1Mas Elihu hais tias,
2“Nej cov uas muaj tswvyim
cia li mloog kuv tej lus,
nej cov uas txawj ntse,
cia li tig ntsej mloog kuv hais.
3Lub qhov ntsej sim mloog tej lus,
ib yam li lub qhov ncauj sim zaub mov.
4Thov cia peb xaiv yam uas raug,
cia peb kawm hauv peb covsaib yam twg zoo,
5rau qhov Yauj hais tias,
‘Kuv tsis tau ua txhaum,
tiamsis Vajtswv qhau kuv cai lawm.
6Txawm yog kuv ua raug cai
los kuv raug muab suav ua neeg dag,
txawm yog kuv tsis tau fav xeeb
los kuv tej kiav txhab kho tsis zoo.’
7Leejtwg yuav zoo li Yauj?
Nws haus txojkev thuam luag ib yam li haus dej,
8nws nrog tej neeg phem koom ua ke,
thiab nrog cov neeg limhiam mus ua ke.
9Vim nws hais tias,
‘Qhov uas neeg zoo siab rau hauv Vajtswv
tsis muaj qabhau dabtsi rau lawv.’
10“Vim li no, nej cov uas txawj nkag siab,
cia li mloog kuv hais,
tsis muaj ib zaug Vajtswv yuav ua limhiam kiag li,
thiab tus uas muaj hwjchim loj kawg nkaus⚓
yuav ua txhaum.
11Vajtswv yuav pauj rau neeg
raws li lawv tau ua lawd,
thiab Vajtswv yuav ua rau lawv raug
raws li lawv lub neej.
12Qhov tseeb, Vajtswv yeej yuav tsis ua limhiam,
thiab tus uas muaj hwjchim loj kawg nkaus
yuav tsis qhau txojcai.
13Leejtwg tsa Vajtswv kav lub qab ntuj,
lossis leejtwg muab lub ntiajteb huvsi
cob rau Vajtswv?
14Yog Vajtswv rho nws tus ntsuj plig rov qab,
thiab sau zog nws tej pa rov qab rau nws,
15ces txhua tus cev nqaij
yuav puam tsuaj tag huvsi,
thiab neeg yuav rov qab mus ua hmoov av xwb.
16“Yog koj txawj ntse, cia li mloog tej no,
cia li mloog kuv tej lus.
17Tsim nyog cia tus uas ntxub qhov
uas tu plaub ncaj ua tus kav lov?
Koj yuav rau txim rau tus uas
ncaj ncees thiab muaj hwjchim lov?
18Nws yog tus uas hais rau vajntxwv tias,
‘Koj tsis muaj nqes dabtsi,’
thiab hais rau cov uas ua hlob tias,
‘Koj yog neeg limhiam,’
19yog tus uas tsis saib cov thawj ntsej muag
lossis saib hlob cov nplua nuj
heev dua cov pluag,
rau qhov cov neeg no huvsi
yog Vajtswv txhais tes tsim.
20Ib pliag ntshis xwb lawv kuj tuag tag,
thaum ib tag hmo tej neeg tshee hnyo
thiab tag sim neej lawm,
thiab cov uas muaj hwjchim
kuj raug coj mus lawm,
tsis yog neeg txhais tes ua.
21“Vajtswv lub qhov muag
ntsia ntsoov neeg txojkev,
thiab nws pom lawv txhua kauj ruam.
22Tsis muaj duab tsaus
lossis qhov tsaus ntuj nti
uas cov neeg phem yuav tsiv nraim tau.
23Vajtswv tsis teem caij rau leejtwg
mus cuag Vajtswv txais kev txiav txim.
24Vajtswv rhuav tshem cov uas muaj hwjchim
tsis txog tshuaj saib,
thiab tsa lwm tus los nyob lawv chaw.
25Nws paub lawv tej haujlwm lawm
thiaj li muab lawv xyeeb kiag tseg
thaum hmo ntuj, lawv thiaj ntsoog tag.
26Vajtswv ntaus lawv tab meeg neeg
vim yog lawv tej kev limhiam,
27rau qhov lawv tig hlo ntawm Vajtswv lawm,
thiab tsis quav ntsej nws txojkev kiag li.
28Vim li no lawv thiaj ua rau tej pluag
lub suab quaj nrov tuaj txog Vajtswv,
mas nws kuj mloog cov uas txom nyem
nyuaj siab lub suab.
29Thaum Vajtswv nyob twjywm
leejtwg yuav rau txim tau rau nws?
Thaum nws fee plhu lawd
leejtwg yuav pom tau nws?
