1Con ngước mắt lên nhìn Chúa,
Đấng ngự trị trên trời cao.
2Như mắt tôi tớ trông chờ tay chủ,
Mắt nữ tỳ nhìn tay bà chủ,
Mắt chúng con trông mong Chúa Hằng Hữu,
Thượng Đế chúng con,
Cho đến khi Ngài thương xót.
3Chúa Hằng Hữu!
Xin thương xót chúng con,
Xin thương xót chúng con,
Vì chúng con bị khinh bỉ quá nhiều .
4Chúng con chịu đựng ê chề,
Người an nhàn chế nhạo,
Kẻ kiêu ngạo khinh khi.

A Song of Ascents.
1Unto You ⚓I lift up my eyes,
O You ⚓who dwell in the heavens.
2Behold, as the eyes of servants look to the hand of their masters,
As the eyes of a maid to the hand of her mistress,
⚓So our eyes look to the Lord our God,
Until He has mercy on us.
3Have mercy on us, O Lord, have mercy on us!
For we are exceedingly filled with contempt.
4Our soul is exceedingly filled
With the scorn of those who are at ease,
With the contempt of the proud.
