Chúa, danh là Đức Giê-hô-va,
Là Đấng Chí Cao trên khắp trái đất.

¹Do⚓ not keep silent, O God!
Do not hold Your peace,
And do not be still, O God!
²For behold, ⚓Your enemies make a tumult;
And those who hate You have lifted up their head.
³They have taken crafty counsel against Your people,
And consulted together ⚓against Your sheltered ones.
⁴They have said, “Come, and ⚓let us cut them off from being a nation,
That the name of Israel may be remembered no more.”
⁵For they have consulted together with one consent;
They form a confederacy against You:
⁶⚓The tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites;
Moab and the Hagrites;
⁷Gebal, Ammon, and Amalek;
Philistia with the inhabitants of Tyre;
⁸Assyria also has joined with them;
They have helped the children of Lot.
Selah
⁹Deal with them as with⚓Midian,
As with⚓Sisera,
As with Jabin at the Brook Kishon,
¹⁰Who perished at En Dor,
⚓Who became as refuse on the earth.
¹¹Make their nobles like ⚓Oreb and like Zeeb,
Yes, all their princes like ⚓Zebah and Zalmunna,
¹²Who said, “Let us take for ourselves
The pastures of God for a possession.”
¹³⚓O my God, make them like the whirling dust,
⚓Like the chaff before the wind!
¹⁴As the fire burns the woods,
And as the flame ⚓sets the mountains on fire,
¹⁵So pursue them with Your tempest,
And frighten them with Your storm.
¹⁶Fill their faces with shame,
That they may seek Your name, O Lord.
¹⁷Let them be confounded and dismayed forever;
Yes, let them be put to shame and perish,
¹⁸⚓That they may know that You, whose ⚓name alone is the Lord,
Are⚓the Most High over all the earth.
