1Yêhôwa blŭ kơ kâo:
2“Ơ anak mnuih, hưn bĕ sa klei bi hriêng, leh anăn blŭ klei bi hmô kơ sang Israel.
3Lač bĕ kơ diñu, ‘Snei Yêhôwa Aê Diê lač: Sa drei tlang prŏng mâo siap prŏng leh anăn mlâo siap dlông, mâo mlâo lu leh anăn lu mta êa truh kơ čar Liƀan leh anăn mă êdŭk ana kyâo sêdar;
4ñu kjoh anôk ƀrŏng mda hĭn leh anăn ba dŏ anăn kơ čar čhĭ mnia, leh anăn dưm gơ̆ hlăm ƀuôn čhĭ mnia.
5Ñu mă mjeh mơ̆ng čar ih leh anăn buh mjeh anăn hlăm anôk lăn jing; ñu dưm gơ̆ giăm êa hnoh lu. Ñu pla ƀrŏng anăn msĕ si arăng pla ana kyâo,
6gơ̆ čăt leh anăn jing ana boh kriăk ƀâo biêr, adhan gơ̆ wir phă tlang, leh anăn agha gơ̆ dôk ti anôk gơ̆. Snăn gơ̆ jing sa ƀĕ ana boh kriăk ƀâo, leh anăn mâo adhan leh anăn mâo hla.
7Ƀiădah lŏ mâo sa drei tlang prŏng mkăn mâo siap prŏng leh anăn mlâo lu; nĕ anei, ana boh kriăk ƀâo anăn drung agha phă tlang anei mơ̆ng đang anôk arăng pla gơ̆ leh, leh anăn gô adhan phă ñu, čiăng kơ ñu dưi krih êa kơ gơ̆.
8Arăng pla leh ti anôk lăn jăk giăm êa hnoh lu, čiăng kơ Ana boh kriăk ƀâo mâo adhan lu leh anăn mâo boh, leh anăn jing ana boh kriăk ƀâo siam jăk.’
9Lač bĕ kơ diñu, ‘Snei Yêhôwa Aê Diê lač: Ana boh kriăk ƀâo srăng hriê kơ prŏng mơ̆? Amâo djŏ hĕ tlang tal êlâo srăng buč agha gơ̆ leh anăn khăt adhan gơ̆ čiăng kơ jih jang knăt gơ̆ srăng dliu? Amâo yuôm mâo păl ktang amâodah lu mnuih buč gơ̆ wăt agha gơ̆, kyuadah ênưih buč gơ̆.
10Nĕ anei, tơdah arăng lŏ pla gơ̆ ti anôk mkăn, gơ̆ srăng hriê kơ prŏng mơ̆? Amâo djŏ hĕ gơ̆ srăng dliu jih tơdah angĭn mơ̆ng ngŏ thut ti gơ̆ — dliu ti đang gơ̆ dôk čăt leh?’ ”
11Yêhôwa blŭ kơ kâo:
12 “Lač bĕ ară anei kơ sang khăng bi kdơ̆ng: ‘Diih amâo thâo hĕ ya klei mblang kơ klei anăn?’ Hưn bĕ kơ diñu, ‘Nĕ anei, mtao Ƀaƀilôn truh kơ ƀuôn Yêrusalem leh anăn mă mtao ñu leh anăn phung khua ñu, leh anăn atăt ba diñu kơ gơ̆ pô ti ƀuôn Ƀaƀilôn.
13Leh anăn gơ̆ mă sa čô mơ̆ng găp djuê mtao leh anăn ngă klei bi mguôp hŏng ñu, brei ñu kat asei. Gơ̆ atăt ba msĕ phung êkei khua hlăm čar,
14čiăng kơ ƀuôn ala mtao thâo luă gŭ, amâo lŏ bi kdơ̆ng ôh, leh anăn hŏng klei djă pioh klei bi mguôp ƀuôn ala mtao dưi dôk nanao.
15Ƀiădah mtao bi kdơ̆ng hŏng gơ̆ hŏng klei tiŏ phung dĭng ktang bi ala nao kơ čar Êjip, čiăng kơ phung Êjip dưi brei aseh kơ mtao leh anăn sa phung kahan lu. Ñu srăng dưi mơ̆? Sa čô mnuih dưi tlaih mơ̆ êjai ngă snăn? Dưi mơ̆ ñu gao hĕ klei bi mguôp leh anăn ăt tlaih mơh?’
16‘Tui si kâo dôk hdĭp,’ Yêhôwa lač, ‘Sĭt nik hlăm anôk mtao Ƀaƀilôn dôk, pô mjing leh ñu mtao, kyuadah ñu bi êmut klei ƀuăn leh anăn gao klei bi mguôp hŏng mtao Ƀaƀilôn, ñu srăng djiê hlăm ƀuôn Ƀaƀilôn.
17Pharaôn leh anăn phung kahan ktang gơ̆ leh anăn sa phung lu amâo srăng đru ñu ôh hlăm klei bi blah, tơdah arăng mdơ̆ng lăn leh anăn mnư̆ wang ngă kơ ƀuôn čiăng bi mdjiê lu mnuih.
18Kyuadah ñu bi êmut leh kơ klei ƀuăn leh anăn gao leh klei bi mguôp, kyuadah ñu ƀuăn leh ƀiădah ăt ngă jih jang klei anei, ñu amâo srăng tlaih ôh.’
