(2 Vajntxwv 20.1-11; 2 Xwmtxheej Vajntxwv 32.24-26)

1Thaum ntawd Vajntxwv Hexekiyas mob hnyav heev thiab nws yuav zoo tsis taus. Amauxes tus tub Yaxayas uas yog tus cev Vajtswv lus mus xyuas Hexekiyas thiab hais rau nws hais tias, “Vajtswv hais tias koj yuav tsum npaj txhua yam kom txhij txhua tseg rau koj tsevneeg. Rau qhov koj yeej yuav tsis zoo, koj yuav tuag xwb.”
2Hexekiyas txawm tig hlo rau tim phabntsa thiab thov tus TSWV hais tias, 3“Tus TSWV, thov koj nco ntsoov hais tias kuv ua koj tes haujlwm ntawm lub siab ncaj ncees thiab muab siab npuab koj, thiab kuv rau siab ntso ua txhua yam zoo uas koj xav kom kuv ua.” Thiab nws quaj tu siab kawg li.
4Tus TSWV rov hais rau Yaxayas hais tias, 5“Koj cia li rov mus cuag Hexekiyas thiab hais rau nws hais tias, ‘Kuv yog tus TSWV uas yog koj yawgkoob Daviv tus Vajtswv, kuv twb hnov koj tej lus thov thiab pom koj tej kua muag lawm; kuv yuav ntxiv hnub nyoog rau koj ua neej nyob kaum tsib xyoos ntxiv. 6Kuv cawm koj thiab lub nroog Yeluxalees kom dim ntawm cov Axilias tus huabtais txhais tes, thiab kuv tseem yuav tiv thaiv lub nroog no mus.’
7Yaxayas hais tias, “Tus TSWV yuav muab ib yam los ua cim qhia rau koj hais tias, nws yuav ua raws li nws tej lus cog tseg lawm. 8Tus TSWV yuav muab tus duab hnub thim rov qab kaum theem qibntai ntawm tus ntaiv uas Vajntxwv Ahas ua,” ces tus duab hnub txawm thim rov qab kaum theem.
9Tom qab uas Hexekiyas tus mob zoo lawm, nws sau zaj nkauj no hu ua Vajtswv tsaug:
  10Kuv hais tias, “Kuv txojsia uas tseemceeb tshaj plaws
  yuav mus rau ntawm lub roojvag uas yog txojkev tuag;
  kuv yuav tsis muaj sia nyob ib zaug ntxiv li lawm.”
  11Kuv hais tias, “Kuv yuav tsis pom
   tus TSWV hauv cov neeg uas muaj sia nyob lub tebchaws;
  kuv lub qhovmuag yuav tsis pom cov neeg uas muaj sia
   hauv lub ntiajteb no ib zaug li lawm.
  12Kuv txojsia twb raug muab txiav tu
   thiab twb kawg lawm,
  ib yam li lub tsevntaub uas muab rhuav tas lawm,
  zoo li tej ntaub uas muab txiab txias tus los.
  Kuv xav hais tias Vajtswv twb rho kuv txojsia lawm.
  13Kuv quaj ib hmos kaj ntug rau kuv
   tus mob.
  Vajtswv muab kuv tej pobtxha lov
   tas ib yam li tsov ntxhuav cua
  kuv xav hais tias Vajtswv yuav rho kuv txojsia mus.
  14Kuv ntsaj mos nyoos ib yam li tus
   luv lossis tus noogdej quaj,
  thiab kuv tsa hlo suab quaj ib yam li tus nquab.
  Kuv qhib tsis taus kuv ob lub
   qhovmuag saib saum ntuj.
  Tus TSWV, kuv ntxhov siab heev; thov koj pab kuv!”
  15Kuv yuav hais li cas?
  Tus TSWV twb hais rau kuv,
   thiab nws twb ua raws li nws hais lawm.
  Kuv nyuaj siab heev thiab pw tsis tsaug zog li.