Vajtswv yeej saib neeg thiab tej tebchaws
30xwv tus uas tsis hwm Vajtswv
thiaj tsis tau kav
thiab tsis cuab qhov taub rau cov pejxeem.
31“Muaj leejtwg hais rau Vajtswv tias,
‘Kuv raug nplawm lawm,
kuv yuav tsis ua txhaum ntxiv lawm,
32thov qhia tej uas kuv tsis pom rau kuv,
yog kuv tau ua txhaum txim,
kuv yuav tsis ua ntxiv lawm’?
33Vim koj tsis kam txais tej uas Vajtswv ua
mas Vajtswv yuav ua rau koj
raws li koj lub siab xav lov?
Koj yuav tsum xaiv, tsis yog kuv xaiv.
Yog li no koj paub li cas cia li hais mus.
34Cov uas txawj ntse yuav hais rau kuv
thiab tus muaj tswvyim uas mloog kuv hais
yuav hais tias,
35‘Yauj hais yam li tsis paub qabhau,
nws tej lus tsis muaj lub ntsiab li.’
36Xav cia Yauj raug sim siab
mus txog thaum kawg,
rau qhov nws tej lus teb zoo yam nkaus li
tej neeg limhiam tej lus.
37Yauj muab qhov uas fav xeeb
tsav rau nws lub txim,
nws npuaj teg thuam luag
rau hauv peb nruab nrab,
thiab ua ncauj ntau tawm tsam Vajtswv.”

Elihu Proclaims God’s Justice
1Elihu further answered and said:
2“Hear my words, you wise men;
Give ear to me, you who have knowledge.
3⚓For the ear tests words
As the palate tastes food.
4Let us choose justice for ourselves;
Let us know among ourselves what is good.
5“For Job has said, ⚓‘I am righteous,
But ⚓God has taken away my justice;
6⚓Should I lie concerning my right?
My wound is incurable, though I am without transgression.’
7What man is like Job,
⚓Who drinks scorn like water,
8Who goes in company with the workers of iniquity,
And walks with wicked men?
9For ⚓he has said, ‘It profits a man nothing
That he should delight in God.’
10“Therefore listen to me, you men of understanding:
⚓Far be it from God to do wickedness,
And from the Almighty to commit iniquity.
11⚓For He repays man according to his work,
And makes man to find a reward according to his way.
12Surely God will never do wickedly,
Nor will the Almighty ⚓pervert justice.
13Who gave Him charge over the earth?
Or who appointed Him over the whole world?
14If He should set His heart on it,
If He should ⚓gather to Himself His Spirit and His breath,
15⚓All flesh would perish together,
And man would return to dust.
16“If you have understanding, hear this;
Listen to the sound of my words:
17⚓Should one who hates justice govern?
Will you ⚓condemn Him who is most just?
18⚓Is it fitting to say to a king, ‘You are worthless,’
And to nobles, ‘You are wicked’?
19Yet He ⚓is not partial to princes,
Nor does He regard the rich more than the poor;
For ⚓they are all the work of His hands.
20In a moment they die, ⚓in the middle of the night;
The people are shaken and pass away;
The mighty are taken away without a hand.
21“For⚓ His eyes are on the ways of man,
And He sees all his steps.
22⚓There is no darkness nor shadow of death
Where the workers of iniquity may hide themselves.
23For He need not further consider a man,
That he should go before God in judgment.
24⚓He breaks in pieces mighty men without inquiry,
And sets others in their place.
25Therefore He knows their works;
He overthrows them in the night,
And they are crushed.
26He strikes them as wicked men
In the open sight of others,
27Because they ⚓turned back from Him,
And ⚓would not consider any of His ways,
28So that they ⚓caused the cry of the poor to come to Him;
For He ⚓hears the cry of the afflicted.
29When He gives quietness, who then can make trouble?
And when He hides His face, who then can see Him,
Whether it is against a nation or a man alone?—
30That the hypocrite should not reign,
Lest the people be ensnared.
31“For has anyone said to God,
‘I have borne chastening;
I will offend no more;
32Teach me what I do not see;
If I have done iniquity, I will do no more’?
33Should He repay it according to your terms,
Just because you disavow it?
You must choose, and not I;
Therefore speak what you know.
34“Men of understanding say to me,
Wise men who listen to me:
35‘Job⚓ speaks without knowledge,
His words are without wisdom.’
36Oh, that Job were tried to the utmost,
Because his answers are like those of wicked men!
37For he adds ⚓rebellion to his sin;
He claps his hands among us,
And multiplies his words against God.”