19Kyuanăn snei Yêhôwa Aê Diê lač: ‘Tui si kâo dôk hdĭp, sĭt nik klei kâo ƀuăn leh ñu bi êmut, leh anăn klei kâo bi mguôp ñu gao leh, kâo srăng bi lĕ klei anăn ti boh kŏ ñu pô.
20Kâo srăng dăng ñuăl kâo ti dlông ñu, leh anăn ñu srăng djŏ ñuăl kâo, leh anăn kâo srăng atăt ñu kơ ƀuôn Ƀaƀilôn leh anăn phat kđi ñu tinăn kyua klei lhiăr ñu ngă leh kơ kâo.
21Jih jang phung kahan ñu jăk hĭn srăng êbuh djiê hŏng đao gưm, leh anăn phung tlaih srăng bra đuĕ kơ djăp mta angĭn, leh anăn ih srăng thâo kâo gơ̆ Yêhôwa blŭ leh klei anăn.’
22Snei Yêhôwa Aê Diê lač: ‘Kâo pô srăng mă kƀiêng mơ̆ng ƀrŏng dlông hĭn kyâo sêdar, leh anăn lŏ pla gơ̆ ti anôk mkăn; kâo srăng kjoh mă mơ̆ng ƀrŏng dlông hĭn sa ƀĕ kƀiêng mda, leh anăn kâo pô srăng pla dŏ anăn ti dlông čư̆ dlông;
23kâo srăng pla dŏ anăn ti čŏng čư̆ Israel, čiăng kơ dŏ anăn čăt adhan leh anăn mâo boh, leh anăn jing sa ƀĕ kyâo sêdar siam jăk. Ti gŭ ana kyâo anăn djăp mta čĭm srăng dôk; hlăm êyui adhan ñu djăp mta čĭm srăng ngă hruh.
24Jih jang ana kyâo hlăm dliê srăng thâo kơ kâo Yêhôwa bi mtrŭn hĕ kyâo dlông leh anăn bi mđĭ hĕ kyâo biêr, bi krô hĕ kyâo mtah leh anăn brei kyâo krô čăt jing. Kâo gơ̆ Yêhôwa blŭ leh klei anăn, leh anăn kâo srăng ngă klei anăn mơh.’ ”

Two Eagles and a Vine
1The word of the Lord came to me:
2“Son of man, set forth an allegory and tell it to the Israelites as a parable.
3Say to them, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: A great eagle with powerful wings, long feathers and full plumage of varied colors came to Lebanon. Taking hold of the top of a cedar,
4he broke off its topmost shoot and carried it away to a land of merchants, where he planted it in a city of traders.
5“ ‘He took one of the seedlings of the land and put it in fertile soil. He planted it like a willow by abundant water,
6and it sprouted and became a low, spreading vine. Its branches turned toward him, but its roots remained under it. So it became a vine and produced branches and put out leafy boughs.
7“ ‘But there was another great eagle with powerful wings and full plumage. The vine now sent out its roots toward him from the plot where it was planted and stretched out its branches to him for water.
8It had been planted in good soil by abundant water so that it would produce branches, bear fruit and become a splendid vine.’
9“Say to them, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Will it thrive? Will it not be uprooted and stripped of its fruit so that it withers? All its new growth will wither. It will not take a strong arm or many people to pull it up by the roots.
10It has been planted, but will it thrive? Will it not wither completely when the east wind strikes it—wither away in the plot where it grew?’ ”
11Then the word of the Lord came to me:
12“Say to this rebellious people, ‘Do you not know what these things mean?’ Say to them: ‘The king of Babylon went to Jerusalem and carried off her king and her nobles, bringing them back with him to Babylon.
13Then he took a member of the royal family and made a treaty with him, putting him under oath. He also carried away the leading men of the land,
14so that the kingdom would be brought low, unable to rise again, surviving only by keeping his treaty.
15But the king rebelled against him by sending his envoys to Egypt to get horses and a large army. Will he succeed? Will he who does such things escape? Will he break the treaty and yet escape?
16“ ‘As surely as I live, declares the Sovereign Lord, he shall die in Babylon, in the land of the king who put him on the throne, whose oath he despised and whose treaty he broke.
17Pharaoh with his mighty army and great horde will be of no help to him in war, when ramps are built and siege works erected to destroy many lives.
18He despised the oath by breaking the covenant. Because he had given his hand in pledge and yet did all these things, he shall not escape.
19“ ‘Therefore this is what the Sovereign Lord says: As surely as I live, I will repay him for despising my oath and breaking my covenant.
20I will spread my net for him, and he will be caught in my snare. I will bring him to Babylon and execute judgment on him there because he was unfaithful to me.
21All his choice troops will fall by the sword, and the survivors will be scattered to the winds. Then you will know that I the Lord have spoken.
22“ ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: I myself will take a shoot from the very top of a cedar and plant it; I will break off a tender sprig from its topmost shoots and plant it on a high and lofty mountain.
23On the mountain heights of Israel I will plant it; it will produce branches and bear fruit and become a splendid cedar. Birds of every kind will nest in it; they will find shelter in the shade of its branches.
24All the trees of the forest will know that I the Lord bring down the tall tree and make the low tree grow tall. I dry up the green tree and make the dry tree flourish.
“ ‘I the Lord have spoken, and I will do it.’ ”