  16Tus TSWV, qhov uas neeg muaj txojsia nyob
   twb yog vim muaj koj,
  thiab qhov uas kuv muaj txojsia
   nyob twb yog koj cawm.
  Thov pab kho kuv tus mob kom zoo
   thiab pub kuv rov muaj txojsia!
  17Kuv tej kev nyuaj siab yuav hloov
   mus ua kev kaj siab.
  Koj cawm kuv txojsia dim ntawm
   lub qhov uas yog txojkev puastsuaj los;
   koj zam tagnrho kuv tej kev txhaum.
  18Tsis muaj ib tug nyob hauv tubtuag
   teb yuav txawj ua koj tsaug;
  cov tuag lawm yeej tsis txawj cia siab
   rau koj txojkev ncaj ncees li.
  19Tsuas yog tus muaj sia nyob thiaj txawj ua koj tsaug
   ib yam li hnub no kuv ua xwb.
  Tej lus uas leej txiv qhia cov menyuam
   yog tej uas hais tias koj yog tus ncaj ncees tiag.
  20Tus TSWV, koj tau kho kuv tus mob
   zoo lawm.
  Peb yuav ntaus nkauj nogncas thiab
   hu nkauj ua koj tsaug,
  peb yuav ua koj tsaug hauv koj lub
   Tuamtsev mus tas simneej.
21Ces Yaxayas hais tias, “Nej cia li muab txiv ncuavpias los tsoo qhwv vajntxwv lub rwj, nws thiaj yuav zoo.” 22Vajntxwv Hexekiyas nug hais tias, “Yam dabtsi ua lub cim qhia rau kuv paub hais tias kuv yuav tau mus rau hauv tus TSWV lub Tuamtsev?”

Hezekiah’s Life Extended

1In those days Hezekiah was sick and near death. And Isaiah the prophet, the son of Amoz, went to him and said to him, “Thus says the Lord: ‘Set your house in order, for you shall die and not live.’ ”
2Then Hezekiah turned his face toward the wall, and prayed to the Lord, 3and said, “Remember now, O Lord, I pray, how I have walked before You in truth and with a loyal heart, and have done what is good in Your sight.” And Hezekiah wept bitterly.
4And the word of the Lord came to Isaiah, saying, 5“Go and tell Hezekiah, ‘Thus says the Lord, the God of David your father: “I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears; surely I will add to your days fifteen years. 6I will deliver you and this city from the hand of the king of Assyria, and I will defend this city.” ’ 7And this isthe sign to you from the Lord, that the Lord will do this thing which He has spoken: 8“Behold, I will bring the shadow on the sundial, which has gone down with the sun on the sundial of Ahaz, ten degrees backward.” So the sun returned ten degrees on the dial by which it had gone down.
9This is the writing of Hezekiah king of Judah, when he had been sick and had recovered from his sickness:
  10I said,
   “In the prime of my life
   I shall go to the gates of Sheol;
   I am deprived of the remainder of my years.”
   11I said,
   “I shall not see Yah,
   The Lordin the land of the living;
   I shall observe man no more among the inhabitants of the world.
   12My life span is gone,
   Taken from me like a shepherd’s tent;
   I have cut off my life like a weaver.
   He cuts me off from the loom;
   From day until night You make an end of me.
   13I have considered until morning—
   Like a lion,
   So He breaks all my bones;
   From day until night You make an end of me.
   14Like a crane or a swallow, so I chattered;
   I mourned like a dove;
   My eyes fail from looking upward.
   O Lord, I am oppressed;
   Undertake for me!
  15“What shall I say?
   He has both spoken to me,
   And He Himself has done it.
   I shall walk carefully all my years
   In the bitterness of my soul.
   16O Lord, by these things men live;
   And in all these things is the life of my spirit;
   So You will restore me and make me live.
   17Indeed it was for my own peace
   That I had great bitterness;
   But You have lovingly delivered my soul from the pit of corruption,
   For You have cast all my sins behind Your back.
   18For Sheol cannot thank You,
   Death cannot praise You;
   Those who go down to the pit cannot hope for Your truth.
   19The living, the living man, he shall praise You,
   As I do this day;
   The father shall make known Your truth to the children.
  20“The Lordwas ready to save me;
   Therefore we will sing my songs with stringed instruments
   All the days of our life, in the house of the Lord.”
21Now Isaiah had said, “Let them take a lump of figs, and apply it as a poultice on the boil, and he shall recover.”
22And Hezekiah had said, “What is the sign that I shall go up to the house of the Lord?”
