Thơ A-sáp - Soạn cho nhạc trưởng theo điệu Ghi-tích
1Hãy hát ca Thượng Đế, sức mạnh ta,
Lớn tiếng hoan hô Chúa của Gia-cốp!
2Hãy trổi nhạc,⚓ đánh trống vang ầm,
Gãy huyền cầm, thụ cầm réo rắt.
3Hãy thổi kèn vang động ngày trăng mới,
Tiết trăng tròn và ngày lễ quanh năm.
4Đây là ngày lễ ấn định cho Y-sơ-ra-ên,
Là luật lệ của Thượng Đế nhà Gia-cốp,
5Một nghị định cho đại tộc Giô-sép
Khi Ngài đi qua khắp xứ Ai-cập.
6Tôi nghe tiếng nói nhưng không hiểu:
"Ta cất gánh nặng khỏi vai các con,
Bàn tay các con khỏi mang xách nặng nề
7Nghe tiếng các con kêu trong cơn hoạn nạn
Ta đã lập tức ra tay giải cứu.
Ta đáp lời từ trong đám mây đen vang tiếng sấm,⚓
Ta thử các con tại suối Mê-ri-ba.
8Dân Ta ơi, hãy lắng tai,
Ta sẽ chỉ dạy Y-sơ-ra-ên hỡi, chỉ hãy nghe Ta.
9Giữa xứ các con, đừng có thần lạ,
Đừng quỳ lạy các thần ngoại quốc.
10Ta là Chúa, là Thần các con,
Ta đã đem các con lên từ Ai-cập.
Hãy hả miệng, Ta sẽ cho no đầy!
11Nhưng dân Ta không chịu nghe,
Y-sơ-ra-ên chẳng chấp nhận lời Ta.
12Nên Ta bỏ mặc cho nó chiu dục vọng,
Cho nó đi theo mưu định mình.
13Ôi, ước gì dân Ta nghe tiếng Ta,
Và Y-sơ-ra-ên đi theo đường lối Ta,
14Thì Ta đã đánh bại quân thù nó,
Và trở tay ta nghịch cùng kẻ địch.
15Những kẻ ghét Chúa sẽ đầu hàng nó,
Và nó được hưởng thời cơ thịnh trị lâu dài.
16Ta sẽ cho con lúa mì thượng hạng
Và mật ong nguyên chất từ vầng đá."

shout aloud to the God of Jacob!
2Begin the music, strike the timbrel,
play the melodious harp and lyre.
3Sound the ram’s horn at the New Moon,
and when the moon is full, on the day of our festival;
4this is a decree for Israel,
an ordinance of the God of Jacob.
5When God went out against Egypt,
he established it as a statute for Joseph.
I heard an unknown voice say:
6“I removed the burden from their shoulders;
their hands were set free from the basket.
7In your distress you called and I rescued you,
I answered you out of a thundercloud;
I tested you at the waters of Meribah.⚓
8Hear me, my people, and I will warn you—
if you would only listen to me, Israel!
9You shall have no foreign god among you;
you shall not worship any god other than me.
10I am the Lord your God,
who brought you up out of Egypt.
Open wide your mouth and I will fill it.
11“But my people would not listen to me;
Israel would not submit to me.
12So I gave them over to their stubborn hearts
to follow their own devices.
13“If my people would only listen to me,
if Israel would only follow my ways,
14how quickly I would subdue their enemies
and turn my hand against their foes!
15Those who hate the Lord would cringe before him,
and their punishment would last forever.
16But you would be fed with the finest of wheat;
with honey from the rock I would satisfy you.”
